I'm a hunter, we killed patchwerk last week. But I realized a weird "bug" on sustained damage. We did like 30 tries that night, all of them took like 3-5 minutes until the actual kill. And in all of them I used same potions and same rotation and my sustained was either 400'ish or 490'ish. From start to finish. It was like every try, it either started as 400 and ended as 400 or started as 490 and ended as 490. And it was the same with all the other hunters. I even asked questions if the tank forgets to sunder him or something like that in some of the tries, but it wasn't the case. I just wonder if you guys came up with this kind of problem on PW before.

Related to luck with DS8 procs, perhaps? Faerie Fire being inconsistent? CoR being inconsistent?

90 DPS is quite a lot to be explained by a single variable. Fairie Fire / Curse of Recklessness / Sunder Armor should always be up, but no single one of those will increase your DPS by 90.

My immediate thought is that your damage meters may have been taking pets in to account at one point, but not another. A pet might account for about 90 DPS (not sure though).

You sure on some attempts Faerie Fire and/or CoR weren't off / on?

I didn't use my pet at all, so it's not pet. I didn't check if we used Faerie Fire but we didn't use recklessness. We only used COS and COE. But the 2 druids online right now say that they didn't use Faerie Fire. They don't know if the other druids used it or not, probably not. So I doubt it's the curses.

And about lucky crits, I'd suspect it if it was like 30 second wipes. Whenever I started with 490, I did 490 until the end, which is 3-5 minutes. Lucky crits won't give me 90 dps for 4 minute time.

I really don't see how it's possible to do 490 on patchwerk missing both cor and faerie. With both of those up it's extremely plausible, without those buffs you're implying that it's possible to do 670dps (with pet) if you had your debuffs in order? that doesn't compute. Not with pre-patchwerk gear.

It has to be debuff inconsistency.

today a hunter did 540 dps with pet, BM/MM build. His pet did 90 dps so he did 450. And without those curses and FF. But he usually does lower dps than me and today he had mana issues. He said he shot autoshot for a while. So yes 490 without FF and COR is easily doable for hunter without pet.

Were you removing some gear on wipes, and not always reequipping all of it every time?
