For my guild, and I'm sure many others, fielding a whole 40-man group of a good mix is/was extremely difficult at times. Chronically short on druids made our healing perpetually lackluster. I am certainly looking forward to the lower raid sizes.

But on another note, I am still at odds about Blizzard's past raid distribution requirements. Min/maxing per encounter aside, having roughly around 5 of every class to optimize raid potential was another annoyance to add on the 40 person limit.

Now I understand that for the most part having 5 of every class was never needed, there are certainly many encounters in the game that were vastly easier if you did have the right class distribution. Aside from fights where stacking certain classes would help out the boss kill (8 tanks on horsemen?...), it was extremely beneficial to have as close to an evenly distributed raid group as possible.

Now for my point, looking over the new talent trees/spells I am seeing an attempt by Blizzard to break away from the default '5 of every class or have a hard time of it' mentality.

Does anyone else forsee not being as concerned about raid class distribution in the expansion?

Like the many other threads covering this, the general consensus usually is that it's useless to debate this until we see how the classes fare at 70.

There are no raids available for testing in the TBC beta currently. In addition, we lack abilities from levels 68, 69, and 70.

With no actual experience, I'm afraid that the best we can do is speculate wildly.

Fair enough, I guess I'm really just wondering if guilds think they will worry about Min/Maxing as much... This is aimed more at smaller guilds though.
