Unusually powerful Judgement of Light?
Now in theory judgement of light heals for 95, 115 with set bonus. Does anyone know what causes it to heal for 250-500?
It only happens on certain mobs yet sometimes it doesn't happen on the same mobs.
A string of heals such as 290 290 115 is possibly with no major variables changing that I noticed.
When taking off my healing weapon +282healing, the judgement changed from 276 to 250.

Possibly dumb question: Who is the healing attributed to - the mob? If so does mob self-buffs have an effect on JoL?
That's a dramatic percentage difference, this is the only thing I can think of.

Could it be a 20% boost from fel armor/quick recovery or amp magic, or something like that? I can't think of any other modifiers.

It counts as self healing like leader of the pack. Some sort of mob buff was one of my theories too, detect magic was blank turned up nothing and it works on too many mobs. Here are some numbers of what I'm talking about:
Khazal (rogue)
Gruul
181 procs 297 average 473 max
Magtherion
182 procs 294 average 427 max
Magtherion's trash also provides increased JoL... sometimes.
edit: Yeah thats definetly part of it Cel. Wodin another one of our fine rogues had max numbers of 394 and 356 during those fights. Warriors, druids and the rest are still all showing averages over 260.
For reference, I don't think I've ever seen heals for over 115 while soloing. I have seen it happen very rarely in instances. Perhaps its something to do with mobs that are over level 70?

For what it's worth, it works without Quick Recovery, so it's not that.

One other thing that could possibly boost the healing is a Tree druid in the group with those getting the extra healing?

It seems like it is sometimes linked to the paladin's +healing at a generous coefficient. The question is, under what circumstances?

Can it be a combat log glitch, where it combines 2 heals together?

My guess is amplify magic, it worked with the Diamond Flask(Warrior Sunken Temple Quest Reward) It was supposed to be 9ish healing every 5, but got affected by +100 healing taken from old Amplify magic and healed for 109. Rocked on Loatheb

I'm so glad someone else has seen this. I figured I was going crazy. I saw this for the first time on Gruul last week and when I said something in the paladin channel, they were all totally confused at what I was reporting.
I didn't have Quick Recovery, but I did have amp magic. My group has a warrior, rogue, rogue, rogue, enhancement shm. Sometimes I'd be getting the usual 95 point heals, but then it would seemingly randomly spike up into the 300s.
At first we just thought it was a UI hiccup, but I turned on combat logging and there in the logs you'd see things like:
3/27 22:42:57.946 Your Seal of Light heals you for 95.
......
3/27 22:43:01.952 Your Seal of Light heals you for 313.
If you want to see the whole combatlog or parse it for yourself, it's sitting at http://www.ironyguild.com/raidstats/gruul_032707_1.zip but after looking it over, there weren't any anomalies that I could see.
More than tripling the amount healed puts it out of the range of SoL somehow critting, and the pallies in question weren't changing out their healing gear mid-fight, so I'm kind of left without a clue on this one.

People have brought this up while fighting gruul trash. It's not consistent at all so something as simple as amp magic or something along those lines really can't be it.

Hmmm just checked over a few hours of Gruul and no anomolies like this at all. Only variance is QR rogues getting 114. Pretty sure we had Amp Magic for at least some attempts.

I've noticed this at least once per raid, i'd estimate.
Really love it when it happens in an AOE'ing encounter and i heal myself to full in a matter of seconds.
I never have amplify on me, so scratch that.
Seems to happen in a totally random fashion.

3/28 22:15:58.203 Ikegotih's Seal of Light heals Ikegotih for 115.
So the first time it happened and lasted <2 seconds. The second time it lasted 11 seconds. There's nothing else in the combatlog before/after this periods that seemed unusual.

Another vote for completely random. I've seen it in many unrelated situations including grinding mobs with a paladin (no amp magic).
I am curious if this is the result of something with the paladin or something to do with the receiver of the heal.
Do all people in the raid hitting the target receive a higher heal at approximately the same time (suggesting the first)? or is it intermittent and randomly happening to raid members (suggesting the second)?.

