Now, I was always under the impression that attacks from behind someone could not be blocked, dodged or parried. On occasions when one of these actions occured, I assumed this was because of lag, and not because of an actual mechanic allowing people to defend themselves from behind.
Therefore, I am a little confused by Suprise Attacks. How is making backstab undodgeable a buff? Surely, seeing as backstab comes from behind, and you cannot dodge an attack from behind, this is useless?
So, am I under the wrong impression and people can dodge attacks from behind, or is one third of Suprise Attacks useless, or is there a possibility Blizzard intends to allow dodging attacks from behind in BC?
You have a 5% chance to be dodged from behind _in pve_ (in pvp you cant dodge from behind, if it happens, it's lag :). So basicly this talent removes the 5% of dodged backstabs/sinister strikes (vs your own lvl, 5.6 vs 3 lvls higher). When your ability doesnt land you loose something like 15% (iirc, havent played in 5 weeks so might get that one quite wrong) of the energy used, rest is refunded. So what the talent does is prevent you from loosing that 15% of energy on 5% of special attacks, giving you 1,0% extra energy to use. Now BS used to be ~30% of my DPS, so the talent gives you around abit over 0.3% increase in DPS.
