Question on Elemental Stats

I´ve noticed my spell damage is pretty low in my own opinion atleast. (It´s only 655) At first I´ve been really heavy into scoring more critical rating but with the new nerf to Elemental Focus (:/) I thought it might be nice to see how much more spell damage I can achieve. Calculating new gear at a REASONABLE rate. No SSC or above since my guild has only killed Gruul/Mag attempts. But here is what I´ve come down with. If a space is left empty it is because its not a piece I´m looking or really needs to be updated.

Head -
Necklace -

Shoulders - I thought about maybe trying my luck at Cyclone Shoulders for two reasons, the 2 piece set bonus and the spell damage is more tempting now. But for now I´m calculating my Gladiator shoulders. I figured +18 from 2x Living Rubies and +18 from a Scryer enchant which I´m not too far off rep-wise from exalted.

Chest - I realized the power of sockets when I looked at Tidefury chestguard and regret not rolling on it when I had the chance. Although it looks a lot nicer PVE wise than Worldfire, which is what I´m using now. The arena chest is simply not an option because I´m currently trying for the one handed weapon. I gain 16 spell damage using the Topaz/Nightseye filling in the sockets correctly and some hit rating to boot as well.

Wrists - As for wrists I felt the crafted ones by tailors might be a nice change. Bracers of Havok would offer me a loss of 8 crit rating but an increase in spell damage by 24 counting a 15 spell damage enchant. I´m not sure how great this specific change would be but I was really just trying to see how much more spell damage I could fit in. Gem wise I´d be using a Potent NT in the socket slot. :p

Weapon - Arena 1H Weapon or Nathrezim MB. I´d rather take the safer route and I plan on getting the Arena 1 Hander but plans might change. : )

Shield/Off Hand - It says Jewel but don´t take me as an idiot. Off-hands on most occasion are way better than shields and because the extra 3-4k armor wont save you from a boss hit which you shouldn´t be taking then its only natural the Jewel is a nice off-hand to maintain a decent hit rating for PVE. I´m two badges off the shield and I´m not sure what is better. This is also another question I´d like to ask.

Hand/Waist/Legs/Boots -

Rings - Honestly most rings in TBC are solid more or less but if I wanted to try swapping in a Seers Signet and trying for the Ring of Unrelenting Storms which I still never seen drop running the Kara raids I went on. If I did the math. I´d be another 32 spell damage higher.

Trinkets - I´m not sure what to do on the trinkets. I´m thinking of saving for a Icon of the SC instead of the shield. I´ve never gotten a Quag Eye to drop for me yet. Lightning Capacitator was also an option but I´m not sure the possibility of getting one is very high. :p

All in all doing the math it can be read off like this.

Item Change Hit Crit DMG

Ring of Unrelenting Storm 0 +2 +22
Seer´s Signet 0 -1 +11
Arena 1H 0 -20 +68
Quag´s Eye 0 -32 +37
Icon of the SC 0 -30 +43
Bracers of Havok 0 -16 +30
Tidefury Chest 10 -22 +16
Gladiator Shoulder 0 -16 +36

I might have made a tiny mistake on the numbers but double checking this is what the sum comes out to. -133 Spell Crit Rating (Ouch.), 10 Hit Rating, 263 Spell Damage.

The question is...Is it worth the loss of crit to achieve a much higher spell damage rate, especially even more so with the new Elemental Focus nerf?

Also I´d settle for some balance and if it comes down to that I´m curious what pieces to swap.

Thanks in advance.
