The Unyielding Setbonus

Hello, I have a question about the Unyielding set (Tailoring belt + bracer). Has anybody tested how the bonus "Reduces melee damage taken by 5" is calculated? Is it really as weak as 2995 instead of 3000 Mortal Strike crits or am I missing something?

Even if it is that 'weak', after a game of 5on5 it still adds up to a fair amount of damage.

As for your question, I don't know.

it is just that weak. but its free, considering that the resilience/stam you get from the set stands on its own. a fine substitute for the pvp epics, and probably the cheapest crafted epic.

The set bonus really removes 5 damage from each melee attack, so you example is correct.

However, even at AH prices, the bracers are at 60g and the belt is at 160g + nether fee, so that is cheap for the stam/resilence/bonus that the items give.

I consider Unyielding belt better than the epic PvP belt (I do not use the bracers though).

Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'

The belt is a bit more expensive than that on most servers. I'd estimate it at ~400g before nether in our economy. Definitely better than the pvp belt, and the bracers do a decent job until you can grab the pvp ones.

You also forgot that, unlike an MS warrior, rogues, enhancement shamans and feral druids land most of their damage in a lot more smaller hits. It'll add up a lot more against someone hitting you three times a second than it will against someone hitting you every 4 seconds.
