So far I think I've read EJ and other WoW fora from 4 continents and at least a dozen cities.

And yes, I've thought that perhaps I should have better things to do with my time, but...
lol... I read it thinking "man that sounds a lot like Tenshi" and then saw it actually was you that posted it.

JUICE! Aww I'm sorry. Did... did anyone want some juice?

I spend more time on the EJ forums at work than I do at home. The IT bastards at my firm actually firewalled "forum" sites briefly until one of the Partners had a hissyfit because he checks Championship Manager forums during lunchtime. Thank god for gaming geeks.

Hm...well, I work in a 2-person-to-an-office type job, and my seniority get me put in the back (away from the door, although I haven't had an officemate for 6 months and won't have one until Wednesday). I've walked in on my boss reading a novel. We don't have much in the way of firewalls because the job I do requires access to nearly everything.

That said, I am almost definitely breaking some guideline about proper internet usage by being here so much :zoid:

See you, auntie.

As a co-op student, I get to work full-time at a different company every 8 months or so. Since I started WoW two year back, I've always chosen and arranged my cubicles for convenient forum browsing. Somehow I still managed to get my work done on time though.

Worst thing I've given up to read forums: sleep and CS assignments.

My blackberry has saved my ass for daily 'gaming' fixes during syndicate meetings or slow trading days.

Actually a good step down method from forum trawling would be to buy one of these geek toys and download the SNES emulator or Warcraft 1.

Either way, your only danger is looking imporant in the coffee line when actually your saving Azeroth (the way it should be done, big armies and the horde getting curb stomped). :D

I routinely peruse these boards on my blackberry waiting for a case to be called in court. Get back to work, charge-by-the-hour lackey!

I figure everyone looks at these at work since well... posting does die off from 8-5. I know I'll try to read a lot in the morning, but after lunch/later in the day, it's forum time

No honestly I am dumb. Most of the I'm playing smart.

My office is a room in the basement of a large office building, also known as the #1 usage of internet bandwidth on the US east coast.

That sounds suspiciously like the building I pass on I-395 everyday.

I tend to only browse these forums when I am at work on a slow day. One of the partners walked in my office last week, saw this site up, and said: "My brother-in-law plays WoW too." The idea of browsing while waiting in court wouldn't occur to me, as the goons here are pretty hardcore about such things.

I've actually played WoW in the Tokyo Narita UA Red Carpet Club, I think I got 2-3 levels done on a hunter alt on that trip. :p

(I was fine doing it since it was a return trip and we were all exhausted, but couldn't sleep yet for fear of missing the flight, and any reasonable work I could do would probably have been wrong/incorrect due to sleep deficiency)

Combining two previous stories, last term I worked co-op for 4 months at RIM where I got a blackberry. Tons of forums browsing potential.

As for Lynx, I use it some times but it drives me crazy how little some website care about a proper tab order. Bah to them.

SQ 1st class loung in LA. Met a fellow wow player doing strat on a druid alt while waiting for the flight to NRT. Was really hoping to land a plane with inflight internet so that I could attend that evenings raid. Didn't happen :(
SQ 1st class lounge in Singapore. During a BWL raid. Latency was a bearable 400ms.
ANA 1st class lounge in NRT. Best latency I have ever experienced. Landline gave me around around 50-100ms.

Never play at work. Forums are a different beast though :)

Yup.

From here on, "Best Practices" theads automatically get heaped.
