Scaling stats are giving diminishing returns, but stat bonuses will be surely higher.

If this trend will be kept by Blizzard, and scaled proportionally, i think the actual dodge levels will be (almost) reached at the time of the end instances (that is, the actual Zul'Aman-MH-BT).

The gap? For Rogues, Vitality could be an answer (remember, you have 10 talents more to spend). Maybe some proportional meta-gem on agility like that on intellect could be developed.

We have to wait for the actual live expansion to see if the 100% avoidance will be reached or not.
Vitality has been changed so no more bonus to agility it really seems 100% avoidance will be gone for a long, long time.

It seems as though it remains *possible* to hit 100% avoidance: the DR cap is on each stat individually and only on increases from gear and other effects that directly effect agility, defense, and ratings for parry & dodge. The cap for dodge (and parry, separately) for rogues is around 145%, making it far from *impossible* to reach the current dodge levels, but the gear level required is likely out of reach.

If you had 60% dodge from gear before DR, after you'd have 1/(.00687 + .988/60) = 42.85%, a loss of over 17%. At 50% dodge from gear, it's 37.55%. about a 12.5% loss. In order to reach 50% dodge from gear again, you'd have to have

50 = 1/(.00687 + .988/x)
.02 = .00687 + .988/x
.01313 = .988/x
x = .988/.01313 ~= 75

75% dodge from gear on live, a (WoW-math) increase of 25%, currently 500 agility. If there's a higher agi to dodge conversion at 70 going in with 3.0, it will obviously make it just as impossible - but the ratings thread gives a level 80 conversion of about 41.5 agi/dodge, making 20 still at level 70 seem correct.

See Combat Ratings at level 80 for math source.

Interestingly, the cap for tank classes (~88%) is far lower than for hunters, shaman and rogues(~145%), with druids having a higher cap on dodge(~117%) likely due to inability to parry. It seems quite clear that they intend for tanking classes to be completely unable to reach avoidance levels that required Sunwell Radiance - 100% avoidance tanking becoming impossible seems merely a side effect.

So that means you need 2074 agility to have 50% dodge on Level 80?

Or 1885 pre-Kings, or 1810 without today's basic self-buffs, or 1573 pre-Sinister Calling (I might be wrong with the way these numbers add up, I'm sorry). You need around 105 agility per item slot then, not counting trinkets.

The only way you can currently count it on your weapons would be assuming you got a mongoose proc. I guess some items like this one: http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...ingmoments.jpg get you pretty close.

As for trinkets the only one I've seen is Valor Medal of the First War, which gives 84 dodge rating + 335/2 min.

What are the level 80 major self-buffs that you can have? Also, are there any +agi/+dodge items around?

Edit: Nevermind. You need 3112 agility to have 75% dodge to get the final 50% dodge bonus. Yea.

Darn; my one video I made yesterday bugged out and only recorded sound and a stillscreen. =(

Farewell rogue tanking, rest in peace.