I noticed from that combat log that in between :
3/27 22:43:00.740
3/27 22:43:01.581
Something occured and caused every seal of light after that they healed for 313 where as before they only healed for 95. Now I wonder what that thing was.

Well, here's that time-slice blown out with the obviously meaningless data removed (melee, hits, random people getting extra attacks, etc):
--
3/27 22:43:00.740 Your Seal of Light heals you for 95.
3/27 22:43:01.031 Gruul the Dragonkiller suffers 358 Shadow damage from Sychosymatic's Corruption. (92 resisted)
3/27 22:43:01.261 Ashelina gains 49 Mana from Ashelina's Greater Blessing of Wisdom.
3/27 22:43:01.261 Tricky gains 49 Mana from Ashelina's Greater Blessing of Wisdom.
3/27 22:43:01.261 Vyns gains 50 Mana from Ashelina's Greater Blessing of Wisdom.
3/27 22:43:01.261 Diemess gains 49 Mana from Ashelina's Greater Blessing of Wisdom.
3/27 22:43:01.561 Gruul the Dragonkiller suffers 256 Shadow damage from Muzdakh's Siphon Life.
3/27 22:43:01.561 Gruul the Dragonkiller is afflicted by Unstable Affliction.
3/27 22:43:01.561 Gruul the Dragonkiller is afflicted by Deadly Poison VII.
3/27 22:43:01.561 Gruul the Dragonkiller is afflicted by Mind Flay.
3/27 22:43:01.571 Gruul the Dragonkiller is afflicted by Shadow Vulnerability (4).
3/27 22:43:01.581 Hankhill's Seal of Light heals Hankhill for 313.
3/27 22:43:01.581 Deitin's Seal of Light heals Deitin for 313.
3/27 22:43:01.952 Your Seal of Light heals you for 313.
--
So from the target-centric point of view, Gruul had just had a few debuffs applied to him. From the paladin centric point of view, they all just got tics from BoW (Tricky, Ashe, Vyns, and Diemess are all paladins).
Gurg, can you post the time-slice of your log leading up to the increased SoL procs instead of the filtered version to see if there are any commonalities with those debuffs or BoW?

3/28 22:16:00.609 Loderunner's Seal of Light heals Loderunner for 346.
Hmm.....
Edit: Confirmed. Searching for "afflicted by Unstable" throughout my log, every single time it appears, Seal of Light healing goes up instantly after.
The magnified Seal values do not last as long as Unstable does, however. There can be Unstable ticks going on while Seal value is normal. But application of Unstable does instantly modify it, for some short duration. The next question is, what makes it stop and revert to normal?

The only common thing I see between the 3 logs is Gruul gaining Unstable Affliction but I can't see any reasoning for that effecting Seal of Light. Perhaps it is just a random bug. I think more combat log samples are required.

Well with this update perhaps there is some hidden bug accociated with Unstable Afflication and Seal of Light.
Edit 2: Gurg don't suppose you could host that combat log somewhere, I've got some spare time currently and wouldn't mind have a looking both of them and comparing them.

Just tested on a paladin alt and a lock with UA. It's definitely UA that triggers it, but the window is really short before it goes back down to normal. It seems like it's the 3s before the first tic of UA. Unfortunately the mobs that the pal could tank were not really suitable for long term testing, but it generally fit the pattern of any heal proc after UA applied and before UA tic'd would be a bigger heal.
3/31 12:41:14.543 Diseased Black Bear is afflicted by Unstable Affliction.
3/31 12:41:14.993 You crit Diseased Black Bear for 115.
3/31 12:41:15.134 Your Judgement of Light heals you for 235.
3/31 12:41:17.277 Lennore hits Diseased Black Bear for 52. (glancing)
3/31 12:41:17.277 Diseased Black Bear suffers 397 Shadow damage from Lennore's Unstable Affliction.
3/31 12:41:17.577 Your Judgement of Light heals you for 49.
Gurg, do your logs show the SoL heals going back down after the first tic of UA?
