Alchemist's Stone Combined With Fel Pots

Has anyone had experience as a tank or caster using the Alchemist's Stone in combination with the Fel potions?

As a tank for example at max 40% increase you would not loose any stats and would be able to renerate 4480 health every two minuets over 24 seconds by using a Fel Regeneration potion. Better than Lifegiving Gem, Greater Stoneshield pots or such or not worth the effort to make and take up a trinket slot?

do we know if the stone makes the stat reductions go away? personally I would expect to see it inflate the stat reductions, if anything

I doubt a tank would ever use Alchemist stone over the new trinkets except maybe a feral druid, who can't drink potions when tanking.

For other classes, a Major Dreamless gives more returns in less time. I really can't see anyone other than a hunter or a desperate healer using the fel mana potions.

Major Dreamless takes you out of the game for 12 seconds, though, while the fel mana pots let you keep casting. A loss of 25 spell damage isn't that bad, compared to a loss of 100% of DPS for 12 seconds; assuming -25 spell damage drops your DPS by 3%, you're looking at around 400 seconds of DPS time before the spell damage loss hurts you more than the time loss from MDS.

Fel Mana also allows you to pop it earlier, since you get it over time and are still emptying your mana pool while you regain mana, getting your timers going faster, which can be beneficial to some classes (Bekah had a nice post about the advantages of Fel Mana in the spriest thread).

Clearly law school has done wonders for me.

Except that it means the healer is not doing anything for 12 seconds. The fel mana potion works while casting, restoring 3200 mana. If you have to break out of a dreamless sleep to toss a heal before it is done restoring mana, the fel mana potion has just outdone the dreamless sleep.

*Edit* Dammit, had to alt tab before hitting post due to boss entering the area.

One of our druids used to pop these all the time on boss fights. Why? because when you have 1200+healing, 25 spell damage isn't so much. The mana gained is better and consistent. And usually if we wipe/ time between next boss is larger than 15 minutes.

(Of course since that time we converted him into our main tank)

actualy a healer loses 50healing from it even though the pot says 25dmg/heal but the combo of giving more on average and beeing over time to start pot timers earlier definitly makes them worth using. For me it's more a matter of cost of the potions, if I wanted to go full out on pots then atleast 2 fellmana pots each boss fight would be an obvious chooice.

I dont think I would ever open into a 'Potion-cycle' with a Fel one, I'ld probly start using 1 when things are looking kind of 'dire' and again if things dont seem to be improving.

This falls into my category of a desperate healer. If a tank can't live for 12 seconds without me healing then of course I'm not going to use a GDS, this is a situation that only occurs in heroics/gruul/prince/nightbane right now.
