Class Specific Hub Poll
Looking to see how much interest there is for such a thing. Essentially it would be a website tailored to a specific class, full with forums for specific specs, articles on the class itself, strategies and forums specific to that class. Basically the end-all resource for that class, from discussion to strategies.
If it isn't too much trouble, I would also appreciate if you would indicate in a post following your vote why or why not you would be interested. Do you feel you already know the class you represent extremely well? What would make you more apt to be partial to such a guide, if anything? Also, if you could post your guild progression as well, that would be ideal. Thanks in advance.

If you're talking about something on the level of the Safehouse or Druid's Grove of EQ1 days, I'm all for it.
The key thing is moderated forums that are of higher quality than the WoW forums. Essentially all the other functions you've described above come down to preserving the best-of those forums.

Druids already have a pretty good resource in http://druid.wikispaces.com/ that covers just about everything you mentioned except user forums. Between that site and this one, I feel that my class-specific curiosities are already more than satisfied.

I never played Everquest and WoW is my first online game, so I'm not quite sure what those sites would entail. It doesn't necessarily have to be Druids either, every class would suffice.

I voted "impartial". As someone mentioned, my main class (druid) already has such a site with pretty much all info most people could want about druids. Specs etc. are easily discussed on the official WoW class forums, so honestly i don't see the necessity for a new forum for these things to be discussed.
As for a site with specific information and game mechanics its okay though since druids only have one. Having other classes have something similar would be very interesting.

The Druid Wiki is currently outdated and is scheduled for a major WotLK overhaul. If you are looking for information on druids, i would suggest browsing these forums for now.

I would like to see a well moderated hunter site. With so much misinformation it would be nice to have a place to compire the myriad of relevent things needed to hunter decently.

For many people here, these forums are exactly what they are looking for in terms of 'good moderated, high quality' discussion.
I wouldnt mind a portal that mirrors most of the important guides, tests, etc.. but in the end, it's nothing my bookmarks couldnt do.

I think what I am most interested in is "X class for dummies". I would like to know more about warlocks, but it can be overwhelming trying to delve into all the threads here to figure out basic specifics that most warlocks here already know.

Search for Warlocks Den , its the best Warlock speciifc site out there. Nicely moderated by the slightly zealous site owner.
Not close to EJ when it comes to intelligent theory craft and game discussion..then again nothing is.

Not Helpful.

Reading about one class and not the rest of them is a great way to lose sight of the big picture, which is one of the reasons that I greatly enjoy reading EJ.

I voted for Somewhat Interested, personally I don't feel the need for it, but I think it may be nice to punt all uneducated scrubs out there to brush up on their class :P

Second this, there's a lot that I feel is too basic to ask here, but too advanced to ask on the WoW class forums (plus, I can't stand the WoW class forums for more than about 5 seconds before I run away screaming, afraid my intelligence will be adversely affected by what I see there ).
There's also shadowpriest.com... is there a healypriest.com? I could use something like that.

There's one for rogues, as well. Forums.roguespot.com, and there used to be the Jazetta DPS calculator etc for the web

I'd be interested only if there was a way to get a large user base. Often, class-specific forums don't get enough users and die off too quickly.

Agreed. Nothing sucks more than a great forum with no traffic (read, shadow-gaming.net's pvp forums).

Although there is tons of "Healing 101" information out there, there is very little content on advanced topics and virtually none on coordinated healing in a raid situation.
A class hub would be a great place to discuss both basic and advanced topics. Very welcome IMHO.

I could see a need for a collaboration of basic information, but a community (forums) is only as strong as its member base. It would need a sufficient population and have knowledgeable forum regulars to answer questions, which I don't think you're going to find something that beats ej for that.
The only down side to ej for all class related info needs is it is often cumbersome to find helpful information without sorting through countless posts, but its great if you read every post.

I prefer all the class discussions in the same forum, no particular class has enough movement to warrant its own thread. Plus I like to read about all the classes not just the two I play so I can understand what they bring to both PvP and the Raid game. Isolating the classes I would miss a lot of good information.

The problem with a hug is who controls it. There is tons, tons, TONS of misinformation posted regularly. Or just generally conflicting ideas. The thought has crossed my mind, but I don't like to do something if it's not done right, and moderating a site like that would take a considerable time commitment (as my friends at shadowgaming are learning the hard way =p).
Edit: I meant hub, but that typo is funny enough I decided to leave it.

It would be nice if it were heavily moderated, and there weren't already several alternate forums for people to turn to - having posts diluted across even more forums would not be very helpful imho.

I am somewhat interested in seeing this, but those type of sites would need a lot of moderation, because they is a lot of disinformation out there that people like to share.

Quite honestly I rather enjoy reading up on other classes and specs randomly on this board by looking at "new posts"
