I'm noticing a drastic slowdown in running Rawr lately with the Optimizer. I note it mainly in Tree but I get it in general too. Has the >NET updated or something else potentially slowing it down? When I click optimize it locks my computer up solid for 20-30 seconds. I've run Rawr in the past with the same settings without issue.
Do I need to trim out a lot of deadwood in the available gear I have selected? It also likes to hang for several minutes at 97% complete. This is in the tree model with most karazhan healing gear and thoroughness only a few tickmarks from the far left.

Definitely only include available gear that actually has a chance of being useful, the more available items you have, the slower and more inaccurate it gets. Additionally, the Tree model in particular is extremely slow. That's on our list of things to improve in a later version.
Beyond that, no, nothing's changed. But those things could definitely be what you're experiencing.

|
The problem with haste for healers seems to be that RAWR assumes you chain-cast through the fight where in actual gameplay healing has a rhytm with bursts and breaks, so you actually spend more time getting mana through mp5 than spending mana on heals. Would it be possible to add a time spent casting option in addition to fight lenght? So if you set the fight lenght to 10 min it gives you mana regen for that period but only simulates casting spells for a set period of time. This could make haste values for healers more realistic.

Yeah, some of the models have an 'activity' % field in their options, just just that reason. I'll bring up with the other devs that all of them should have that.

I played around a bit with Rawr.Hunter yesterday. For the most part it seemed to give sensible results that matched my expectations and what I've seen in Cheeky's spreadsheet. Except for haste. I'm using a 3:2 rotation with the badge crossbow, and according to my calculations (and Cheeky's spreadsheet agrees), haste rating is a very good stat for me. Rawr.Hunter, however, seems to give it just about zero value? It thought my Cloak of Fiends was comparable to Cloak of Malice.

i am using rawr heavily since 1.14 release and as rawr improve i still miss a way to have a visual render of the ficght like vontre's magegraf. Is it something that'll available at some point ?
Secondly i have looked for an explanation on how to use the custom spell mix part of rawr because even if rawr give me results quite accurate with the results i have ingame i'd like to tune as close as possible with my playstyle.
Thanks.

I might do something like a visual render of the sequence reconstruction if there is a lot of interest.
For custom spell mix you upen the mix editor and select the cycles to use and assign a weight with each. For example setting something like Fireball with weight of 1 and Frostbolt with weight of 2 would simulate casting Fireball 33% of time and Frostbolt 67%. After you have the mix specified you should check either the checkbox to use the spell mix in addition to all already used ones or check the box to only use the custom mix.

Few bugs/quirks with Rawr.Mage
-AP Pom Pyro spec does not assume you will Presence of Mind Pyroblast at the end of AP, which can make up for a huge chunk of dps.
-In tandem, the above spec should be considered when choosing talent specs in the window, as it does quite a lot more than 40/18/3: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
-Shifting Naaru Sliver doesn't appear to be in there
-During AP, Scorch shouldn't have been cast (it should have been cast before-hand, if there's not enough time to cast a fireball at the end of AP the spell should be POM Pyro and Fire blast)
-When enforcing Meta Restrictions, it defaults to healing gems to meet the req.

Some of these quirks that would be very trivial to fix in a simulation type of application are a bit trickier to handle here. For example to properly handle POM applications this would add another cooldown and each cooldown adds enormously to the complexity of solving the problem of optimizing total damage. I might add handling for these at some time, but for now they'll remain quirks.
You can add Shifting Naaru Sliver in item editor by its id number.
The problem you have with meta restrictions sounds like a bug. Can you post your character for us to investigate or can you explain more in detail what happens?

-The minor error of lacerate dot dps/tps being added into the mangle, 3x swipe rotation in CalculationsBear.cs still exists.
-Parry doesn't seem to change when changing target level.
-Should non-maul yellow attacks use the two roll combat table system instead of a one roll combat table?

I was wondering if there has been any thought to putting out an interim version with the new talents for when the patch is released, but before the expansion?
I was thinking particularly for the bear module. SotF is changing to 6% crit reduction, so we will not need to look at resilience at all, and greatly less emphasis on defense. It would be nice to be able to put together a set which ignores these stats.
There are heaps of other changes of course, but even to just tell Rawr to ignore Def & Resil would be nice. Bears are going to be over powered with the talent patch

Am I mistaken or did the prot paladin build not change at all? I am still getting messages that I am not crit immune (with 500+ defence) and my tps isn't really all that accurate to what wws parses would suggest.
I've tried to look for some information about how the threat is calculated and what assumptions are being made but I couldn't find anything, is this data available somewhere?

Add something to your BuffCache.xml, like
<Buff>
<Name>Uncritable</Name>
<Category>Debuffs</Category>
<Stats>
<Resilience>500</Resilience>
</Stats>
<Type>ShortDurationDW</Type>
<ConflictingBuffs />
<SetThreshold>0</SetThreshold>

Yes, we'll be handling WoW 3.0 somehow. How exactly, we're not sure, but we'll make sure you guys aren't left hanging.
Exewut, I passed your post on to our protadin dev.
As an update for all, we're still planning on releasing b16.1 sometime this week. Was hoping to release it on Sunday like normal, but just didn't have everything done in time. I expect that all the rogues out there will find the extra wait worth it, though.

For the Buff's section, would it be possible to get the Unstable Flasks that are used for Blades Edge? Trying to put together my MageTank set, and being addicted to Rawr...I would love to have access to that in my set up.

You can add them yourself. Open up your buffcache.xml file and add the following:

<Buff>
<Name>Unstable Flask of the Beast</Name>
<Category>ElixirsAndFlasks</Category>
<Stats>
<Agility>20</Agility>
<Stamina>20</Stamina>
<Strength>20</Strength>
</Stats>
<Type>LongDurationNoDW</Type>
<ConflictingBuffs>
<string>Battle Elixir</string>
<string>Guardian Elixir</string>
</ConflictingBuffs>
<SetThreshold>0</SetThreshold>
</Buff>
<Buff>
<Name>Unstable Flask of the Bandit</Name>
<Category>ElixirsAndFlasks</Category>
<Stats>
<Agility>20</Agility>
<Stamina>30</Stamina>
<AttackPower>40</AttackPower>
</Stats>
<Type>LongDurationNoDW</Type>
<ConflictingBuffs>
<string>Battle Elixir</string>
<string>Guardian Elixir</string>
</ConflictingBuffs>
<SetThreshold>0</SetThreshold>
</Buff>
<Buff>
<Name>Unstable Flask of the Sorceror</Name>
<Category>ElixirsAndFlasks</Category>
<Stats>
<Intellect>20</Intellect>
<Stamina>30</Stamina>
<SpellDamageRating>23</SpellDamageRating>
</Stats>
<Type>LongDurationNoDW</Type>
<ConflictingBuffs>
<string>Battle Elixir</string>
<string>Guardian Elixir</string>
</ConflictingBuffs>
<SetThreshold>0</SetThreshold>
</Buff>
You can do similar things for any of the other flasks.

Rawr takes into account the fight length and whether you chose molten/mage armor, your raid buffs, and you can select consumable usage (elixirs/pots/gems). So if Rawr calculates you will go OOM before the end of the fight, it'll suggest solutions for this, one of which is gemming for a larger mana pool.
Double check all the options you've selected. Maybe you accidentally typed in that the fight is 10 mins long? Or you unchecked pot/gem usage or something?
