You forgot one part.
3/18/07: A special patch is released with only one addition "A bug has been discovered that was allowing hunters to die, as this was uninteneded, it has been removed."

Uh oh. What is this taste of compost in my mouth? I hope it doesn't have anything to do with overly recycled jokes.

Only in the context of "The EULA now refers to the fact that the words 'Chuck Norris' when used ingame now incur an automated process wherein your character is deleted without chance of restoration and your account is permanently banned."

We can do better than that.
05/11/09: The graphics team, happy after the seventeenth redesign of all Mage icons, finally get around to redoing the graphics of the Ahn'Qiraj gear. This is quickly followed by many complaints about Blizzard not redesigning the looks of the non-set pieces from the Frozen Throne raid instance.

I just really hope that the raid zones are not so long anymore. In the expansion the 5 mans are short and sweet. I genuinely hope that they applied the same ideas to the raid content.
I dont want the raids to be easy, I want them to be hard. But I also want to be able to plow them in 3-4 hours when they are on farm.
I crave the days back before AQ where we could spend 2 nights clearing the raid content, maybe one night on zg and then have the rest of the week to pvp or 'gasp' not login.
I like nax but I am scared that the length of this instance is a sign of things to come. I really do not want to have to raid as much as we have been raiding the last 3-4 months.

The raid for Tempest Keep is only 4 bosses long, Tigole mentioned they're finished with the first 3 bosses and are now working on Kael.

Man that makes me happy to hear. I really miss the momentum shifts of like concentrating on one new boss really hard and then getting to relax for a couple weeks etc.
Naxx is cool but I think it is safe to say that in general the bar was set too high. It is somewhat ironic because the casual vs raider debate seems to apply to raiding guilds in a way where many successful raiding guilds are simply too casual to complete naxx because it just takes so long.

I'm not sure that's a fair assessment, berg. Naxx isn't long - yeah, it's 14 bosses (or 15 or whatever, number isn't important), but with the exception of Sapph/KT, no boss is more than 3 bosses deep into the instance. It's essentially a set of 4 raid instances, with a capstone instance requiring you to have completed all of the other instances.
If Naxx had been 4 or 5 seperate instances, that would have been okay, but not really any different. Maybe Abom wing, Spider wing, Plague wing, then drop Razuvious and make DK/Frostwyrm one wing. That would shorten up the Sapph/KT leadup, but I don't know that anyone who won't see them given Naxx as is would have seen them if they'd made that change.
But it sounds like that's what they're moving towards.

I think loot pinata bosses are a huge problem for this, actually; if every boss took 2 weeks then by the time you were up to the 4H in Naxx, you'd be geared enough that you could stop AQ. But with loot pinata bosses, you tend to down a new boss faster than you can scratch another off the "loot needed" list. This problem is compounded by the fact that you still have to kill bosses you don't need to reach bosses you do. Guild's "Kill list" only gets longer as you progress.
What's needed are shorter, sweeter instances, and winged instances. If AQ40 had a Skeram -> Fankriss section and a Huhuran --> C'Thun section, guilds could skip Skeram --> Fankriss as their gear got better. Naturally Naxxramas is the worst example with all wings required to open Kel'Thuzad's wing.
This is what I'd like to see. I willingly raid 4 days a week, and out of obligation I make another 1 or 2. I'd like to just make 4 again without having to be in a guild that progresses awfully slowly due to having to waste 75% of those nights on farm content.

Well this kind of indicates the problem in a way right? No one thinks that having 4-5 ~3 hour instances with similar quality rewards makes sense. But that is pretty much what Naxx is. Throw in the requisite farming and the 3 hour number is fairly generous.
Like said above to keep working on new content in Naxx you have to , every single week, do the 10 hours of farm content.
Previously 10 hours a week was more than enough to clear MC, BWL and AQ40 combined back before naxx.
It is just frustrating that the rules for raiding have changed in a way that I think is negative for the players (in real life)

Considering we're clearing 3 wings and 2/3 of DK in 2 4-5 hour days (well, on a good week), I think you're overestimating the amount of time Naxx will take when it's truly on farm status. BWL took 2 days once upon a time too. Now it's 2 hours. Practice and gear shorten things; Naxx as well, although more practice than gear there.
And you *don't* have to do the other 3 wings; if we really wanted to focus on 4HM practice, for example, we could just clear Raz/Gothik and work on 4HM, ignoring the other 3 wings entirely. Until you're on Sapph/KT, you don't have to clear everything, and once you're there, you honestly ought to be able to clear everything before them in 2-3 days.
