Thank you.
I found this from Jerry:
"Edit 3: The code is quite buggy. I'll try to see why. I've removed the lua file and suggest everyone to install the original version."
Let's hope he will find some time to look at it. cck doesn't seem to be interested in the aura-module at all.

Ok got a question:
Is there any way to change the banzai module to only work when grouped?
Thanks Much

The problem with the Auras really sucks. I prefer Pitbull to AG_UF but Pitbull is quite unplayable as it is. I hope there is a real fix soon, or I will be hunting for a new unit frame.

I assume that everyone is working with the most recent version, but is there an older version that was more stable or has the aura problem been around since the beginning?

The Aura system initially made by ckknight worked perfect, it was very simple, didn't have many options, but it worked perfectly and displayed everything where you wanted it with none of this apparent lag that a lot of people have been experiencing (I do not..) however when the whole of the addon got split into modules, the Aura system was re-written by someone and it ended up in it's current form, which is the main reason why ckknight does not wish to fix it I believe.
You could go back to the one of the very early releases, but you would sacrifice the majority of the features you currently have.

Well that's interesting, considering he told me himself that he didn't write the Aura system as it currently as, and is one of the main things putting him off reviving / fixing it ;p
You could of course take it to #wowace where he can have his say

That would require me to 1) Actually care about an insigificant point about the aura system that works fine for me, or 2) Feel a need to prove myself to someone who's opinion very few here actually care about.
Since I am not inclined toward either, feel free to think you are correct and I will feel free to know you aren't and we can leave it at that.

Yea, syeren's right. I will fix the aura module, it's just kind of a pain, since I didn't write what's there currently. My initlal, small implementation worked great, but the current beast is just a bit bloaty and hard to deal with.
I'm currently working on another project named Joker, but that should be complete soon, and once that occurs, I will be looking into handling the Aura problem PitBull has.

*shrug*
Whatever the reason "of the moment" I don't much care. I've seen you give half a dozen reasons as to why you haven't touched it, and frankly since I have no problems with it, it doesn't bother me.
It is nice to see syeren being as predictable as ever though. Warms my heart.
Then again it did get you to respond to the topic, i fnothing else than to make syeren feel all warm and fuzzy inside, though holding ones breathe for a fix without you going off on a tangent before hand is not a gamble I am prepared to make.
You've done what? 3? 4? 5? addons since people complained about the aura module.

I'm sorry, are you really insisting that you were right after the developer himself came in to say that you were wrong, and then following that up with bitching about a guy doing too much work to make wow better for you?

No, not at all, and I will restrain myself from replying to your post in the manner it warrants.
I merely was stated the reasoning changes on a whim, not that the current excuse isn't valid.
I happen to use many of ckk's addons and have more than once defended PitBull and others. He just happens to have a severe case of ADD when it comes to addon coding

Or perhaps, he works on things that interest him because he is not being paid for his work and he does it in his free time?
I know you're appreciative, but your tone is a bit off.

yea, tell you what, pay me to write wow addon codes and I will make sure they are as bug free as possible and fix things quickly. OH also make sure that the addon doesnt get pirated, distributed with out people purchasing it.
Frankly, I'm just glad he's thinking of fixing some one elses mess.
Oh and btw, this forum really isn't a place to flame, fight bicker or make some one look petty, so please stop. Or if you would like to continue, Blizzard has a great set of forums pretty much just for that.

The thing is its not someone else's mess. His hands are all over the Aura module. Don't believe me? Look at the commit logs. I'm not saying its all his, but he shares as much with it as anyone.
The only thing about all this that is annoying, besides the cowards who use negative rep to leave rude and asinine comments, is that it took a disagreement with between myself and syeren over what ckk said (and to be correct, he has told more than one person more than one thing, so in all truth we were both correct) to even get ckk to say anything regarding the addon. Thats the first he has in what? Months? The last time he posted here was June, and the Wowace forums arn't much better.
People have posted pages and pages and pages of crys for help and for anyone to look at it and do something about it. What got done? CowTip, Parrot, Joker, etc. with a blind eye on the topics themselves.
Yes I realize 9/10 authors write addons for themselves and we should be thankful that they share them at all. Hell, I have writting addons for myself. But when you end up having thousands of people using those addons, addons that arn't working correctly for a considerable number of them, tossing a bone now and again is nice.
And if expressing my opinion on this is considered trolling than wtf ever. I don't consider any of the posts I made here to be trolling or without merit or fact.

Can someone tell me what Pitbull_Prat does? The entry for it says "integrates pitbull and chat"... what the heck does that mean?

Basically, if you have PitBull and Prat and that module, it will place a speech bubble next to the player frame of the person talking with the text they are saying.
There should be a topic buried in the wowace addon section on it.

no I encourage the expression, and i think A LOT of the stuff you have said is very relevant, and is cool, but the second, you start bagging on the guy above you and complaining about him when all he is doing is informing us of what CK is doing, thats when you went from insightful posts (like the one above this) to something that belongs on the blizzard forums

Apologies if it cropped up already, but the search didn't return anything that resembled this and definitely not how to fix it.
Basically, the problem is that whenever the raid setup changes (either by someone joining, or groups being swapped around), a layer or two appear - which basically block out most of the screen. Turning the layout config on + off 'fixes' the problem as does hitting a /reloadui.
It's rather awkward however when it happens in the middle of a fight or in a battleground.
Anyone know if this is a specific problem with Pitbull or is something else mucking up. It's persisted through various versions of Pitbull now and as much as I like it, by now I'm seriously considering switching back to AG_UF.

I sometimes see that too but only on Pitbull. Every once in awhile the party frame just magically appears (usually blinking rapidly for some reason) even though I have it turned off.

Regarding Pitbull - is there any way to manually reset the position of the raid frames? I accidentally moved one of the raid groups out of my screen and I can't seem to get it back, short of re-installing the mod completely.
Thanks in advance!
