Kill Command and Oddities.
 

I'll preface this with the comment that I don't really play an Hunter so much as I've just had one forever. Since way back I've used my little alt to farm, well, frankly whatever I want to be farming. He's herb/mining and frankly I still prefer farming with him over my mage even when my mage is typically 2-3 tiers in gear ahead of the old fella.

Regardless, I do like my math and I do like to know my mechanics but here is what I just keep seeing and not understanding. With the changes coming to KC it might even matter.

KC does these things for me when I use it, and I tend to use it a lot farming primals as a BM hunter in pretty crappy gear. It hits for 3-350 or it crits for ~650. That makes sense. It also varies on clickies, procs, talents used, what effects are up and so on. The variation though is a few dozen damage points and again, I get it. Here is what I don't get, sometimes it crits for ~950-1k+. I don't know why, I've delved the logs and frankly, I'm stumped. Even with 5% from trollishness and every sign under the sun lining up, I have no idea why it should ever hit that hard. Worse yet, it *never* hits for 700-900 period... it only hits, crits or super-crits.

Silly topic, delete at will, yada yada. Just tell me what I'm missing here before I go completely insane please.

Mb bestial wrath?

As said above, you'll get substantially higher hits/crits when your pet is under the effect of Bestial Wrath.

Kill command takes a normal pet hit and adds flat damage to it. So anything that increases your pet's damage will increase KC damage as well.

50% damage bonus from BW would make your 3-350 dmg hits become 450-525, which would crit for 900-1050, and that's exactly like the numbers you're noticing, so I think that's probably what's going on.

However if you're saying that your pet isn't wrathed, and you're still seeing that difference... then I have no idea bro.
