[Tanking] Java Tanking Simulator
I was going through blue.cardplace.com, and found this interesting app that simulates damage mitigation. Here's the link for the thread, but please bear in mind that as this is not a spreadsheet, exercise caution. This is not my application. The author appears to be Morn of the guild Executus.
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread....geNo=1&sid=1#0 Impressions: It is interesting, however as it is more about long term mitigation, it assumes a bit too much for it to be too useful. It assumes no special attacks, ie: a static attack speed. It also assumes talents like Improved Shield Block (though I don't really mind that). The focus of the software appears to be comparing Paladin, Warrior, and Druid stats. |
I've seen it before. It sets a good standard comparison for outright mitigation, even though fights will diverge from it in game. Not sure about the accuracy of the Paladin/Druid/Warrior comparisons, however

edit : didn't realize the full capabilities of said program.

There is an even better simulator for paladin tanks. It simulates healers as well including their stats so you can get an idea of if you have enough healing power. It also simulates a boss special attack on a timer so you can see if you die of burst damage. http://maintankadin.failsafedesign.com/tankSim/ WTB Druid/Warrior support. |
