[Hunter] Shot Rotation Spreadsheet

Download:
HasteSPRDSHTv3.xls - FileFront.com

Explanation:
For a very long time Cheeky's spreadsheet has been law so-to speak in terms of hunter DPS. Over time however I began to wonder at what point certain haste affects would alter my rotation. This didn't become important until I changed to survival and began weaving shots with a few different rotations. What I wanted to see was at what point under what common raid haste affects my rotation would change so that I could adjust accordingly. This spreadsheet will tell you what exactly your haste will be under some different haste affects and also lists combinations of those affects. More importantly you can also see when you will begin to clip your shots if you are BM. I do realize this spreadsheet will only matter for a short time (until WOTLK) however I hope it helps.

Notes / How to use:
Let me clarify something though, this spreadsheet will not spit out a number declaring your what your dps will be. That is not what this spreadsheet is for. This spreadsheet was made to provide you with information about haste and your rotation. Below is a quick diagram illustrating how to use the spreadsheet. If you were a BM hunter you would put " 20 " in the slot for Serpents Swiftness. If your quiver speed is lower than 15% then adjust it accordingly.

Hasted speeds are displayed to the right of the specified buff / speed / combination.

If you have any questions please feel free to private message me on these boards. All information on the spreadsheet is unlocked so you can add more haste affects if you'd like other combinations. At the bottom of the spreadsheet I added some hunter theory-crafting notes from a few threads to help you calculate haste and what your rotation will be at different speeds. Happy hunting!

Version: 3
  • Added Berserking buffs for 10/20/30 %'s and combinations.
  • Completely revamped data representation.

Not bad, but perhaps you could make the weapon speed & Steady/Auto table into formulas as well?
Rather then having a fixed list of speed have the list of possible buff there and change the numbers accordingly?

Would greatly ease the effort required to see what buffs require what rotation. Just an idea though :P
I'ld change it myself and mail it to you, but I'm currently working on preparing a WLK rotation spreadsheet for when the Hunter-polish is finished, so I don't have the time.

The paper doll value of the weapon is the "Normal Speed" number. I left the weapon speed in so that people could put in whatever their weapons speed was, say 3.0, or 2.8 for the badge bow and the like. I'll see about actually making a table that shifts with the speed formulas as hasted speed changes from gear. Not sure how I'd like to implement it.

I was thinking of instead of the list/table of attack speeds you have listed there, you change that list to the speeds of your buffs. Ordered by speed, buff uptime or just alphabetical doesn't matter imo.

Also, have you considered adding DST?
And personally I don't see much use for listing every different gear slot for haste rating, as you can read the total on your attack speed tooltip.

Just trying to give you my PoV, do with it what you like :D

But this isn't always for the gear you are wearing, it may be for the gear you want to wear. You might argue we could add it up with a calculator... but that's kind of what we have spreadsheets for. Thanks for the work Sympa, I'm going to play with it some this evening.

Dragonspine haste affects will be included in the next version.

Looking for someone with more experience than myself at Excel to ask a few questions of. Please send me a PM thanks!
