What is the purpose of the room between Buru and the Hunter in AQ20?

I mean, ignoring the absolute insanity of that trash, what in the world is the purpose of that room?

Not sure why this got heaped.

I'm not sure anyone knows. One version I heard is that the AQ20 turn-in NPCs were once intended to be in there, but they opted to make them more accessible.
