Immo + Incin Mechanics

I have a question about when/how the damage bonus that incinerate receives from immolate is calculated. Is the damage that will be done by incinerate calculated at the time incinerate is cast or at the time of impact. I ask because I often follow up an incinerate with an immediate conflag, which hits before the incinerate lands, consuming the immolate. Is my incinerate still getting the immolate bonus because it was active at the time of casting, or does it not? I've searched a handful of forums looking for an answer to this and haven't had any luck. I'd prefer answers not based solely upon speculation

-Thanks

Bonuses like the Incin w/Immo or how much +damage to add to the spell are done at spell cast, so if Immo was up when you finished casting Incin, then it gets the bonus.

So you can Immo + Incin + Conflag and Incin gets the bonus damage.

Is that only the case for DD spells?

I'm only asking because I did some fairly simple testing with Rupture due to a question on the rogue forums a little while back, and it seemed that for DoTs, self-buffs were calculated at the time of cast (i.e.: any +AP/+% damage/etc. you had on yourself), but debuffs on the target were calculated as the damage resolved. So if you have Deathwish active and you are ruptured, you take more damage per tick, but it drops back down the instant the DW ends, and all subsequent tics are "normal".

I've admittedly never tested it on my warlock, and the impression I always got from DPSing was that it does indeed act as you described, I was just wondering if anyone had done a controlled test to confirm it. =)

That's exactly how it works PessimiStick. Dots take the state of the player at time of cast (buffs), but take the state of the mob at each tick (debuffs).

Shoot a Shadowbolt at something at throw on COS while the bolt is in flight.

It won't get 10% bonus damage.

There's always free cheese in the mouse traps, but the mice there ain't happy.

Except all the mages I know say that you can fireball and scorch to get a debuff up there and have it take effect..hmmm.

They could easily just be wrong.

Vay iz krayzee. It would be a lot easier to notice a 10% increase than a 3% one.

Get the frost mages or elementalists to work together and frost nova something while frostbolt is in flight. See if their crit improves.
