[Paladin] Offsetting Retribution
Hello,
Long time reader, first time poster. My guild has recently asked one of our paladins to spec ret, to see how the 3% crit debuff and the new Improved Sanctity Aura works out for us. While I feel that using a DPS spot for a (somewhat undergeared) ret pally would not boost everyone elses damage by the amount lost by taking, say a rogue, over a ret pally, I couldn't seem to find any hard data or intelligent discussion about it anywhere. I see no ret pally threads in this forum, probably for good reason. Anyway, what I am asking is, how much DPS would I need to be putting out to make the trade off worthwhile. My guild isnt an uber guild by any means, here is a WWStats of a recent sloppy gruul kill to give you an idea on how the DPS'ers in the guild perform. http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=awu5x25arlm53&m I went to the WoW forums to gather data on target AP and Crit rating for a ret pally starting Kara, and I exceed the modest 1400 ap 22% crit values by significant amounts in my ret gear. If any mathematical minds greater than mine (my head for figures declined suddenly after leaving full time education) could come up with an answer to my question, that would be great. Thankyou for your time. |

Whoops, my bad, I only checked out the class mechanics forum.

To be fair at this point that thread really should probably be here. It started as a discussion about whether or not it was a good idea to take along a retadin and moved into theorycraft of how to max ret DPS.
