I noticed a while ago that whenever I attempted to modify any settings in the Pitbull rock config, WoW encountered a fatal error and crashed. I can load profilesettings and move the bars around, but clicking anything in the actual GUI causes the crash. A search reveals this happening a quite a while back for some other users. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

You might want to update all of your AddOns. If that doesn't work, head to the WowAce help forum and ask for some help.

One of I'm sure to be many questions:
This is my pitbull-raidframes right now:
The size is set to height 23, with 0 vertical spacing in between. I don't understand why they're overlapping 2-3 pixels. Anyone know how to fix this?

The problem seems to have been caused by VisualThemes. Disabling it has stopped the crashes.

That's because there is a border around each Raidmembers frame. You can turn borders off, it's not the bars that overlap, just the borders.

If you wan't to keep the borders, just increase the spacing a bit , if you remove the border and set the background to black, you will still get a border effect, but only with 1 pixel ;I

Great, a Pitbull thread
For some reason my Pitbull "MT targets" and "MT target of target" frames doesent show up in raids. If I am the leader and manually enable MT's I can see them, but not in any other normal case where I get invited to our raid.
Pitbull is the only raidframes I have installed atm, perhaps I am missing something? Any ideas?
Apart from this, Pitbull is the best frame addon i've seen so far, keep the good work up!
Edit:
Okay, I've done some research on this and so far it seems that Pitbull MT frames will NOT listen to whats being broadcasted in raids and you have to set them yourself manually.. ?! is this correct? Im referring to this quote amongst others;
"mt frames = pitbull
just set some maintank targets with the default ui."
This is all the information I could gather from doing a search on pitbull+MT frames.
So, do I have to set the MT's manually every raid or is there a simpler way?

I just use Ora2 to set MT frames when we raid and my pitbull frames works perfectly. Not sure about the default way of setting them though cause I don't think I ever tried that

Arrite, I'll look into that, will Ora2 recognize MT's being broadcast and then send this info on to Pitbull who will display the list then?

If you set the MT's with Ora2 then yes it works like that. If you use the standard raid UI to set the tanks, then i'm not sure. I'll check when we raid tomorrow.

I asked around and our raidleaders use Ora2 to set maintanks. I downloaded Ora2 and now I've got my Pitbull MT and MTToT lists showing perfectly, thanks.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get Pitbull to track "your buffs/debuffs" (on target) the same way x-Perl does?
x-Perl shows bigger icons on your target frame (icons like frostbolts/ignite/poisons/mortal strike etc).
I've been fooling around with Pitbull without any luck. And I really don't want to swap to x-Perl "just because of this"..

So Ora2 broadcasts the MTs to PitBull? Well, not for me. Our raidleaders use Ora2 to assign MTs (and they are too lazy to keep in mind assigning MTs via "/mt"), but I don't want to install it because of memory usage, I'd like to stay with PitBull. Since I'm a rogue and I usually don't have an "A" in raids I cannot assign MTs via "/mt" in addition to Ora2.
Is there any possibility to rewrite some PitBull code to make PitBull display Ora2's MTs? Would love to see it!

Try to remember that ora2 isn't just for your pleasure. Raid leaders and other guildies use it for maintanks, reagent checks, item checks, resistance checks. cooldown monitoring, rez monitoring, latency checks, durability checks, etc. It doesn't even take up memory until you are in a raid, and even then, then impact is very minimal. I would recommend installing it just for the features available to your fellow raiders and raid leaders. At the very least, you could just disable the ora2 main tank display and still use your pitbull main tank boxes with ora2 just running in the background for that vital information.

Yeah, I think I consider reinstalling it after some memory usage tests (again, because my last test revealed a 3-4 fps increase without Ora2 - in raid environment), and I really dislike background-stalker-addons/programs such as BigBrother. It may be useful for our raidleaders, but we do no durability checks (everyone who needs to repair can go) and there are no latency problems, buff/reagent/item checks are upon the respective players (which are the intrinsic reasons why I not use Ora2).
Do you think there's a way to manipulate PitBull to display Ora2 MTs? Such as supervising hidden Ora2 Addon Channels?
Thank you, anyway.

Having a problem with Pitbull - my castbars aren't displaying consistent text. Most importantly, my target's cast bar doesn't show any text or cast duration for one of my characters, only the icon. Fiddled a bit, and had no luck. Has anyone found out how to resolve this yet? It's rather important

I use Quartz's target cast bar for my setup and it seemed to work fine for me tonight, never tried using the Pitbull cast bar. Might work as a temporary solution.

Off the top of my head, you probably disabled the Cast and Spell texts... (hint, they are options under "Text", not "Bars").

I already set borders to "none", as you can/should see from my screenshot.
Vaff: the point of having 0 vertical spacing is to not have the mouse accidentally mouseover a world unit. The reason for that again is because my CowTip and Pitbull seem to disagree with eachother a bit. I don't want tooltips for my pitbull-frames while in combat, but I still want them for world units. If, in that vertical spacing I accidentally mouseover a world unit, suddenly the pitbull-tooltips start showing again - until I forcefully 'clear' it my not having the mouse over anything. It gets really frickin annoying at times.
Zoom in on my screenshot: it sure looks like the "offline" healthbar overlaps the manabar somewhat. Doesn't it?

I'm having the same problem, and no, I did not disable the text. The problem persists when using both custom and standard formats for the cast spellname and time.

I was having this problem as well, then I update again and it got even worse. This time pretty much no text was showing up at all. If you use WAU, a guildie recommended reinstalling all addons (File > Reinstall All Addons). I haven't played too much since then but it looks like it did the trick for me.

If you look at the Pitbull thread on wowace, CK has changed the dogtags in the release coinciding with 2.4. Cast-time and cast spell name dogtags seem to be broken for "Target" at present. There's also an odd bug with status on the "Player" unit at present that keeps flagging you offline.

Not sure if this has been addressed yet, but any custom tags in text lines that use the [Outline] tag seem to no longer work.
-edit: this issue has already been posted the [Dogtag] thread but i'll leave the comment here anyway for visibility in case people have the same problem/need to know what to fix.

I have a question about PitBull.
I run Photek's X7 UI (It's on curse.com, I can't link there right now because the site is down) and replaced ag_Unitframes with Pitbull because I had experience using them. I like having a nice looking UI but I am not well versed in how various UI's work so I tend to look for compilations that have already been set up to be playable from the get-go. However, immediately after patch 2.3 and now again after patch 2.4 I have run into serious problems and I believe it may be related to pitbull. It is entirely possible that it's another mod I have that is interfering, but I think that's unlikely seeing as I fixed the problem in 2.3 by only replacing pitbull with a new version.
Symptoms:
-can target other players, but all spells will be cast on myself regardless of target I have selected
-can't move items (from bag to bag, from or to a mailbox, etc)
-cannot access /pitbull, I get an error.
It seems random and occurs when zoning into an instance, battleground or just the world for the first time. It doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened twice now in arena and I can't justify even queueing until I figure this out.
When it happened in 2.3, I replaced pitbull with the newest available version on files.wowace.com. It had some other issues (something about a threat meter) but I was able to fix it. When I tried that yesterday, it did not fix the problem and I was still unable to access the pitbull menu.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. I like pitbull and I don't want to go back to ag_UF or try to learn something new, but if I can't figure this out I'm going to have to trash the whole thing because losing arena games because I literally cannot cast heals is pretty hard to deal with.
