Quite true. In addition to the same dps as 2dmg (within rounding margins), 4stats gives 4stam, 4int, and 4spr. Hard to argue with that.

I've read a lot in this thread now (almost every page) and I've read the links like Tosks and used Rawr etc...
But now I have a question which cames up with the new items.

If you want to have 2t4 and 4t6 and you can get all the possible items from sunwell and badges and so on. What items would be the best to have 2T4, i men, obviously you can have 3T6 without getting troubled with your T4 Stuff, but what would be the last T6 item for dps and which 2 items should be the 2T4?

Of course its better not to take Shoulders or Head, for your DPS gear, and there is a leg enchant too, where you can take defensive or offensive. So there are still the chest and the hands left, which might be compared with non set dps items and you have to consider that you still need the 2t4.

Have you any advice for the slots? I just went T4 shoulders and T4 hands, cuz i am engi and have the goggles (and going for the upgrade ). There was also no space for a gem in the gloves and it was nice for bear and cat, but now everything changed and i'm thinking about dropping engineer (because the head is not THAT overpovered and its only 1 item) and taking T4 head+shoulders. getting T6 head+shoulders with tank enchants and T6 bracers+waist+wrist+legs for tanking AND cat and another single chest (maybe from leatherworking) for dps.

I hope you understood my concern and I thank you for any opinion ( i'm sorry for my confusing way to write bad english :-P )

This boils down to the "what's the best set to wear" conversation, which has been going on since 2.4 and has been decently determined.

The reality is, you should take the first 2 Sunwell gear DPS pieces you can get your hands on, then save the nit-picking until the rest of your guild gets DPS-geared out. I believe when I looked at it earlier though, your best bet is head & shoulder T4 (convenient since you don't need double-T6 to pull this off), hands T6, SP chest/legs. Your mileage will vary based on when/if you need tank upgrades.

Long time lurker, first time poster...looking for some advice now.

Today I acquired the [Shard of Contempt]. I was using [Hourglass of the Unraveller] together with [Crystalforged Trinket]. With my current gear (101 hit, 40.78% crit, 3368 ap) Toskks rates the Hourglass higher then the Crystalforged. Emmerald rates the Crystalforged higher then the Hourglass. Ofcourse Emmerald doesn't take my current gear into consideration...so what is wisdom?

Use the Crystalforged to keep the guaranteed 216ap for 10secs every minute or go for the crit and chance on 300ap with the Hourglass? I am leaning towards the Hourglass just would like some extra input.

I stuck my finger in the air and went for the crit from Hourglass and a proc chance.

More crits=more combo points=win in my book.

I've actually had a set of gear come out with white stag coming out as the top dps idol, interestingly enough. It involved having 245 haste including drums of battle (90%+ uptime) and 20%+ BL uptime. I thought that was interesting enough to share with an idol usually regarded as terrible coming out on top.

Playing around with Rawr the other day, I looked at the Ranged - Idol slot and noticed it showing a considerately higher DPS coming from Idol of Feral Shadows then from my Everbloom Idol... IoFS is not mentioned as one of the good idols here, although it's been buffed since 2.4 which may well be the reason? What do you guys think about it, shall I go hunting for it?

IoFS is good when you've got minimal armor penetration on the boss, and it's high armor. Most likely though, you just need to fill out mob debuffs.

Has anyone experimented with using Gift of Arthas to increase DPS? Up to +8 damage taken (physical) [Hemorrhage is up to 42, same auras]. Does this work on 73s? Is it worth the debuff slot? Does it do anything to Lacerate? I guess since Lacerate is an instant it would only gain a portion of that damage? Any insight would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, new to posting, but frequent reader here.

My guild just killed Kalecgos tonight, and we're excited to down Brutallus as well. I was reading the Brutallus discussion in this thread, and a druid or two mentioned they were considering using [Brooch of Deftness] instead of [Pendant of Titans] for Brutallus. I've considered this as well, but am having trouble reaching crit immunity. This is what I'm thinking about for my gear setup for Brutallus:

With this gear setup, and a Flask of Fortification, I'm 21 Defense Rating/14 Resilience off from crit immunity.

I am thinking my best bet is to swap out [Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch] with [Shadowmoon Insignia]? Another option I suppose would be to not use the Brooch at all; and instead just use the [Pendant of Titans], still.

I would appreciate feedback on which would theoretically be a worse downgrade in terms of tanking Brutallus. We killed Illidan about 6 weeks ago, so our DPS might not be high enough to kill Brutallus just yet - but I'd like to make sure that the tanking is set so it's one less thing our guild has to learn for the fight. Thanks to any responses.

Will probably try to find some way to get of that gem, possibly +def enchants when my badge vendor is up with the new ring.

I would go for Vindicator Bracers and put either the Def Enchant on them or keep going with Stamina.

Am I just slow on this one or did we get a ninja name change on [Mask of the Fury Hunter] in this weeks downtime? I'd swear 99% it was Furry hunter last week when I was linking and laughing at the name in gchat.

Yes, I had the choice of the Brooch because I have the S3 bracers. Having said this, with our Brutallus group compositions finally optimized, threat is not as much of an issue now and I'm using Titans and will grab the T6 wrists next reset then hope for a [Collar of the Pit Lord] dkp win afterwards.

I think this puts me at exactly crit immunity w/o flask, in case for some reason I ever wanted to use elixirs instead of a flask

I started tanking Brutallus for a couple of weeks, don't exactly remember my gear (as I logged out with DPS, but I can check later when I get home), but you might want to check out the [Signet of Eternal Life], which drops in ZA. Stat-wise, it's very similar to the one that drops off Supremus ([Band of the Abyssal Lord]), and with this it would be easier to reach the cap.

For Brutallus you'd rather not rely on elixirs or flasks to go over the crit cap.
