When you open the spreadsheet, there will be a bar at the top displaying a warning, click on settings and enable the use of macros in the spreadsheet

Or goto your excel settings tab, select security and security center, click on macro settings and lower the security level for macros.

1) Of course it was checked. Besides some minor clipping that was noted quite rarely, they match.

2) 6-7 times x 1 min x each rotation. Outside factors where eliminated of course (no trinkets, no AotH, etc), but results varied a bit due to different crit rate, which was expected. The sample was decent enough though to get a conclusion.

Again, I want to note that I am curious as what is the modeling of the 'spam macro' from the three above in the spreadsheet.

A couple things: ZA bow is improperly named, and could you add the badge xbow reward to the next release as well?
On a related note, I discovered that the xbow doesn't do as well as the amani bow, even though the dps is higher. I think this is due to the armor pen and the 1% crit i get for being a troll. so it makes me feel better that blizz isn't completely giving out superior welfare epics...

Cheeky's spreadsheet is simply amazing and my dps has increased significantly since I began using it and raiding. I use it as a guide for all my upgrades.

I recently dl'ed the newest spreadsheet (43) to try to figure out what I could use from the new sunwell loots (I realize they might be changed but I like to see what's available to me) and while going over my upgrade chart I found out the the twinblades of the Phoenix from Kael are going to give me a 2DPS decrease versus my Vengeful Gladiator's Waraxe. What's odd about this is the older version I had (not that old mind you) put the twinblades as one of the best (if not the best) 2-hnd weapon I could get. I realize I loose some hit when getting the twinblades, but I tried resocketing and it still showed a small decrease.

Anyone else see this? Perhaps Cheeky changed the values of Armor penetration?

I made sure I have all the buffs on me (I am mostly concerned with raid dps and we have 4-5 palys in our raid most of the time. So I have all the paly buffs, mage buff, druid buff, warp burger and flask of relentless striking). I use a 1:1 rotation and a cat pet.

The thing is I would hate to pass on the twinblade only to find out something was a bit off with the Spreadsheet, just as much as if I "Need" the twinblade and find out they hurt my dps (and it could have gone to someone else)

Any help/insight is always appreciated.

Don't sign your posts and the hit was most likely the difference. An old version of the spreadsheet had everything on 1 roll. The newer versions have 2 rolls (hit/crit) for all our shots. Hit's value slightly increased.

According to the spreadsheet this is the heaviest dps method for me by a large margin from the others (100-200dps). But I tried all three macros on Dr-Guinea-Pig-Boom and got no real differences. PS: The Buffs Profile selection tab is protected in this version of the spreadsheet and you cannot change it (cell D4).

The spreadsheet models rotations, not macros. How you achieve the rotation is an exercise left to the reader. I've been a complete failure at generating the 3:2 rotation with a [Serpent Spine Longbow], so I've switched back to a 1:1 with my [Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle] and started setting personal DPS highs again. Other people have had incredible luck with the spam-macros. There is too much randomness involved in seeing how macros translate into rotations.

I added changes to the shot rotation to better model some of the timing we are seeing. I don't think any of us really has a great understanding of how to model the newer macros and the server-side changes.

I'll add as much gear as I can. Hope to release a new version tonight. For me (a troll) the [Crossbow of Relentless Strikes] is best in slot (non-orange text only) and actually had me join a Kara clear for the first time in 6 months....

I have a question Cheeky, why is the ability to not add other hunters' FI to your buffs still not an option? Am I just missing something here?. How about a flag for 3% crit from a ret paladin as well?

I plan to add the Pally buff, but no other BM Hunter really provides 3% extra damage. It's something less than that, and it depends on that other Hunter and his pet. (Plus, for comparitive purposes 3% damage is just 3% damage, it doesn't help in evaluating gear/talent/rotation concerns of your own.)

Last update for a few weeks. We'll let the gear changes on the PTR settle down before adjusting them.

Bug in v44: elixirs get cleared by the flask field being set to None during buff profile loading

Could we get an option to ignore meta gem requirements, to make comparing pieces quicker in cases that require swapping gems around in the rest of the gear?

There's also some buffs that could be added: Unleashed Rage (for pet), Inspiring Presence, Flame Cap (1m duration/3m cooldown), Haste Potion (eek, doubling the count of haste states--not worth the trouble?), and Improved Sanctity Aura, as well as FI's/Improved Seal of the Crusader as Estala said.

And one final pipe dream: I'd love to see a fight duration limit in order to work towards being able to value mana gains in terms of total damage done. This would then benefit from adding buff options for modeling various mana potions, Vampiric Touch, Spellsurge etc. I also noticed that Viper is being modeled as 25% of Int still, but better math in a continuous model eludes me. Then again maybe what I want is more a simulator than a spreadsheet. Either way, thanks for the invaluable tool.

Cheeky I think I found a possible flaw in your spreadsheet regarding the 3:2 rotation, as I am obtaining an unreliable and incorrect simulation. Results from the spreadsheet showed up that the 3:2 rotation is the worst option I could adopt, compared to every other one (incase Armory is down I am using a [Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle]). These results confused me quite much since I have been using the 3:2 for a while and always noticed high dps on live realms.

So I decided to run a test on Dr Boom and tried the 1:1 Auto-Steady rotation and the 3:2 rotation. Unfortunately I am unable to provide a combat log since for some reason it does not save my results in wowcombatlog.txt ( /combatlog command works, it says it is starting to log, but infact it won't save anything on the txt file, even after giving the /combatlog input again).

So far the results from the spreadsheet were these (Both spreadsheet and live testing results are not including pet dps):

1:1 Auto-steady rotation -> 810 dps
3:2 Rotation -> 751 dps

But in fact the results from live testing on Dr. Boom were:

1:1 Auto-steady rotation -> 760 dps
3:2 rotation -> 830 dps

While I understand that the spreadsheet can't provide exact informations regarding dps, I am unable to figure out why the spreadsheet penalizes so much 3:2 rotations, when in fact 3:2 rotations seem to best any other rotation on "live" testing.

Note: All live testing were performed using Imp. AotH / Hourglass of the unraveller, Hunter Mark always up and Crit % was constant with the value I have, 30%. Live testing is a result of 3 sessions (Lenght of the session= time till I ran out of mana)on Dr Boom, under the same conditions.

My bet would be that your latency is worse than you have input in the spreadsheet, and the /castsequence macro is generating much more clipping than you think. Getting a timestamped combat log is the only was to ascertain if that is happening or not.
