The badge seems to be running for 1.5-2K gold on my server although we've not had many up.

Interesting example somebody gave earlier though on how "need before greed" goes out the window in some people's eyes if an item is worth enough (I guess its "need before greed unless you're really greedy"). Badge of Tenacity is really only valuable for feral druids - I would expect a party to pass for the feral druids regardless of the BoE sell cost the same way that I would pass on, say, epic world drop Don Santos' Famous Hunting Rifle for a Hunter in the group who intended to equip it.

Back to an earlier post, the heal-pull technique is pretty straightforward:
- stand at max range
- target one of your mobs
- cast wrath
- while the fiery green wrath ball is in flight, cast Regrowth on yourself (your GCD will already be finished by this time so you cast immediately)
- while the mobs are running toward you, shift into dire bear

You can do all of this before the first mob gets to you. If you are a bit sloppy on the buttons, it helps to back up after the regrowth to give you that extra half second tos hift before they get to you.

The point is the moment that first mob hits you in bear form, you've got a good 10s of self-healing going on which creates your own aggro. It helps if you make sure your healer doesn't start spamming big heals on the pull.

I haven't seen a Badge up on the AH for Horde side Thaurissan yet, and I check every day. I have well over 1,000 Apexis Shards to my name plus the Depleted Mace, but no Badge. The other feral druid in my guild got his within 5 hours or so of farming for it. Typical.

On the topic of Badge of Tenacity acquisition, I believe three pals in guild decided to go nuts learning the teleporter event (and did so economically - watching an Alliance pal run it a few times, watching each other do it, study, eccet, so a minimum of darkrunes were needed), and I think that's about as loaded dice as you can get for farming depleted objects.

Druid tanks and +hit.

Hello, fellow druid tanks Recently I've started tanking in my guild and as I am still collecting my equipment I noticed in my last Kara run that I lack some +hit. I'm currently sitting at +1.5% to hit and it's definetely not enough, in my opinion. What gear with +hit (or gear with gems with +hit) do you guys use when tanking and what amount of +hit you find good enough for tanking drood?

Your first objective, is to replace your weapon, preferably with Earthwarden.

Replacing charm of alacrity with a +hit trinket would help your situation, but many people prefer to use those slots for armor.

Also consider replacing your cape with Thorium Weave from Mechanar.

If you used the search function, you would most likely find other threads covering this.

As far as pure tanking gear goes, there is virtually no +hit. I'd suggest either socketing a lot of +hit or swapping 2-3 items with +hit. (You don't need pure tanking gear anyways in most cases).

A Glyph of Ferocity on your helm is a good start too, that extra AP and Hit is more valueable then the 17 dodge from the Glyph of the Defender as long as you're uncrittable, if you ask me.

I don't use +hit as a main tank, and generally find it useless. The only argument for +hit is on pulls and transitions, and flat out, people should not be attacking until you have aggro established. After that, it's simply a matter of using the right ability rotation with your incoming rage.

Serious tank gear needs absolutely no + hit - when you are getting hit hard enough that mitigation is of importance, rage budgets are generous enough for threat to not be a problem regardless.
There are fights where you need every microscopic ounce of threat you can get (Magtheridon add number one, the priest on maulgar, later stuff..) but without exception they are also the fights you can, and want to, tank in your cat gear, which should be hitcapped.

I concur with the last 2 posters plus hit for druid tanking is not required. As stated above on fights where you are rage staved you can generally do it in hybrid cat/bear gear.

Posting something absolutely weird that happened to me yesterday during a SH run, on Grand Warlock.
I got crit, with 3/3 SotF and 421 defense. Combat log said "Grand Warlock Melee crit You 2820".
Unfortunately couldn't get a screen as I had to switch back to tanking him fast cause he was already owning a shadow priest while I kept wondering what happened. And by the end of the fight the message was gone from the chat window.

Would really like to know if there's any logical explanation for this to happen as it was the first time I saw a crit since I got over 415 defense.

Although you are capped you can never be crit immune there is always a tiny chance you will be crit.

I don't see why you place no value in hit even if you're filling the MT role, the only real hinderance I come across from sustaining my normal TPS are unlucky streaks and there's nothing more infuriating than seeing your shield slam/mangle not landing when it really counts, yes that's more an issue for an OT but is that not what the majority of Druids are doing?

In a competitive raid environment DPS won't wait forever nor should they have to and anything which helps that process I see as desirable, constantly high threat is as much an advantage of a Druid tank as the extra armour and it also translates well into other roles even if those are seen as less important things.

This argument can be extended to absurdity: Instead of +Hit gear, take off your weapon: This will lower armor and your dodge rate, Thus increasing your rage available for TPS... Is +Hit better than Nothing? Of course, but like strength (and it is EXACTLY like strength) it should be a secondary concern and I would never itemize for it.

Hyperbole aside, with Misdirect available having 1 or 2 mangle's parried is hardly "Forever", since Lacerate + Maul can still account for 5 threat generating abilities in between every Mangle. Your headstart from 2XMisdirect should prevent your dps from AFKing.
