I did not test it long enough to check if white crits are now affected by it. But I did test it with flame shock and it is still not affecting spell crits.

Just repeated the test and it definitely has not been fixed yet. White crits are still unaffected.

Doesn't seem to be a high priority though. And he didn't mention hotfix, only patch.

Asking a GM is largely a waste of time. Save yourself the hassle.

At least he told me Blizzard treats it as a Bug so it wasn't totally useless. (Don't know if Hortus had already posted it back then when I asked some hours ago)

I also sent in a ticket. My response told me that it was in the patch notes after assuring them it wasn't and that I checked again, I was told that medivh messed with his mind and changed what he was talking about. I was then told that it was a known issue and would be fixed, however when asking if just the white damage would be fixed or spells as well I was told that they couldn't tell me how it was to be resolved if thats any help.

Why are you wasting a GM's time with a known bug?
It's known. It'll get fixed.

It's known and has been seen as being bugged with white attacks. Nothing has been stated about spells as far as I recall have you seen otherwise anywhere?

RED is intended to work only with phyiscal attacks, and arcane shot is the exception. One possible exception may be Seal of Command/Seal of Blood.
It was fixed to allow spells, in order to allow arcane shot to be affected. With the implementation of 2.2, the full resolution of only applying to physical attacks + arcane shot is in effect.

Is this your personal theory, or something you know for fact? I would like a link to any blue posts saying anything to this effect. They seem to be dodging the issue pretty well themselves.

The Eu simply stated that it was changed. Not that the change was intentional.
The Hortus reply simply stated that it not working on white melee attacks is a bug, and being fixed.
He made no mention to spell damage.
Neither is conclusive on what it will end up.

I just did a bit of testing on RED on the Blasted lands servants, with an unarmed rogue with 2/2 Murder. With RED, I was seeing 205-206 hits and 431-432 crits (approx. 210%), with a different helm (T5 with RED vs. S2 pvp with 18stam / 5% stun resist), I was hitting for 191-192 and critting for 390-391 on those same mobs (approx. 204%). I'm taking those results to mean that RED has been fixed for melee autoattacks.

Hmm, now to see if it works for spells.

I just checked it and it does not work with spells on live.
Flame shock: normal 377, crit 566.

As of 2.2.2. the RED works multiplicative on ALL melee critical attacks. This is at least what i could confirm as druid.

I guess that means having the RED going back to working for spells is a dream that wouldn't come true. I think I'll stay away from meta socket helms till I am hit capped without the need of gems, so I can finally use the MSD.

Finally got around to re-testing it myself. First, without RED:
Auto Attack: 129 / 264 - 204.7%
Sinister Strike: 247 / 581 - 235.2%
Then, with RED:
Auto Attack: 144 / 302 - 209.7%
Sinister Strike: 265 / 643 - 242.6%
Not entirely clear what's going on with the white crits without RED, but it does appear that RED is increasing them further.
