It seems that leaked Hunter information shows us being quite changed.

1 Agility gives 1 RAP.
It takes 33 Agility to give 1% crit at 60.
And all ranged weapons buffed about 20% in dps.

Now, if this is true, it means a drastik nerf to hunter dps yet again. WOOT.

How do i know this? i have done the math.

With my current character, http://ctprofiles.net/1224421,

I have

-484 Agility
-1504 RAP
-24% Crit Rate
-155 Avg Ashjrethul Damage

and my average precrit damages are

Autoshot - 593 Damage
Aimed Shot - 1155 Damage
Multi Shot - 785 Damage.

By incorporating in crits, i will average with these shots

Autoshot - 777 Damage
Aimed Shot - 1515 Damage
Multi Shot - 1029 Damage

Using a 9 second shot rotation, this would net me 541 DPS pre-armor and no latency.


If the alpha changes were implemented today, counting in reduced RAP, Increased crit and increased weapon damage

-484 Agility
-1020 RAP
-30% Crit
-187 Avg Ashjrethul Damage

My average precrit damages are

Autoshot - 501 Damage
Aimed Shot - 1086 Damage
Multi Shot - 706 Damage

Incorporating crits, average damage is

Autoshot - 697 Damage
Aimed Shot - 1514 Damage
Multi Shot - 981 Damage

For a 9 second shot rotation would net me

509 DPS Pre-armor and no latency.


Just what hunters need, we already did poor ranged dps but now they reduce it even further.

How many times does this have to happen?

We lost the Double Quiver Bonus.
We lost the 50% Mortal Shots.
We were Normalized.

And now this. I love my class, dont you?

Why not wait for confirmed, real talent updates rather than speculating on and stressing out over what could very well be fake leaks?

I think it's a bit premature to get worked up about the few hunter changes we know about, since we don't know what else is going on. We still don't have talent trees, we still don't know what other mechanics changes are going on with our class. I'd feel pretty stupid if I posted big rants like this and then it turned out that blizzard was doing something like, say, significantly increasing our mana regeneration so we can dps for 10% longer before we run out of mana? That'd cover your math problem pretty well, I think. Once all the changes are known, by all means, raise the red flag if they're bad. Until then, it's just a chicken little sort of thing.
