I am noticing same issue with lvl 70 items from TBC staves, cloaks, rings. Is this really going to be the case that a lvl 76 staff is best in slot? Are those base armor numbers really going to get the multiplier, thus making them superior to epic WoLK staves? It is very hard to believe this is Blizzard's intention for Druid Tanks.
I wouldn't be surprised if the base armor on those staves is changed to bonus armor like the higher end WoLK staves, and same thing on the rings and cloaks.
I have been playing only two years, so I don't have the history of such issues going back to when TBC first came out. Is this odd kind of gear ranking something that has occured before?

I can't seem to get [Enchanted Tear] to show up in gem list. If I edit items and filter for the name I can find it, but not in the gem selection list.
I'm having trouble getting the "Override Regem" option in the optimizer to work. It always changes my gems anyway. I'd love a way to only allow certain items to change gems, but not others (though I'm sure that would be difficult).
There seems to be a display bug where certain enchants are not centered in the box where the text is shown. It might have some sort of line wrapping occurring.
The bear miss cap is also still set to 9%.

BC Items with Armor - Oops. I had BC items filtered out when I went through and refreshed all the items with armor on them that shouldn't anymore. You can just right click, Refresh from Wowhead on those items, to fix them, until I release a new version.
Darkmoon Card: Greatness, with STR - I'd suggest editing the str one to give str/agi, instead of duplicating, but either way will work. I went with this method since it seemed the most likely; that you'd stack whatever stat you already stack the most. Cats are probably the only spec/class that this doesn't work for, I think.
Sorting by Multiple Subpoints - Would love to do this, just not on the top of my list at the moment.
Buffs - MotW's Str value is off, and Imp MotW is granting Armor instead of Bonus Armor. I have those fixed for the next release, along with the aforementioned Flask of the Frost Wyrm (Mixology) granting health instead of SP.
Bear Miss Cap - Fixed for next version.
Override Regemming - You're probably not marking any items as available only for a specific gemming. Ctrl-click a diamond on the charts to mark just that specific item gemming as available. The Override Regemming checkbox, if checked, will make it regem those anyway. (ie, run the Optimizer once with just your specific gemmings available, then check that and see how much of a difference it would make to regem everything).
Enchanted Tear - Armory parsing for this item was busted, but I've fixed it for the next version. Either edit the item, add the stats to it, or delete the item, and readd it (#42702), unchecking the box for the Armory on the add item dialog, so that it loads it from Wowhead.
Survivability Soft-Cap - Mouse over Survivability Points on the stats tab to see what Survivability Points are. Short version: Set the soft-cap to the most unmitigated damage you want to be able to survive. It defaults to 140k, when seems about right to me for Patchwerk-25. I'm personally using 160k for planning for Ulduar.
I expect to release an update today, though I'm not sure if it'll be 2.1.6, or just reposting 2.1.5... Leaning toward 2.1.6 at this point.

Maybe I'm not understanding correctly. I have specific items marked with a blue diamond and others with green. When I try to optimize it will give me new items with different gems (marked with green diamond) regardless of which color diamond was previously set. I have the same behavior with Override Regem enabled or disabled.

It's not very intuitive, but you may have items marked as both green and blue. That's definitely on our list to fix. Click them until the diamond is white, then ctrl-click it.

When setting default gems, do we need to just create default gem sets until each potential gem we want considered by Rawr is in one of the sets, and then rawr will try all combinations of the red, blue, and yellow gems you put among any of the sets?
i.e. if one set has bold scarlet ruby, rigid autumn's glow, and balanced twilight opal, and I want to make sure smooth autumn's glow is also included in comparisons, can I just create a second default gem set and leave all the gems blank except the yellow, which I set to Smooth Autumn's Glow?
Really, I'd like to just have a list of all available gems and put checks next to the ones that make sense, but it has these "default gem sets" that have me slightly confused.
Further, has anyone seen a posted description of what the tankadin author means by survivability, mitigation, and threat, precisely? I'm used to seeing mitigation sets, avoidance sets, and threat sets discussed, but it looks to me like the author uses "mitigation" to mean something different than I have used it for in past discussions. It would be nice, for purpose of understanding how best to use the tool, to know what is factored into each of those calculations.

The default gems dialog will create a gemming of all items that matches each of the gemming templates you set. So you'd want to specify two templates: [Bold/Rigid/Balanced/Relentless] and [Bold/Smooth/Balanced/Relentless]. Don't worry, we know that's not intuitive, and have major changes to the gemming system coming in 2.2.
As for the meaning of Survivability/Mitigation, if you mouse over them in the Stats tab, it gives you a description. Short version: Survivability refers to your reliable effective health (ie, stam and armor). Mitigation refers to your total average damage taken (ie, armor, avoidance, etc).

Excellent! This fixed it and now all rings, cloaks and staves are showing their relative rankings as you would expect. Took a few minutes to go through and update each item from wowhead, but at least it's a fix. Thanks for the update!

Astryl, the optimizer is not socketing a gem into the belt socket that everyone can get. I tried searching for an option somewhere to enable it, but came up blank. Am I missing something?
I haven't updated my character since 2.1.4, if that matters.

The optimizer is double equipping [Keystone Great-Ring], which is a unique item. Also, what is the reason for the [Essence of Gossamer] greatly dropping in value from 2.1.4 to 2.1.5? I've attached a screenshot of the trinket list difference showing this.

Thanks, I missed the "Delete unlisted gemmings" option. That did indeed work like a charm.

Unfortunately, that's a limitation to the Optimizer, for now. It would have taken considerable time to fix that, and were out of time. Those extra gem slots on the main screen will be going away in 2.2, as part of our major gemming system revamp, so we didn't want to spend significant time getting those optimizable, when it's just going to be removed later. For now, just put your best gem there, and optimize; it probably wouldn't have changed it anyway.

Regarding the ring, looks like a bug in the wowhead parser for uniqueness, I'll get that fixed. In the mean time, refresh it from the armory, or just right-click, Edit, check the box for Unique.
Regarding the Essence of Gossamer, you're seeing the result of soft-capping Survivability. The default softcap is 140k, though you can adjust that as you like, on the Options tab.

Yeah, I thought so at first, but there's a potential for using it to hit cap and potentially affect one or more other slots. I agree, though, that it's not necessary to worry about if the whole thing's getting changed in 2.2 anyway.

OK, I extracted this to my downloads folder, clicked on rawr.exe, and got this error: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)." Deleted the download, and redownloaded it, in case the first one had gotten corrupted somehow. Same problem. Suggestions?

Rawr v2.1.6 Released
Download - Rawr - Release: Rawr 2.1.6
v2.1.6:
Fixes for several Armory/Wowhead parsing errors.
Fixes for stats on a couple buffs.
Fix for a crash when choosing No Enchant from the enchant dropdowns.
Rawr.Hunter/Bear/Cat: Adjusted miss chance to 8%.
Rawr.TankDK: Initial release. Not fully complete yet, but included in this release of Rawr so that you can see how we're progressing. We still advise using Rawr.TankDK in conjunction with other theorycrafting tools.
EDIT: Didn't have time to get Titanguard/Major Stam to Wrists included in time, but you should be able to add them yourself quite easily by editing the EnchantCache.xml file and adding two new enchants. I'll try to post an updated EnchantCache.xml with those tomorrow that you can just drop in, but for now I need to get to bed.

The soft survival cap seems a bit hard near the edge. Stamina drops to half its value when hitting the other side. This results in a weird behaviour causing items heavy on stamina to jump around a lot in the tables when shifting a few pieces.
Stamina should be more gradual in the decay.

When creating a new empty player, selecting undead mage, I get a base crit rate of 2.01%. The expected value is 1.98%. Also I'd be curious to know what you guys use to determine the base player crit rate from int, since the base value is somewhat debatable. I use 0.9075 which matches the in-game 1.98%, but I was wondering if you had some more elaborate calculus for that value.
|

Log on with different model:
1- Create a character of the desired model. Log on/off.
2- At character selection screen, select your actual character; mouseover the new, desired model character, and hold down left click; hit enter and release left click at the same time.
bug Arcane Potency only applies to the first Arcane Missile bolt.

This is most likely because of wrong base racial stats. During beta I only had numbers for Gnome and I never went back to fine tune the other races (we're using 0.9075 for base crit).

Ah I see, the number you're looking for is 179 int for undead at 80. Unfortunately I don't have the other races.
