Holy Paladin Professions
 

I'm currently leveling up a Paladin with the intention of raiding Holy at 70 and maybe a bit of tanking in 5 mans. Right now, I have Enchanting and Jewelcrafting and am kinda ehhh about both of them. From what I know about Paladins, the Blacksmithing gear I've seen has been kinda lackluster. Is that completely true? Another thing I was wondering about is with the upcoming Illumination nerf, will potting become so effective that an Alchemist's Stone is pretty much needed? I am considering Alchemy at the moment but am unsure what profession to drop. I'm really digging the Owl trinkets from Jewelcrafting and Enchanting my rings sounds nice but I'm not really seeing much from either profession beyond that.

So I guess my main question is just regarding the Illumination nerf and if an Alchemist's Stone basically becomes required after that. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm really satisfied with jewelcrafting, I love the Talasite Owl.....why don't you just keep jewelcrafting, skip enchanting and take alchemy instead for both trinkets, when you don't bother having to farm mats for your professions with another char?

I have my doubts concerning the longlivity of JC trinkets though. They are not upgradeable items, already in some cases outshined by current drops.

Enchanting on the other hand gives you the ability to DE items and enchant your rings. (there have been alot of times I've wished I had enchanting instead of tailoring)

To answer your question: Alchemist's Stone will never be 'required' for any class, simply because this would be very flawed design. Even after the Illu nerf palas will have alot of longlivity talents.
Yes, we'll have to use alot more mana pots then we used to, but in the end, we'll still be better off then shamans.

But since you are looking for a profession with a BoP perk for healers, alchemy seems to be the best choice.
