It's kinda normal, I did 960 with no consumables last time.

I got my DPS number from SWStats, that option to display your personal DPS in the frame title. I think it said 1001.6. It didn't seem that unreasonable to me, because according to the DPS spreadsheet I should be able to pull 1400ish DPS with standard raid buffs (no consumables) under ideal conditions, but Gruul's armor is a bit high and the shatter time brought it down to around 1000. We don't use any strategy other than "spread out" for shatters since we were used to him pre-nerf so now it seems really easy.
Edit: I didn't use any consumables either.

I want to stick with swords, but I feel a little silly putting mongoose on latro's - what if it gets adjusted? Can someone reassure me that putting mongoose on latro's isn't a waste of resources?

Well you could go for...the Quickblade, it's not that expensive and well...it's arguably a upgrade to latro's.
On topic though.. T5 gives me 700hp and 2% crit, perhaps 100ap over my current gear also gives me a nice hit nerf. Excessive stamina and well, gah. it's just horrible. It's as if they tried to make T5 pvp viable and well...failed at it.

Ok, I thought you were pulling the number from the "Effective DPS" section of SW_Stats. From personal experience the effective section always displays a lower number and I am curious as to what it's criteria for "effective" is heh.

I think "effective" compares your damage done vs. the time the raid is doing damage, rather than time you yourself are.
Example:
I dps for 2 minutes then die in a 3 minute fight.
I do 120k damage.
My DPS would be 1k, but my effective dps would be 666.67.... if I'm understanding this properly.

Me too, as I'll have to continue the trend of never getting socket bonuses =/ What's up with all the blue sockets?
On the bright side though, the stats are great, and I'm liking the passive armor ignore. That could be really cool.

Well consider the chest piece:
Imagine a combat build, so you'll want 2x 8hit gems... then you're faced with the blue slot.
If you put a Shifting Nightseye, ignoring the stamina (if dps is what you're concerned about most) you have a 4agi socket fitting gem. If you put anything else, you don't get the socket bonus, so you can essentially look at the blue slot as a 4agi 8ap gem with 6stm as a nice extra... not very much different than a third 8hit. Also consider the fact that meta gems are getting more strict next patch and getting a socket bonus for fulfilling your meta gem requirement is hardly something to complain about.
Granted on the same note, the gloves won't be getting a blue gem, unless I need it for my meta. :P

Well, at current, blue gems are needed to activate the two new uber metagems that are being added, so having blue sockets available is quite possibly a good thing.
On the whole, though, that set is almost too good to be legal. It's miles ahead of anything else available on a slot-for-slot basis, and the set bonuses are disgusting as well.

Well I guess you're right that it's worth getting the socket bonus, especially if you need it to activate a meta gem, but I'd still prefer them as reds or even more yellows =P
Er, sorry I edited a bit after you quoted me, the same meaning's still there.

Not gonna argue there... :[ One of the reasons I like the Fel Leather set so much is cause it's got so much of the stats/socket colors I'm looking for.... at a severe lack of survivability.
