The five in the group would get 5 mana streams, the raid would get the effect of one. Assuming everyone was in range. The totems no longer appear as a buff on you (mana and healing stream that is). They just pulsate mana or health out at everyone in range. Although I'm not sure if the in-group stacking is intended or not. They said they will be doing another complete pass over shaman to clean up and polish our abilities.

That's what I thought.
So to recap:
Stacking totems works only if the shamans are in the same group.
Stacking totems only affect the group with the shamans in it, not the raid.

-Mana Tide is limited to the group only.
-Strength of Earth is also limited to group only (not sure if this is a bug or not, although I submitted it as a bug just in case).
-GoA and WF are both raid wide and both buffs can appear on one person. So I guess if an enhancement shaman needed to heal they'd have some spell haste.
-Flametongue is raid wide, but doesn't stack with more then one Flametongue.
EL weapon ticks for about 267 per second when it procs , but no passive +heal amount is currently shown on the character panel. The hot does scale w/ gear. 267 was the amount w/ about 1200 spellpower.

Thanks for testing all this. If you could can you also test if the following works:
- Can Earthliving Weapon proc off of Earth Shield, Ancestral Awakening, or Nature's Guardian?
- Can Ancestral Awakening crit? If it does, will it give Ancestral Healing?

I tried to get earthliving weapon to proc off earthshield and I went through 4 earthshields with no proc. Basically I put on ES and let a terrokar level wolf bite me until all the charges fell off, then reapplied the shield. I never got an EL proc so I'm going to say no. Nature's Guardian was more difficult to test. I got it to proc 4 time while dueling a friend, and it never proc'd EL. I don't think that 4 is a large enough sample size to say for sure, but it appears at this point that only direct heals on yourself or other people will proc EL.
Ancestral Awakening is bugged. It wont proc at all so I can't currently test this.
Thanks for giving me ideas to test things guys! It's helped me identify things that aren't currently working. There is zero conversation about resto shaman talents on the beta shaman forum, so this really helps!

Speaking of Earth Shield, currently on live Purification only effects Earth Shield when it is cast on yourself. Has this been rectified in the beta or is it still functioning in this manner?

Latest blue post:
Restoration
* Nature's Guardian cooldown has been changed from 8 to 5 seconds.
* Spirit Link now also breaks if a shared damage would reduce a target's health below 20%.
|
The change to Spirit Link eliminates one of the biggest concerns shaman have had about the talent -- that since we can't control who it links to we could easily kill raid members who were already low on health. The change to Nature's Guardian is nice but will probably mean more to shaman who PVP.
EDIT: Has anyone worked out the new spell power co-efficients for our healing spells?

Well that's strange, all the talent calculators were already updated with the 20% health requirement and the 30% damage limit although I noticed now the blizzard calculator doesn't have the 20% requirement(maybe that was the fix they were talking about?). My main concerns are still on just how the damage is distributed and to who the 30% damage limit applies since "Targets" is fairly ambiguous. Another concern is the range on spirit link since in many cases tanks are isolated in front of large raid mobs with cleave type abilities. Hopefully a working version of spirit link hits beta some time soon so we can see how it plays out.

I worked out living weapon. I'll try to post when I get home and have some time. Been buried at work. But basically I went from 2500 healing to about 1300 spell power so I think most coef should be about 2x their previous. Hopefully I will get some time over the weekend and write up something more comprehensive.

I'm not in the beta so I can't confirm definitively, but critical strike rating (along with hit rating and haste rating) should apply to both spells and melee. Unless I completely misunderstand the new stat conversions.

HAs anyone seen mixed crit/spell power gems. I am guessing those along with the spell power/mp5 will be our new mainstays.
I have a feeling that not that we need 3 stats (SP,crit,mp5) we will not have alot of gem space left for haste at least initially.
Think T4/T5 gemming, not T6 sunwell.
One additional thing for beta testers, I did not see anything in the beta forums about bumping the # of orbs in watershield with imp WS. Could someone suggest that, otherwise we are going to be wasting ALOT of GCD's refreshing WS.
I would suggest 1 orb per point in imp WS.

I been thinking about posting in the beta forums about it but haven't done so yet. What I'd ideally like is for the imp ws to act like static shock so that you regain a orb for everyone you consume. I really don't want to go back to recasting WS every 15 s.

I actually posted asking that we get more orbs like the other shields and that water shield be taken off the gcd since other healers mechanisms for regen are either passive (illumination and meditation/intensity) or procs (serendipity).

Call me crazy, but wasn't the damage shared on spirit link 30% before? Because currently the blizzard talent calculators as well as the databases all say 50% damage shared...

Hmm, so with this in mind the following scenario would not work, right?
Group 1
Ele Shaman, Warlock, Warlock, Warlock, Spriest
Group 2
Resto Shaman, Mage, Spriest, Priest, Mage
- Group 1 and 2 are within 20 yards of each other.
- The Ele Shaman puts down Wrath of Air, Totem of Wrath, Mana Spring, Tremor Totem (Earth totem for 2pc t6 bonus)
- The Resto Shaman puts down Wrath of Air, Flametongue Totem, Mana Spring
With the totems listed - would group 1 not recieve Flametongue Totem, Mana Spring or Wrath of Air from the Resto Shaman and likewise, would the Resto Shaman not recieve the Totem of Wrath, Mana Spring or Wrath of Air from the Elemental Shaman?
I was under the impression Blizzard intended on making all totems raidwide, regardless of whether they stacked, as a way to not pidgeon hold a Resto Shaman into the tank group so he can give the tank Windfury for more aggro, or GoA/SoE for more mitigation etc. I was hoping this change would allow the Shaman to give the tank, if he's required, Windfury but stay in a Mage group so he gains the Spriest's Vampiric Touch and also gives the Mages/Spriest higher mp/5 values.
Could someone clarify my query?

From that example, only one wrath of air would show up for either. The same with mana spring. They can't get double of those totems. They don't stack. So really if they were 20 yards apart and staying in a fixed location it would be a waste for them both to drop mana and wrath. Group 1 would get flametongue from the resto, and group 2 would get totem of wrath from the ele.
The question the person asked me to test was if both mana springs were down would everyone get benefits from both mana springs. And the answer was no, unless both shaman were in the same group (although I'm almost certain that is a bug and mana spring probably isn't intended to stack in or out of group).

Latest post on WoR includes: Earth Shield mana cost has been doubled. Rank 3 at level 70 now costs 900 mana instead of 450.
Could possibly be an unintentional change, or maybe it points to Earth Shield becoming undispellable? I can't see any obvious other reason for increasing the cost so dramatically. Either way it's a blow for pve.

That's quite a reversal in policy. Could our dedicated beta testers see if the number of charges of Earth Shield has changed? Or perhaps the amount healed? Can anyone confirm that it can still be dispelled? I hope if they doubled the mana cost we're getting something more out of Earth Shield.
EDIT: What are the new costs for these ranks?
Earth Shield (Rank 4) - 860 mana, 300 healing.
Earth Shield (Rank 5) - 1020 mana, 337 healing.

Sort of an odd question, and certainly not one related to raid healing in WotLK, but it was brought up in the enhancement thread and was determined to be more of a resto-thread question. If one is DWing weapons with Earthliving on them, does the proc rate increase? Is it 40%? 36%? Still just 20%?
Before I get laughed out of the thread because it's irrelevant to 25-man raiding, many DPS shaman, myself included, enjoy healing 5-mans and heroics and don't bother respeccing, and it's not unheard of for a specific fight to have a significant enough healing requirement to require a DPS to put on healing gear and help out. (We do this a lot on Kara alt runs for Nightbane or Prince when one healer is just bad, or badly geared.) As an enhancement shaman, the ability to dual wield healing weapons was removed by making them all MH-only, but that doesn't prevent us from taking a random off-handable weapon with healing stats (say, an "of the Physician" green) and putting a +heal enchant on it instead of using a shield. The benefit of that now is fairly low, but if EL "stacks", then it could turn the tables significantly.

In the first beta patch Ancestral Knowledge was changed to increase Intellect by 2/4/6% instead of Mana by 2/4/6/8/10%. The talent calculators are still showing 5 ranks of Ancestral Knowledge increasing intellect by 2/4/6/8/10%.
Can someone in beta confirm that AK is still 5 ranks?
I expected the talent calculators to be updated with the recent changes so I'm wondering if the patch notes just missed two ranks.

I follow the enh thread and I uh noticed malan's opinion of this question but I didn't think it was a silly question at all. I still remember while we were on council and had a few kills on them but hadn't really gotten then on "farm". The preist tank died so preist tank healer (a pally) jumped in and started tanking but he really wasn't able to heal himself and tank so one of our enh shamans switched to healing on him and would run in SR rage to get his mana back then go back to healing. This basically saved us from a wipe. While certainly no one goes into a fight thinking this is going to be a good idea it DOES happen and its always good to understand game mechanics. I have an enh specced shaman on the beta I can try it out however I have to raid tonight and tomorrow so if someone can do it before then and post results that would be great.

WARNING: speculation ahead
So I was bored at work and trying to figure out how SL will work in its current form. The link will have to be smart enough to distribute damage even if one of the conditions breaks it or else it is basically useless. The system I came up with looked like this:
Attack for 100000 damage(before mitigation)
Attack for 20000 dmg (after mitigation)
Step 1:
Split dmg, 10000 max to tank, 5000 max to each linked target
If only one link is up the split would be 15k to tank, 5k to linked target (maybe 10k/10k, either would fit the model)
Step 2:
If link dmg (5k) leaves the linked target below 20%, adjust dmg to have the linked target end up @ 20%, reapply that dmg back to the tank. Check for each of the 2 links.
Step 3:
If (tank dmg + Any reapplied dmg form step 2)>30% total health then link breaks, tank takes the entire remaining dmg. Hopefully he doesnt die.
20k hit after mitigation
Example:
Tank 20k/20k health
Link 1 12k/12k health
Link 2 11k/11k health
Link 1- 5k hit
Link 2 - 5k hit
Tank- 10k hit
Link breaks
Example 2:
Tank- 18k/20k health
Link 1- 7k/12k health
Link 2- 3k/11k health
Link 1- 4.6k hit
Link 2- 800 hit
Tank- 14.6k hit
Link breaks
Example 3:
Tank 10k/20k
Link 1- 3k/12k
Link 2- 4k/11k
Link 1- 600 hit
Link 2- 1800hit
Tank- 17.6k hit
Link breaks, tank dies (hope he has spirit gaurdian on him)
Im not saying this is how it will be just how think it might work once they get it to work. Then again I might be wrong on how they want it to work.
