This has unfortunately probably already been covered a few times in this thread, but I didn't see it in the OP or the past few pages. I got Berserker's Call last night, which makes my trinkets that and the Shard of Contempt. Should I be using my Berserker's Call every time it's up, or wait to coincide it with the effect of the Shard?

Doesn't matter; they're both AP bonuses, which don't multiply off each other. Cats don't have any multiplier buffs, other than if you're using a haste trinket, and Bloodlust. So just make sure you can use both of them during a bloodlust if you're going to get one, other than that, use it whenever it's up.

There's no benefit from using 2 AP buffs together, they are additive not multiplicative. The situation where you might want to wait to stack procs with activated stuff is when one is multiplicative (e.g. Blade Flurry, DST proc, Drums of Battle, Abacus trinket etc). Druids don't really need to worry about timing clicky AP buffs (aside from with Drums & Bloodlust), and even then I'd bet it's pretty close compared to if you used them on every cooldown. I have Bloodlust Brooch macro'd with Rip so I don't need to worry about timing it.

edit: Too slow T.T

Haha, oh, right. I should read more, I thought Berserker was a crit bonus. Whoops.

If it WERE a crit and an AP bonus between the trinkets, however, I assume it would be worthwhile to try to sync them?

Well yes... There are no crit chance trinkets in the game though, other than Badge of Tenacity. There are a few Haste ones though, that would also be multipliers.

When did blizzard break the bearpot macro and powershifting macro?
They all just leave me in caster form no matter what I try to do.

What macros do you use?
I use this and really have no any problems:

/script local gcd=GetSpellCooldown("Dire Bear Form"); if gcd==0 then CancelPlayerBuff("Dire Bear Form") end;
/stopmacro [stance:1]
/use Master Healthstone
/use Charged Crystal Focus
/use item:22829
/use 13
/use 14
/cast Dire Bear Form

Try searching back about 20 pages, there's a bunch of discussion about bearpot macro and a new "guard" line that prevents you from unshifting during GCD. As for powershifting, try /cast !Cat Form.

Bearpot works fine for me. I use a fairly simple version of the macro, just a few /use lines followed by /cast Dire Bear Form. No GCD-protection, have been a bit lazy with that.

Apart from heroism, you also may want to time Berserker's Call with Haste potion. I find it risky however to use haste potion and the trinket on the first rip, so i have rip macro which tries to use trinket, but does not use it when any modifier is pressed. That way, when using haste potion, i can wait for 2nd rip to unleash it all.

How do you use a haste potion? Pop it during a powershift through a macro? I've never heard of ferals using haste potions, is it a common practice?

Correct. They add about 24dps for me. Dunno how 'common practice' it is, though, not as common place as it is for rogues/warriors/shamans, I'd guess, but it does add up.

EDIT: Oh, that reminds me... Question for all you cats who powershift a ton: What addon(s) do you use for watching your energy?

I use Rogue Focus Classic although it has problems with 2T4 since every time it procs it resets the energy timer. I'd love to have a better one but I've only seen mods for rogues that also work for druids.

I use X-Perl Unit Frames, which has a built in energy timer that works very well for druids. (unless I have some other addon that I forgot about which attaches to the unit frame, but I don't think so). The downside is that with it being part of the unit frame it's a very small sliver of a bar (I shrink all my unit frames down a bit as well), so my eyes tend to be darting all over the screen to watch cooldowns, energy bar, procs, debuff timers for Rip and Mangle, plus anything else that I need to watch.

Also, I don't know if this was implied functionality, but it shows when the next energy gain is going to tick. I usually Rip a little before hitting 70 energy so that by the time my GCD is clear I've gained the energy for my Mangle.

If anyone knows of an addon that would show: short-term buffs (bloodlust, trinkets, etc.), Mangle and Rip timers, plus the energy ticker all in one spot that would be pretty cool. Right now I use Elk Buff Bars + CooldownTimer + X-Perl.

Pitbull unit frames have a nice energy ticker and a built-in mana bar while in form.

I have the upper left corner of my UI set up like so, as a one-stop-shop for almost everything I need to know while DPSing:

[my unit frame] [target frame] [little Demon window] [target of target frame]

[ORA2 tanks] [Chronometer bars]
It works pretty well. Demon is right there to show me if FF and Mangle are up (we run with two ferals, so it's worth checking), and Chronometer tracks the status of my own Mangle and Rip. (Chronometer was always a little buggy and is getting worse, so I'd recommend finding something else.)

I used to have an Omen pull-out aggro gain bar right with my target of target, but it seems that that functionality was lost in the rewrite for 2.4. Now I have to look at another corner for threat info, unfortunately.

DaHUD for Energy Bar next to catfigure, as well as Energy Watch - a very old addon that works just fine.
Don't have a Player Unitframe showing, so can't look there.

Last time I tried, Pitbull's 'DruidBar' couldn't keep up with insta shifting. It's part of the reason I turned off the Player Unitframe.

You saying it works again ? Anyone got another addon that'd work to show mana in forms ?

Try the Ace mod, MyThreat. It shows how much of a threat lead the tank has over you and your percent to aggro. Sorry, I don't have a link on hand, but it can easily be found on wowace.

I use that. Copy/pasted, except for a /cast barkskin. It finishes in caster.

There's the problem, then. Barkskin begins a 1.5 second GCD during which you can't shift into forms.

I use IceHud for monitoring energy ticks. It's unobtrusive and also will display mana as a bar and percentage when in bear / cat / etc.

There does appear to be some minor lag on when the extra 20 energy appears when you power shift. My UI will show me at 40 energy and then it'll jump up to 60 halfway through another energy tick.
