Request: Autorespond during boss encounters

Heya,

I was just wondering if anyone was aware of a Mod or could give me some advice about making one that achieves the same functionality as DBM/LV boss mods: I want it to be able to autorespond to a whisper I receive whilst a boss is engaged with the status of the fight as these mods do.

Because Im one of the louder and more obnoxious members of the guild, then all the apps we recieve seem to whisper me at really inapropriate moments whilst Im pewpewing internet monsters, and I cant really reply to them. I dont want them to think Im ignoring them, but its a bit of a bugger to find the time to reply when you are fighting something and trying to concentrate vaguely on the task in hand.

If anyone could give me some advice, it would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this will suffice or not, but you can use the in-game DND flag that will autorespond when people send you a whisper.

Just type "/dnd <Your message>" and whenever someone whispers you they'll receive that message automatically.

I think he wants it to go up during boss fights and down when they're on trash or between attemts. /dnd is the manual way to do it, yes, but he wants automatic.

Yeah exactly that. Basically Im vastly forgetful, and Ill never remember to flag DND up/down, and I also find it annoying when all the messages in chats have the DND flag up.

I once saw someone using the LaVendetta boss mods having such a kind of autoresponder, showing him infight with a boss with an estimated time till combat was concluded. Don't know if this mod still works though, haven't used it for some time.

Since you mention LV/DBM and then ask if there's another alternative... is there some reason you aren't using those mods?

They seem to be pretty efficient, and I'm sure you can leave out a good bit of the specific boss mods if you don't feel a need for them. I guess I just don't see why you're after another mod that does something that is already available.

I just prefer Bigwigs basically: I prefer the functionality, the ace compatability and it gets updated a lot faster than DBM does.

The major problem with the kind of mod you want (autorespond only while boss is active) is that it then needs to know you're doing a bossfight, and it'll wind up replicating a fair amount of bossmod functionality.

Better would be to try to get a BigWigs module created to serve this purpose.

thats a really good idea. I shall attempt to fanboy the makers into including it!
