Action bar addons recommendations

Bartender3, which i have used for the last month, has in the last few days for some strange reason (no new addons installed etc.) startet to behave strangely in regards to keybindings, so strange that i actually had to replace it.

Thing is, i kind find a good replacement.

Even with the latest versions, most addons are a hell to configure for a druid with stance bar, and several of them are despite being updated more or less bugged.

Currently i had bad luck with TrinityButtons and Bongos, Bongos simply refuses to acknowledge Page changing upon form change, trinity had a few setup problems as well that ended up with the minimap button disappearing (and not coming back even after i deleted the saved variables files for trinity, all configuration done with all other addons disabled btw).

If anyone has a suggestion for an easy to configure action bar addon (I would prefer to avoid Nurfed as well), and i certainly wouldn't mind it workable with cyCircled though not a requirement, please write here with your suggestions.

Have you tried raising your problems with Bartender3 on the wowace forum?

I have used other bar mods in the past but Bartender3 is by far the best.

I'm using the latest version of bongos, the keybindings are all in the default wow keybindings page are they not? Is it possible you updated some of the ace plugins it depends upon?

I was coming in here to post about Bongo's but Ruro beat me to it. (Frickin' aussies and their future time!)

But anyway, yeah, Bongo's is pretty much the best non-Bartender bar mod I've ever seen. It's not Ace-d, but it's just as lightweight as any Ace mod I've come across, and extremely easy to setup.

Problem is that the mod simply isn't working with stance pages, it simply has configuration issues in options in this regard. Overall the option menu looks like it makes it easy to set it up for page switch on stance pages, but it seems bugged with latest version and i gave up on the configuration after 3 savedvariables deletions as well as 1 hour of constant work with it.

This is the latest version btw.

While i indeed believe that Bartender3 is the best mod around atm. (though the best ever was Discord Action Bars IMO), this is annoying the crap out of me.

However, your suggestion is valid and i will of course take it to the wowace forums.

Actually are you using embedded libraries or standalone?

And if you are using embedded libraries are all your Ace mods up to date? Or is it possible one of them uses older libraries (this happens when a mod hasn't been updated for a while). This can sometimes cause weird errors.

The above is one of the main reasons why I use standalone libraries.

Well, something has to have changed in the past few days to cause the issue. If no new mods were installed, did you perhaps update your ace libraries/addons using wowaceupdater? Have you tried clearing the various cache directories to see if that has an effect?

Also sometimes the newest version don't work correctly (I've had that issue several times). Try using an older version of Bartender.

Are you using all the bars? For warriors, bars 7-10 are not useable due to stance changes. I use bars 1-6 as needed and have flexbar2 for pots and other items I have hotkeyed (shadowmeld, professions, fishing, hearthstone, etc).

No updates, nothing.

The bars are configureable in Bartender3, 7-10 isn't locked, you can change it to 1-3 or even 4,6,9 if you like.

No other suggestions for alternatives?

You may may have gotten the same problem I get once in a while, on both my Warlock and my Warrior.

I'll be playing and everything is fine. Then all of a sudden I hit a keybinding, and the wrong spells go off. I unhide my bars (all my bars are hidden and every action keybound) and notice that almost every action has changed positions and/or bars. And this issue is usually on my Warlock, who obviously doesn't have stance changing. When this happens, I simply Alt+F4 out of the game since the settings won't be saved and come back in.

If you're having keybinding issues between multiple characters, make sure to check "Use Character specific keybindings" at the top of the Keybinding frame.

Bartender3 used to have (used to, since I can't reproduce it right now, they might've removed it, I update weekly) that it switched bars with shift+#. So lets say I had all my shouts on bar 3 and my melee on bar 1, I accidentally press shift+3 when going for alt+3 or whatever cause of sausage fingers and it'd switch so my main bar (1) would be replaced with my shout bar (3), which was incredibly highly annoying. Other than that tidbit, I haven't had any problems with bartender, a bit annoying when they removed the cooldowncount and keybinding settings from their config menu, but easy to set up and has always worked flawless with all my stances.

Semi-related tangent - what numeric cooldown addons do people use with bartender3? (add mine to the voices claiming that the latest update works fine on a druid and a warrior)

I tried using CooldownCount from wowace, but it isn't showing up. Maybe cyCircled is the culprit?

I also use CooldownCount and it's working perfectly with version 26541. I use one of the default buttonlayouts (zoomed), so it probably is cyCircled. For reference, my Bartender3 version is 29245 I believe.

I managed to replicate the problem by disabling my action bar mod. Guess what, im getting the stance-problem with action bars not switching using the default UI action bars.

I guess its one of my addons causing the havoc somewhere and not Bartender3.

Guess its time to clean up then.

Slightly late but: indeed, Bartender works like a charm, combined with cycircled and Cooldown Count. I recently redid my UI, dropping some unneeded stuff and in general adjusting it towards my new main (warrior). The only glitch happened when I gained a new stance which wouldn´t work till I relogged. Apart from that...no complaints yet.

The only thing that irritates me are some hidden cast bars, that sometimes show up for a split second (only as shadows though). I don't know though what triggers them, beeing unable to reproduce that glitch. Since I don't have ECB or OCB installed, I suspect the culprit is either aguf or bartender.

I use OmniCC for the cooldowns. It's not ACEd, but it's so damn small that it makes no difference at all.

I may have to get OmniCC. I deleted CouldownCount, Bartender3, and cyCircled last night and installed teh newest version. I double-checked the settings. No cooldown numbers.

Thats really strange Apate. Its working fine for me (with newest versions) in fact it wasn't working when I used OmniCC and I switched to CooldownCount cause of that.
