[Warrior] Piercing Howl and MT TPS

There are some raid mobs (such as tidewalker) that are completely immune to the debuff from shield bash (ie. heroic strike does not gain damage after shield bash), but are not immune to the debuff from piercing howl. I do not feel that piercing howl should be part of a tanks threat rotation due to the fact that the ability itself generates 0 threat. However, normally I personally do not tank tidewalker.

So my question is this, on a mob like tidewalker where the shield bash debuff is not applyable, but piercing howl is, would it be worthwhile for a second warrior to maintain that debuff on the mob to amplify the threat of the primary tank?

Heroic strike causes ~70 more damage (pre mitigation) against dazed targets. With a 1.6 speed weapon, 20% armor, and defiance/defensive stance this will equate to roughly 50 TPS. This is notable, but not alone worthy of 25% a warrior's cooldown timers.

However, Hunters also benefit from dazed targets. Steady shot will do 175 increased base damage vs. dazed targets. At a 1.5 second cast time, this is up to a 700 bonus damage per hunter in the raid.

Can anyone list the abilities and spells that cause daze, and those affected by it?

I can think of HS as benefiting, shield bash as causing...does the daze from PH Count? Given the above, I suppose I should assume it does

rogue have Blade Twisting, still?

The whole Daze thing initially looked like interesting raid synergy, but it looks to have been almost entirely scrapped.

See you, auntie.

I have absolutely no evidence for this but I'm sure I read that the Piercing Howl daze doesn't count as daze for the abilities that are granted a small benefit from it. It always stuck with me because it seemed the most idiotic design choice if true.

It does indeed increase the damage of heroic strike (piercing howl).

Unless it was changed, piercing howl does NOT cause a +HS damage daze effect.

It could have been changed, I just don't remember it being in any patch notes, and I haven't been specced PH for months.

Just tested a moment ago, it certainly does apply the +damage from dazed for HS (with piercing howl)

Assuming you have DW Fury warriors in the raid, their HS damage would be improved by PH as well, no?

I'll model this into my TPS sheet as an uptime average.

Dps warriors filling the bt, ww gcd gap with one ph should be enough for close to 100% uptime.
