I've always thought that it does but when I started searching on the topic several sources said it was automatically capped. The reason I'm asking is because our warrior just switched from axes to maces and we lost a bunch of games that we shouldn't really have lost. He swears that weapon skill is capped out but I've always thought that it doesn't. Anyone know? Thanks.
If he was an orc he would have lost a small amount of +crit, but it still would have been a lot less of a DPS drop than he saw from trading axe spec for mace spec
By all accounts (well, WowWiki) levelled skill doesn't matter in pvp, while racials and equipment bonuses will grant a small boost. so a person with 0/300 and 300/300 in a skill would operate identically in pvp, while a person with 0/300 + 5 would see a small crit/hit boost
if you find non-anecdotal evidence to the contrary feel free to post it, but this thread isn't really helpful
