I think most people use WWS.
For example here is mine from the other night.
Daidalos - WWS
There are links at the top of that page to learn more about how to use it.

It is called WWS (or Wow Web Stats). You can find it at Wow Web Stats
It's extremely helpful and I suggest all players use it to see how different specs and gear perform.

Thank you very much guys. I did not know about that site. Does it show spellsurge gains too? I want to do some calculations with enchants soon and would like to see the gains of it for myself. Thanks

Was wondering if someone could help me out with a theory-crafting math question. Made a simple Excel sheet to compare the ranks of Chain Heal and Healing Wave, when hitting only 1 target w/o Healing Way stacked.
Is this the correct equation?
(Base heal of rank + (Your +healing * Heal coefficient))* (+10% heals from Purification) * (+20% if Chain Heal) * (Down-ranking coefficient)
So for rank 1 Chain Heal:
Average heal of 344.
You have 2000 +healing
Chain heal gets 71% of your +healing on the initial hit.
+10% from Purification
+20% since it's a Chain Heal
Rank 1 gets a down-ranking coefficient of 0.714
(344+(2000*0.71)) * 1.1 * 1.2 * 0.714 = 1662.53
Does that look right? I'm not sure exactly where in the calculation the talents come into play, which can change the result a decent amount. I wasn't able to find a resto shaman calculator, especially one that shows the healing for CH only hitting 1 target. Any help would be much appreciated.

I skimed through that thread and did a search on it for spellsurge and spell surge. No luck. so I did a search on the whole site for WWS Spellsurge, WWS spell surge. and still no luck. Browsed a few of the wws posts to see if it lists spell surge, but no clue on who has it and if it really shows. tried to search spellsurge and spell surge on the WWS forums.... and still no mention of it being noted on WWS or mention of it not showing up. Anyone that uses spellsurge and WWS please let me know. Thanks

It is a buff, so it tracks the same as any other buff.

Spell Surge generally returns 3-5 mp5. That’s nothing spectacular. However, this enchant really shines in groups where 4-5 people have it. It’s also best in fights where the raid stands close together (like Solarian). As you can see in Tidewalker, people were often out of range when the enchant procced because I was in the back healing watery graves.
Here’s the link to the WWS report for the SSC fights: Wow Web Stats
To find spell surge, click on a healer’s name. Scroll down to “Buffs & Gains” Here you can see everything that procced. If you click on “Spellsurge” you will see everyone in the raid that got that buff.

Ok, i have question for you shammys
Soon 2.3 will be released on live servers, with this patch [Mystical Skyfire Diamond] will have inner cooldown (most likely 40sec) and maybe lower proc rate.
This gem is in my opinion best healing gem in game atm, [Insightful Earthstorm Diamond] can give about 5mp5, so it's compleatelly useless comparing to Mystical.
Will [Bracing Earthstorm Diamond] be only alternative for us shamans after nerft of [Mystical Skyfire Diamond]? Or maybe Mystical will still be leading healing Meta Gem, even with inner cooldown? What do you think about this?
@Skyhoof:
Spellsurge can give 3,3mp5 with MAX proc rate (after each cooldown) witch is impossible due to low proc rate. in group of 5 spellsurges it's 15-16mp5 max, so it's just useless.
Putting +81 healing on weapon (or even 30 int) and downrainking spells can give you MUCH more mana management.
Every shaman can get more mana gains from Totemic Call than from 5x Spellsurge in group...
This enchant is waste of mats for me, and... you are shaman, so you won't be always in dream team (5x spellsurges).

Practically, both spellsurge and insightful worked out at around 7mp5 for me.
The advantage of insightful over bracing is the high number of blue sockets on healing gear, and the preference to socket royal nightseyes (9heal/2mp5) into red/blue and maybe even yellow sockets.
I never like using proc-based items when healing, as Murphy dictates they'll proc when least useful (insightful, on the other hand, returns mana as it's proc, so it isn't wasted like a one-use buff is).

with the changes to mp5 due to water shield and improved totems i'll switch my sockets completly towards +heal, maybe sparing some epic sockets with no epic replacement available. will be bracing for me, then.

Using the sensible spell haste items from patch 2.3 you will burn your mana at an increased rate of about 30mp5 and more depending on the spell you use. That about eats up any gain you might have due to Watershield and the changes to Mana Spring.

I agree that +81 healing is a great enchant.
I have 2 weapons though, one with +81 healing and one with spellsurge, and I use CWS (caster weapon swapper) mod ( CasterWeaponSwapper | World of Warcraft @ Curse) to automatically swap out weapons after the proc and when the internal CD is back up. I really love that mod! It seems to work fairly well, and I always turn the mod on if I am in a caster group. Quite a few of the casters do the same so its a nice little extra boost. Granted its not cheap, but hey there isn't all that much to spend gold on nowadays anyway.

Re:Grid layouts
For the folks using Grid, how do you have your set up. I am coming back to the game after a reasonably long haitus (when I hit 70 I got kind of bored). We are now working on Leo in SSC and I'm ready to become a healbot again.
I was thinking to set the borders to red for aggro, show health deficit as a # to know what rank to use and change the life % to go horizontal since that's what I am used to.
Oh and have ES and Healing Way as my top right and left buffs and have the unit fade out if out of range.
Does that seem like a decent way to do it, or can folks suggest better?
If anyone has their stuff already set up that way I'd also be more then happy to take their settings

That's basically the way I have mine set up. The only differences are setting my two top corner buffs to show HoTs on the target, and a central icon for any poison/disease effects on the player. I'd also suggest you pick up the additional mod that shows mana bars - definitely useful for knowing at a glance when it's best to use your Mana Tide or when other healers will be cutting back.

Yes. You will gain the benefit from the totem if it is equipped during the cast.

Pretty much the same as how I have mine set up, with the exception that I use Quartz (Elk Buff Bars can do this as well if you use it) for the actual tracking of charges/stacks/time remaining on Earth Shield/Healing Way/Ancestral Healing, and use the indicators on Grid just to show the presence of the buff on people in the raid. I also highly recommend Grid Mana Bars, although, if it's strictly to tell you when to drop a Mana Tide Totem, you can just set the low mana threshold to 76% to make sure everyone in the group would gain the full benefit from it.

Thanks...one last thing. With PitBull when I target a heal on someone it shows the amount getting healed added to their existing hit points (in a different color). Is there a grid addon that can do this?
I think I may have bitten off too large a chunk at once, I got Grid+all the healer helper plugins+had it skinned by skinner before I set it up. Maybe I just need to take baby steps.

I'm not sure if an estimated heals addon is available for Grid, but you might be able to find an answer in this thread or the one on the wowace forums.

I like TotemTimers myself because of the easy-to-use interface for selecting totems plus the tracking of reincarnation timers, ES, WS and weapon buffs.

I use Totemus. Mostly because of all the other funtional buttons. I don't have 5 extra bars on my screen just for potions, water, mounts, and all that. Totemus also has a function that lets you have your ankh CD and Earth/water/lightning shield count on it.
