Unusually powerful Judgement of Light?

Now in theory judgement of light heals for 95, 115 with set bonus. Does anyone know what causes it to heal for 250-500?

It only happens on certain mobs yet sometimes it doesn't happen on the same mobs.

A string of heals such as 290 290 115 is possibly with no major variables changing that I noticed.

When taking off my healing weapon +282healing, the judgement changed from 276 to 250.

Possibly dumb question: Who is the healing attributed to - the mob? If so does mob self-buffs have an effect on JoL?

That's a dramatic percentage difference, this is the only thing I can think of.

Could it be a 20% boost from fel armor/quick recovery or amp magic, or something like that? I can't think of any other modifiers.

It counts as self healing like leader of the pack. Some sort of mob buff was one of my theories too, detect magic was blank turned up nothing and it works on too many mobs. Here are some numbers of what I'm talking about:

Khazal (rogue)
Gruul
181 procs 297 average 473 max

Magtherion
182 procs 294 average 427 max

Magtherion's trash also provides increased JoL... sometimes.

edit: Yeah thats definetly part of it Cel. Wodin another one of our fine rogues had max numbers of 394 and 356 during those fights. Warriors, druids and the rest are still all showing averages over 260.

For reference, I don't think I've ever seen heals for over 115 while soloing. I have seen it happen very rarely in instances. Perhaps its something to do with mobs that are over level 70?

For what it's worth, it works without Quick Recovery, so it's not that.

One other thing that could possibly boost the healing is a Tree druid in the group with those getting the extra healing?

It seems like it is sometimes linked to the paladin's +healing at a generous coefficient. The question is, under what circumstances?

I've seen it happen on Warp Splinter myself.

Multiple times, actually...

I recall seeing it in Naxx, actually, quite a few times, and we never did isolate what caused it.

Can it be a combat log glitch, where it combines 2 heals together?

My guess is amplify magic, it worked with the Diamond Flask(Warrior Sunken Temple Quest Reward) It was supposed to be 9ish healing every 5, but got affected by +100 healing taken from old Amplify magic and healed for 109. Rocked on Loatheb

I'm so glad someone else has seen this. I figured I was going crazy. I saw this for the first time on Gruul last week and when I said something in the paladin channel, they were all totally confused at what I was reporting.

I didn't have Quick Recovery, but I did have amp magic. My group has a warrior, rogue, rogue, rogue, enhancement shm. Sometimes I'd be getting the usual 95 point heals, but then it would seemingly randomly spike up into the 300s.

At first we just thought it was a UI hiccup, but I turned on combat logging and there in the logs you'd see things like:

3/27 22:42:57.946 Your Seal of Light heals you for 95.
......
3/27 22:43:01.952 Your Seal of Light heals you for 313.

If you want to see the whole combatlog or parse it for yourself, it's sitting at http://www.ironyguild.com/raidstats/gruul_032707_1.zip but after looking it over, there weren't any anomalies that I could see.

More than tripling the amount healed puts it out of the range of SoL somehow critting, and the pallies in question weren't changing out their healing gear mid-fight, so I'm kind of left without a clue on this one.

People have brought this up while fighting gruul trash. It's not consistent at all so something as simple as amp magic or something along those lines really can't be it.
