When the going gets tough, the druids start playing their warrior alts again.

Seriously though, even if this nerf never happened my future as a feral druid depends solely on itemization. If I'm stuck wearing shadowmoon valley quest items while warriors graduate to tier 6 then that's just as bad as being nerfed into oblivion.

I've still got SOME faith that they'll redesign our tier sets to not entirely suck. But for now it looks like I'll be getting my warrior caught up gear and rep-wise before it's entirely too late.

I don't see why people keep thinking that cat form does sub-par DPS. I'll admit I am somewhat inexperienced and yes, my guild isn't that far (we only have Nightbane left and have yet to get 25 people online for Malgaur, but he'll go down shortly after we do) but I'm confident that I'll be able to be top DPS in a lot of the fights. You can't have blizzard redesign tier 4/5 for tanking just becaue that's what you enjoy doing the most as a druid...

Then again, it's almost like six of one, half a dozen of the other. Our tiered set is either for feral tanking or feral dps, and for proper itemization, they'll need to put in assorted epics to the other trees anyways.

So I was arguing with some server people about druid tanking, of course they're of the opinion that Prot warriors should be the best choice no matter what. I was about to quote our class description where it says "Forms are as powerful as, but less versatile than their counterparts" lo and behold, Blizzard changed our class descrption, strengths, and weaknesses again. "Animal forms are not as powerful as their counterpart classes"

At least they fixed our "Possesses the most powerful buff in the game" to "Possesses a powerful buff that's beneficial to all classes"

Does anyone else have a feeling that the goalposts are moving so fast that the ball will never reach them?

Every time the druid class falls into a lull, I keep thinking back to that stupid class description they once had for us, where our purpose was to provide humor to the world of Azeroth. That about sums things up. And as the last 5 weeks have shown, when you allow the circus clown class to be a real class, people get uppity.

For my part, I'm leveling the 60 warrior I put away about 18 months ago. If you can't beat them, join them. Top PvE class (main tank is the top PvE class), #1 arena PvP class, and they used to be the #1 PvE dps class (and I suspect they will be again before too long). Seriously, if you can't beat them, join them.

I believe that "not as powerful" part was actually changed about 6 months ago. But before that it was indeed how you remembered it.

As for rerolling a warrior? I had one on my last server, and warrior tanking just doesn't appeal to me. The feel just isn't the same..

Depressing that they saw fit to remove such a qualifier, but I suppose it was contentious from the beginning. One that they removed confuses me:

"Transform into cool-looking animals that impress other players and add a lot of character, flavor, and humor to the world"

Which they changed to:

"Can transform into various animal forms which provide unique abilities."

I think they could have safely left the humor part in there, with a qualifier about the humor generally not being appreciated by druids themselves.

I know I'm nitpicking, but that description just seems strange to me. I think 'powerful but not as versatile forms' is a lot closer to the truth.
