I've got this kind of error as well when the armory website don't respond fast enough (time out)

but what I don't understand is that it still works fine for the talents(which are loaded from the armory too) =S

1 - I don´t really mind. IMHO improving gear pre-70 to the extend of using your spreadsheet is overkill considering you´ll outgrow it pretty soon.
2 - I actually like this feature a lot. In addition to my status-quo profile I do have a few other "wishlist" profiles. Wheras I can use the armory button for the former, I´d always have to hand input the others if it wasn´t for the import function. That beeing said if it´s only once between two specific versions I won´t complain - even less considering it´d take an efford of 8 hours on your side to do so.

I'm guessing you're wearing gear that, for some reason or another, isn't in the spreadsheets' data base. As Cheeky said, non hunter gear (ie Gorehowl, Hellreaver, etc that virtually no hunters use) or simply green quality items with hunter stats, that aren't in the spreadsheet because it's too much work to implement all the possible combinations. So, to put it more clearly, when you load one of those items from the armory, the spreadsheet won't identify it. That means you'll get an error, and since there is no matching entry for that gear slot, it should be displayed as empty.

I didn't made a test about my following thought, but find it rather rational.

If you browse the armory and change the armory-language, this gets saved in a cookie.
It could be, that the armory-import in excel is affected by this cookie and therefor the armory responds the german/french/italian (or whatever language you use) item-names.

My armory is in english so the problem shouldn't be coming from that. Also it might be because of my ring (arcane loop of agility) that is a random stats blue ring, but would that really stop the spreadsheet from reading all the other gears?

This also happens to me, and only happens when the armory is having problems. Usually I can still load talents fine, so I'm guessing the armory problems are connected to the item database.

Would it be possible to add a set of cells which scale the "Attribute + 1" results (Settings and Results!F41-47) by item budget cost coefficients (and then normalize the lowest value to 1.0)? I've love to be able to get a rough idea how different possible item budget expenditures measure up for a particular character build.

I've noticed this in the last 3 versions (and also found in the new 12/4 version) that
Ranged Weapons which are (or should be) superior to the Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle greatly reduce DPS totals
with no reasonable explanation I can find. I have to assume this is a bug, and I've
read the last 6 pages of forums but didn't see any mention of the issue.

For instance, if I were to upgrade my Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle for the Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix or the Vengeful Gladiator's Rifle on the sheet,
I would lose 14.66 or 6.95 DPS respectively.

I realize my gear isn't much for anything outside of KZ but I don't know of any reason that additional
damage & +agi (in the case of the bow) should reduce.

Just wanted to point out a bug now that I've researched enough that I think
I know what I'm talking about. As my luck is nil, please excuse me if this
was discussed further back in the thread ... I apologize as I have missed any
such mention.

I just have one problem, I cant click on the tabs that say "reset", "1:1", "save", "import", "export", etc. While the rest is no problem at all, I think it might be because I'm using micrsoft office excel 2007?

Sniper, I don't have 07 but a guildie does and he ran into the same problem. I wish I knew exactly where,
but there is a security setting for Macros somewhere in that new mess that will allow you to enable the macros
and then all the buttons will work as well. I know that's vague, but I hope it helps.

Thanks bnang, you at least verified the problem here. Anyone knows how to bypass this problem? (if an answer is given for this, it would be nice to be updated in the front page (Cheeky) for those using 2007)

Thanks Hoverpuma, but I'm not BM, therefore not much of that actually applies to me/my build. I was just checking to make sure that there wasn't something else going on.

Oh, well that's different. Did you make sure to recompute your shot rotation after switching ranged weapons?

(Sorry for the above; confusion about Wolfslayer and "it's from Opera; it can't possibly really be better!" is pretty rampant among BM hunters, so I jumped to a conclusion.)

Okay, i know this the debate between the Wolfslayer and Sunfury has been going on for a while now, and i honestly don't tant to add to it, i just want some feedback.

Checking the armory i've seen where the Wolfslayer i rated 9th overall and the sunfury is rated 5th overall (over TK, Hyjal and BT ranged weapons), the Vengeful gladiator weapons being next and Lady Vaj's bow at the top. Now i've been working the spreadsheet's shot rotations, etc.. and found that Wolfslayer still gives me a better overal dps even tho i'm Surv/MM so my question is simply this.. should i bother to try and get Sunfury or the bow from ZA? My guild is past Kara now, doing ZA and gruuls/SSC so if i want Sunfury i'm gonna have to get it on my own time. Is it worth the effort or just try and get to Vaj and squeeze her till her bow drops?

The armory appears to rank the items based on their budget, the item level or "ilvl" and that's one of the things that breaks hunter damage. The feature that leads to amazing BM hunter damage is haste because it reduces the cool-down time on auto shot. The wolfslayer sniper rifle has just the right cool-down time that the BM spec's passive haste ends up with a very tight shot rotation that has very little (or zero) wasted time. Weapon speed is something that's not considered by the armory.

Might as well wait on Vashj's bow.
