Good luck, Ald.
You've come a long way from the somewhat-exasperated math guy that used to nudge his lazy old GM towards proper gear selection as we learned C'Thun to the person that has one of the most recognized names in the rogue community. Thank you again for helping me personally in the old days, and for taking your knowledge and benefitting the community as a whole. I hope you're back to the raiding game soon, or at the very least for WotLK. Hit me up on your druid late night so we can continue to chat. <3

I'll toss in as well, I've been an ardent supporter of the gear sheet for a long time, and that is 100% due to your thoroughness and absolute rigor to getting "correct" answers rather than having a position and trying to force it down people's throats. You've been a huge benefit to the community, and I wish you the best.

Thanks for all of your work throughout this expansion. Your sheet proved invaluable during my time as a raiding rogue and has been helpful to the raiding rogues of my guild.

Your spreadsheet renewed my interest in making my rogue the best it could be, and following this thread as it evolved taught me some things I had never known. I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you've done, and I hope, like everyone else, that you find what made the game fun for you again by the time WotLK comes out.

So, a couple of things.
First off, this thread was closed during my break from the community/game, so I didn't get to say thanks to everyone for their kind words in the preceding page and a half. It's always nice to know one's work is appreciated.
Second, you'll note that the thread is no longer closed. Before we go any further, I'd just like to clarify: this by no means implies that I'm going back on my decision to retire from this project. I believed then, and still believe now, that RogueCalc is the way to do modeling going forwards, so I'm going to spend time on that rather than this.
So, given this, why did I reopen the thread? Two reasons.
1) It was recently called to my attention that there are some mistakes in the items list; both Swift Blade of Uncertainty and Blade of Serration were entered incorrectly, which struck me as the sort of thing that should probably be corrected at some point. Thus, I corrected it, which is why you'll find 0.10.4 in the first post, both as a Savefile link and also attached to the first post directly.
2) The major reasons I have reopened this is that I believe there is a discussion that wants to be had here. As noted in point 1, people are still finding bugs with this. Our understanding of the game is *still* changing. And as such, even in a relatively mature sheet like this one, there are still, from time to time, changes that need to be made. And, over the course of the last page or two, there was a bit of discussion over where people were interested in continuing to maintain the sheet and whatever. Hence, the primary purpose of the reopening of this thread is to allow a brief discussion of where we go from here. Once a course of action has been decided on, I'll be re-closing the thread.
So, with that introduction, my thoughts on the future of this sheet:
First, my role with the future of the sheet: as noted, I'm done developing this. If this gets left in my hands, I might release a revision every now and again to fix blatant bugs like the aforementioned itemization glitches - but that will be it. I have no intention of making any modeling changes or adding any new features.
However, if it is decided that someone else is going to take this sheet over and start maintaining it, I would be happy to spend a couple of days giving them a guided tour of the sheet, to explain what's happening, where, and why. And I would be available for consultation if people run into parts of it that they don't understand.
Second, on whether to just call this sheet totally done, or whether to continue maintaining it. I think one of the major advantages this sheet has had in it's history is the fact that it has always been written and maintained by the same person, for well over a year. The problem the DPS sheet ran into for a time is that it had a new owner every 4-6 months, and a number of periods where it had no owner at all and anyone who wanted to was just submitting changes to it. When this happens, there is no assurance of quality; there is no one responsible for making sure that all changes make sense; and there is no one who fully understands what all is happening with the stupid thing. This is the surest way to have a sheet get in trouble. As such, if development of this is going to continue in any capacity, it is going to be because one person takes ownership of it and agrees to be responsible for keeping it in good shape for the next... while. I'm not expecting such a stewardship to last as long as mine did, necessarily, but it would be expected that they'd be running the show for at least a few months (like, until the expansion, at least).
That said, I think it's also fine to leave the sheet the way it is. It's pretty good, and bug reports are infrequent enough that it's probably okay the way it is for that timeframe as well. So if people would prefer to see this simply end rather than have someone else take it over, that's fine too.
Thus, the decision, as I see it, is: should the sheet be handed off to a single person to continue maintaining it, and, if so, who; or should it simply be retired.
So, with all that said, this is what I would ask of you, the community:
1) If you have thoughts on this issue you feel would benefit the community, feel free to post in this thread. If you don't have such thoughts, please don't post.
2) If you simply would like to express a preference between leaving it and having someone else take it over, feel free to PM it to me.
3) If you'd like to volunteer to take this over, you may post in this thread if you wish, or you may PM me about it.
Once I've surveyed public decision a bit and seen if anyone is interested in taking it over that I trust to do a good job, I will make a decision as to what I think will be best for the sheet, and at that point this thread will again be closed. In the meantime, please restrict conversation in the thread to specifically the topics listed. Thanks.

I think the sheet is fine as is. I think it's accurate enough to serve the stated purpose, and complete enough to last until the expansion. I think handing the sheet off to someone else to maintain is going to either:
1. Be pointless, since there would be very little for the new maintainer to do with it.
2. Change the sheet causing new bugs and new versions and more confusion.
My vote is to leave the current version as the final version, and move on to new modeling techniques (RogueCalc) for the expansion.

So, based on the overall feedback I've received, I have decided that I will not be making an official handoff to anyone for this sheet. This is not to say that people can't or won't make their own modifications of it, but at the current time there will be no officially sanctioned versions of this sheet from this point further, other than whatever minor bugfixes I may or may not choose to perform. The general feeling is that the sheet is sufficient for the moment, and issues that the Rogue DPS Sheet has had over it's history due to multiple authors have made people leery of further authors on this sheet.
As such, this sheet is no longer being developed, this thread no longer needs to be open, which is why I have closed it. If you have any questions, comments, bugs, etc. that you'd like to let me know about, I suggest PM as a means of so doing.
On a related note, if you're interested in borrowing from this sheet for your own projects, that's generally fine. If you're just grabbing a few formulas here and there, go ahead; if you're looking to take a larger chunk out of it like a whole page or some such, run it by me on PMs - I'll probably say yes, I just want to keep track of such things.
