Unless there is something else to do, I disabled everything but party interface and tried to slim it down as much as possible from there and it still ate up memory.

Pitbull shows ora2 mt targets just fine. Perhaps you need to update addon, or enable frames in options.

dont assume things : )
i really like pitbull, and have tweaked the shit out of it in hopes i can use it in raids without experiencing the same frame lag described above, but it just wont happen. turning so many modules off, anything i can think to do to make it as simple a raid frame as i can. it isnt that, there is an actual problem with the running of the raid frames period for some people, unfortuneately. best not to assume he is some idiot with every option turned on and crying that he is lagged.

To address the above poster who said to turn unnecessary options off...I've run Pitbull with only Raid enabled and still experience incredible lag on any sort of raid makeup change...and at random intervals throughout the night.
I was a big fan of Pitbull prior to 2.1. You can see my SS of my customizeable raid frames earlier in the thread. Those .lua file adjustments are still available, but to me, they are not worth the memory usage, nor the fact that while in raid, if the leader swaps groups, the whole UI lags out, and names/class colors are not swapped properly. I'm back to using sRaidFrames right now. Nevertheless, as far as I can tell, Pitbull is still the only unit frame out there where you can edit the .lua file so you can show both dispellable debuffs AND select debuffs at the same time.
If I'm not mistaken, pre-2.1, Pitbull was promoted as being one of the more lightweight, memory friendly Unit Frames. Since 2.1 I've not seen that huge benefit.

I've had problems recently (post 2.1) with Pitbull taking up WAY more memory than anything else. There are times where it's ahead by nearly 3x as much as Ace2. I'm thoroughly confused because I have probably two-thirds of the Pitbull features disabled, I'm not sure what's going on.

Is there any word on the Energy Tick bug where combo points like to attach themselves to the energy tick and slide along the energy bar with the spark? It's really a strange bug. o_o Sometimes debuffs do it too.

Had to switch back to ag_unitframes for now due to severe lag appearing in raids that magically disappears with Pitbull removed. This was despite disabling the Pitbull raid frames and using sRaidFrames.
Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

The lag is pretty bad when you change groups around, and just after the mob dies, I get MASSIVE lag for a few seconds, its basically a total lockup.
I'm willing to deal with all of this, but one thing I've been wondering, is there any way to edit the mod or the code dealing with the range check? When it 'greys' targets that are out of range... it really doesn't grey them enough for my taste. The targets that are in range don't 'leap out at me' if you will. Especially on Tidewalker, where I heal the pit, this can be fatal. I need to know IMMEDIATELY who's in range, not just hmm... is that grey or is he hurt or....

This talk of lag in Pitbull is disturbing. Is it only in raids? I have only run solo since installing it a few days ago. I'll have to hit the wowace forums to find out more.

I have yet to experience any lag whatsoever, but I did have go revert to another version last week after my interface totally exploded. Right now one thing I am experiencing is being unable to rightclick anything to get popup menus. In raid window(blizzard interface) or in unit frames(Pitbull).

I've not experienced any lag with Pitbull recently (although I did a full update of all my Ace2 addons last night so I'll see next raid if there is an issue). The problem I do have is that I can't seem to work out how to change the location of buffs/debuffs. They always show below their unit frame and I cannot find any options to move them. I do remember seeing options in the dim and distant past when setting it up originally but these disappeared at some point and I cannot work out how to get them back.

For some reason, Pitbull hides options for frames when it thinks they're not being used at the moment. If you enable configuration mode it will create dummy buff placeholders and enable the configuration options for them. Look under Auras->Side.

Buffs and debuffs are under Auras or Power Auras or something like that.

I (think) it's only an issue if you have PitBull's raid frames enabled, and possibly the party frames. I use neither (instead using Grid for those), and it's not lagging me down in the slightest.

Yea I had to stop using the raid frames as well a few weeks ago and after that I dont see any lag either. I would hope this gets looked at by the developers and fixed or I will have go back to aguf.

I've been having a lot of hitching lately in raids. I do not use the party or raid frames while in raids and just assumed this was due to packet loss as I probably have one of the worst ISP's in the dsl category possible. If Pitbull is causing lag in raids no matter the modules enabled this would be pretty disturbing as I have most of my guild switched over to it currently. Anybody have any further info on this?

I am working this very minute on making the lag go away, so please, cool your heels for a little while, it's a relatively complex mathematical problem to solve. (complex queuing systems and the like)

Great to hear because it is a wonderful mod, even makes me consider dropping a HuD for it.

I would also suggest before you post you make sure you are running the very latest version as it is in a constant state of developement and improvement and there are changes being made almost daily.
Personally I use everything but the raid frames (I use Grid) and have never had a bit of lag. Then again, I have a rather highend system as well so that might make a difference.

I'm fairly certain these don't exist when I've looked but I'll check again tonight. I certainly do almost all modification in configuration mode so it not appearing because of that won't be the issue. I'm not sure Auras->Sides was an option though.

I'm having an issue with the threat bar(s) in PitBull. I have the latest version as of yesterday from files.wowace.com/latest. I'm at work now and wowace doesn't seem to be working, so I can't give the revision number.
I'm thrilled by the idea of the threat bar, but when I enabled the module, it automatically added a threat bar to player, pet, party, party pets, focus, raid, main tanks, and main assist frames. I only want it on the player frame, so I began removing it from the other frames in config mode. After removing it from the party frames in party-config mode, then switching to raid-config mode and doing the same, if I change config modes, the threat bars will have reappeared, although their "enable" option is still unchecked. I can make them disappear again (briefly) by checking and unchecking enable.
In addition, would it be possible to add an option to disable auto-hiding of the threat bar when solo? I'd love to just have an empty bar there while running around town rather than have my health and mana bars get taller and shorter as the bar enables and disables.
GREAT mod though, keep up the good work.
