In regards to threat suits, what do you wear? I went with 3pc. Vengeful, Shard of Contempt, Auto Blocker, Badge Bracers (Expertise), Badge Neck (Expertise), Badge Belt (Expertise/Hit), however I am well below 490 Defense. I wouldn't mind some insight on what others are wearing.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as the resilience from your vengeful pieces brings you to uncrittable. I love vengeful gear in a threat suit since the high armor and stamina doesn't turn you into just a dps warrior with a shield.

Coolyo maybe you could add the damage income too? It has a huge impact on the rage the tank has to opperate with.

Lately we had an Anetheron kill where he hits the tank for 710dps only (201k damage income over 284 seconds).
He had only ~6 rps (rage per second) to deal with from damage get, which is quite low and had a major impact on the TPS he could generate.

Thus, I would find it suitable to take the rage from damge get into account since it has a major affect on tps.
Maybe even rage from white hits.

Example:
- Tank A does 800tps with 6rps from damage get
- Tank B does 900tps with 20rps from damage get

I think Tank A should be rated higher. Well, just a guess.

I think he was using it more as a Rage efficiency metric. Not a bad idea at all. Pure TPS ranking is what the focus of the site is, and should remain that way.

No, that doesn't make sense, if you are talking about the 2.6 Speed Gladiator Weapon. It is far too slow for Heroic Strike Spam.
Use Executioner on a fast Main Hand Weapon, if you are having access to a second weapon for tanking. It provides more threat, but gives no benefit for avoidance like Mongoose. Just switch the both for different encounters.

I had a slightly different idea during one of our last Teron kills. We had a pretty bad raid setup, quite a few new people, too many healers.
My group consisted of a destruction warlock, 2 holy paladins, and a BM hunter - absolutely nothing to boost my TPS.

As you see, I was wearing next to no aggro gear, avoidance almost all the way. With 8 healers in raid, I'd be safe using full aggro gear (Auto Blocker, Shard of Contempt, TK trash ring, ZA boots, badge belt, Teron gloves, badge bracers, SSO neck/Brooch of Deftness, ZA shield, Shahraz sword with Executioner) but I wanted to see what I could do in avoidance set!

I notice many of you using PVP, crit/ap gear to maximise your TPS suits for testing. This ofc severely gimping your avoidance below a reasonable level imo, also leading to maybe an extra healer or so needed at Teron speed kills.

Recently i put together a new tanking suit which i feel may even out threat those types of gear choices. I put this on lsat night and tested it on Muru trash which has a nice rage income.

Onslaught Helmet: BV Meta, ZG enchant, Agi-Stam gem
Brooch of Deftness
Destroyer Shoulderguards: 2 x stam and Scryer shoulder enchant
Pepe's Shroud of Pacification:
Destroyer Chestguard: 3x Stam gems, 150HP enchant
Onslaught Bracers: Defence Stam gem
Destroyer Gloves: 2% Threat enchant
Onslaught Belt: agi stam gem
Destroyer Legaurds: Stam Agi patch
Onslaught Boots: Boars speed, agi stam gem
Band of the eternal defender
Band of the abyssal lord
Shard of contempt
Gnomeregan Autoblocker
Brutalizer: Executioner
Sword Breakers Bulwark: Agi stam gem, 18 stam enchant


As you can see, with this setup you get lets of superb bonuses aswell as maintaing moderate tanking stats.

I used this last night on trash and broke 3100 shield slams multiple times, giving good promise to what i could accomplish on Teron. We will be clearing BT fast tonight so i hope to have a WWS of the results.

Our raid group is starting to find that our DPS is threat capped with our MT. He is very knowledgable and does a lot of his own research, but he just cant put his finger on why. We are in SSC/TK and currently working on vashj with all other bosses on farm. He is still using Thunderfury and I was wondering if that maybe the cause. It just seems like Mallet of the Tides is much better for threat, though he likes using TF over that. Without getting all into parse and armory, could TF be hindering more then helping?

If that cant be answered without armory or a wws parse, then ill fish some links up and what not.

Well from what I have read Thunderfury is on par with Kings Defender.
Mallet of the Tides is a very good threat weapon, the best till Brutilizer from BT.

Could you post an armory link to the tank in question?

I'm assuming you reversed the T5 bonuses by mistake. The most beneficial out of those imo would be the T6 bonus stacked with nonset pieces that focus on BV, pen., and hit/expertise, which is stating the obvious at this point.

Edit - Also I think the downside to the T5 bv bonus is that as soon as you take the next incoming hit you're losing it. In most cases you won't be trying to coincide sb with your ss rotation as you're more likely to habitually spam block to avoid crushings.

Yes i did reverse them by mistake.

Conserning the T5 BV bonus, its very rare i block in BT anymore. On certain bosses ofc i use sb on cd as normal; however using this gear expressly for Teron i would only use SB before a SS to gain maximum benefit. His swing speed is pretty low and with the tanking stats included i can still avoid enough to cause the 4 healers no issue with keeping me alive.

I have still yet to try this which is dissapointing. Weve been on Muru a lot recently making little time to get into BT, ive no doubt we will clear it at some point before reset just so i can see the results.

Hm im new to this but some values from the Top10 Reports seems to be weird. I only looked at Brutallus and the 3 leading Warriors used 2 times Last Stand in that fight? How?

They all got nearly the double amount of damage (and swings) then normal Tanks there. Maybe theres something
wrong with the wws logs from them.

There is. It's pretty obviously just a badly merged log, so every event was listed twice. There's not much that can be done about those except manually removing them.
