Hi all,

I am currently looking into writing customized guides for our guild. We have found that many strategies out there are quite good on the whole, but very often we customize them to suite our particular style. This leaves our new recruits needing plenty of spoon feeding every time we get to a new boss that they have not done with us before.
The one thing that I would love to do is get those JPG background pictures that most guides use to show boss, tank, dps and healer positions. The ones where it will show the whole area that you are fighting in from almost directly above. It seems that they are not in game screen shots of any kind but I cannot seem to find information on how these are made? Preferably I would like to find out if there is a repository somewhere with these backgrounds lying around, unedited. Although if it is something that I would have to generate myself, then any tips on which program to use and how to get started would be nice.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

I am fairly sure that at least these style of images are in fact pulled from in game. Have you tried tweaking your camera distance?

The default is something stupid like 5 or 10. Set that to 50 and go nuts on your mousewheel. With the right angle you should be able to get top-down, or the 70 degree style screenshots seen in that above image.

I don't know of any online repository, but it really wouldn't surprise me if most/all of these things are taken in game.

I am also pretty sure that this images are from in game.

Addon TweakWoW : WoWInterface Downloads : Miscellaneous will let you tweak all settings for camera and necessary graphics adjustments. Just come after boss kill and take shots of rooms.

If you need images with bosses before kill - best way is to use [Elixir of Dream Vision] however, it have 2 minute cooldown.
