Sublime Mystic Dawnstone

Sublime Mystic Dawnstone

This items says "+10 Resilience," but that leaves me somewhat vexed. There are no items that say +10 Defense or +10 Spell Crit that I can find.

From the All Class Level 70 Stat conversions page, 1% Resilience = 39.4 Resilience rating = 1% less chance to be crit, 2% less critical strike damage.

Does this mean that +10 Resilience = +10% Resilience = 10% less chance to be crit, 20% less critical strike damage = 394 Resilience?

That seems completely unreasonable to me, as such an item would be incredibly overpowered--moreso than any other item in the game.

My question is this: If 1% Resilience = 39.4 Resilience Rating, what Resilience Rating = +1 Resilience?

Wowwiki (http://www.wowwiki.com/Resilience) did not help me solve this problem, so hopefully you all can.

Thanks in Advance,
Execration

You can safely assume that +10 Resilience means +10 Resilience rating.

theres just no way they'd put in a 10% resilience. Think about it.

Fair enough. I guess I was having delusions of grandeur Thanks for the responses.

It just also seems that 500 tokens for an epic item that you would need 4 of to eclipse 1% crit reduction / 2% crit damage reduction seems a little steep as well.

If you're positive the conversion is 1 Resilience = 1 Resilience Rating, please redirect me to your source so I can confirm for myself; however, I talked to a GM yesterday about the item and he assured me that 10 Resilience =/= 10 Resilience Rating. Unlike the "Defenses" tab in the character menu which will show you the amount of Defense (not +Defense Rating) that you have, Resilience is a direct 1-to-1 corrolation according to the menu. Upon mentioning this to the GM, he thanked me for "making him aware of this issue," but he would not go on to tell me the actual conversion for 1 Resilience Rating compared to 1 Resilience. His statement led me to believe that the dropdown menu should be reading a different value, though I can not confirm, and I unfortunately did not take any screenshots. At the time, it was a rather casual inquiry.

This only shows you that GMs know little about actual game mechanics.

I think the general assumption isn't that "1 resilience = 1 resilience rating", it's that the tooltip on that item is just missing a word, and all the item actually does is give you 10 resilience rating. Because if the tooltip were correct the item would be ridiculously good.

If equipping the gem increases your character sheet's total resilience rating by exactly 10 I think you can take it as proof that the "lol typo" theory is valid.

I saw someone's Armory profile, the gem certainly only gives 10 resilience rating, it is a tooltip bug.
