Quite simply, you are wrong. The numbers on Blessing of Light are exact numbers for every Holy Light/Flash of Light learned at level 20 and beyond. If you were a Paladin, I'd tell you to go test it for yourself. Since you are not, I will tell you to trust me to know and test the class I play.

Just curious about where you got your downranking penalty value. WoWWiki says:
1 - (((Level at which next higher rank of Spell is Learned) + 5) / (Player's Level)) = Penalty

HL6 is learned at 38.

1 - ((38 + 5) / 70) = ~0.386 penalty or ~61.4% of healing

Something I'm missing?

Aramul and Fiola are correct. BoL is a flat amount applied after all other modifiers.

I've played one for a long time, but retired after Lashlayer 1st kill long ago, we needed more priests :/

Hm, allways used slvl+6/clvl for this. Just checked http://www.wowwiki.com/Formulas:Plus...d_Plus_healing to see some line was adding during time :/

So it may look like this?

hl r5
[552(baseheal average)+[921(+heal amount)*0.714(2.5/3.5 casttime coeffizient)*0.614(1-(38+5)/70 dr-penality)]]*1.12(talent)+580(blessing)=1650

6.00 hpm
660 hps (w/o light's grace)
825 hps (with light's grace)

hl r7
[999(baseheal average)+[921(+heal amount)*0.714(2.5/3.5 casttime coeffizient)*0.842(1-(54+5)/70 dr-penality)]]*1.12(talent)+580(blessing)=2319

4.98 hpm // 927 hps (w/o light's grace) //1160 hps (with light's grace)

hl r9
[1680(baseheal average)+921(+heal amount)*0.714(2.5/3.5 casttime coeffizient)*0.957(1-(62+5/70) dr-penality)]*1.12(talent)+580(blessing)=3166

4.79 hpm // 1266 hps (w/o light's grace) // 1583 hps (with light's grace)

fol r7
[[475(baseheal average)+921(+heal amount)*0.429(casttime coeffizient)*1.0(dr-penality)]+185(blessing)=1055

5.86 hpm // 703 hps

hl r11
[[2321(baseheal average)+[921(+heal amount)*0.714(2.5/3.5 casttime coeffizient)*1.0(dr-penality)]]*1.12(talent)+580(blessing)=3916

4.66 hpm // 1566 hps (w/o light's grace) // 1958 hps (with light's grace)

---

Paladin (1500 heal, hl with light's grace & blessing applied, full holy) 4380 hp healed 2189 hps 5.21 hpm

---

Or do i miss anything else?

edit: just realised i mixed a lot of false numbers during my days from yesterday, eg basehealamount of hl r7 & r9 and so one ~~

With regard to solo-healing: In Karazhan, I often find myself healing our main tank (feral druid). I am the only paladin in our raid, and I'm wondering whether it'd make more sense to sub in BoL in place of the BoK I've been using. Would the additional healing from BoL to my FoL spam be worthwhile, or would the buff to dodge via agility as well as the extra stamina from BoK work better?

If you have the libram from Kara I'd use BoL unless your tank is worryingly undergeared. It kicks flash of light up to 1k hps and 10hpm

You don't actually need to use BoL to get the bonus from that Libram, if you're the only Paladin that's a nice bonus, but it makes it less good if there's multiple Paladins. The librams actual effect is just a flat boost of 96 to any Flash of Light or Holy Light spell you cast.

I still obviously favor BoL outside of certain very, very specific situations, but the Libram of Souls Redeemed does not actually make BoL stronger; it simply makes your heals stronger (And due to that is currently simply the strongest healing Libram out there).

Always have BoL on the main person you are healing unless you don't expect them to be taking much damage. It's an enormous boost to your healing.

Seconded.

If you are expected to contribute meaningful amounts of healing on a given target, then they should have BoLight.

For a tank with a dedicated paladin healer:
Light > Kings/Sanct > Sanct/Kings > Might

One thing I don't see mentioned at all here is farming using seal of vengeance if you're worried about skipping command and ret altogether for that purpose. I'm quite happy with my grinding speed using seal of vengeance, I've found it to be almost as fast as seal/judge seal of righteousness (everytime the cd is up) but far less mana intensive cutting down on downtime - no pun intended. I should say I use some fairly modest spell damage gear to farm - about 430 I believe - with liberal applications of ZHC, Xiri's Gift, and Avenging Wrath.

Its not spelllevel + 6. Its spelllevel + 6 + Level Difference Modifier.

I made a post recently about this, should explain it all:
