Thanks for the suggestion Supplicium, but the large part of the problem isn't in our target frame - it's in our raid frames. Take Patchwerk for instance. We're healing three tanks, so we're watching our raid frames or our MT windows so that we can monitor the hot durations on three different targets at once. We could watch another hot timer addon like Hotcandy or Lifebloomer, but we still need to look at our unit frames so that we can select the tank we'll be hotting next. This was easy before 3.0 came out, because our Pitbull raid frames by default could differentiate between our buffs and those from other druids, so it would only show ours.
However, it must be possible to modify Pitbull to show only our buffs even in our raid frames. I say this because Pitbull's Lifebloom Bar module only shows our own Lifebloom. I cannot figure out how to apply this to auras in general or I'd just do it myself.
I've been having an issue with certain vehicle commands.
The Thrusting the Spear daily quest for Sons of Hodir and also some of the siege weaponry on Wintergrasp will show all the appropriate buttons but hitting them will do nothing. Everything works fine when I disable Pitbull and I know a couple of guildies have been reporting the same issue.
I've been having this problem as well, though not just with Pitbull. I first noticed the problem with Pitbull, so I switched back over to AGUF, and that worked fine for a little while. Then, all of a sudden, I started having the same problem with AGUF. So now I'm back to just using the standard (and lame) Blizz unit frames. As far as I can tell, only vehicle controls got messed up when using the addons, and both times, turning off the unit frames addons returned full functionality for my vehicle commands. Has anyone else noticed this, either with Pitbull or any other unit frame addon?
Pitbull doesn't seem to recognize the difference between your hots and some one else in your raid.
Make a custom buff bar using satrina buff frames and make it show only your castable buffs on your taraget that works for me with my dots, should work for your hots.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I use Clique casting on unit frames, so for HoT rotations, I need something on the unit frame I'm 'clique'ing without selecting an actual target.
I've seen on several screenshots people who have split their portrait from the Pitbull frame, how do I do that? If thats not possible do anyone here have solution for that, another addon to just move the portrait for example.
In addition to this, I'd like to be able to highlight the raid frame (ala the debuff mechanism) for buffs that I've cast.
Riptide for shaman, Rejuv/LB for druids all leap to mind as spells that you want to know what is on the target so you can Cheal or Swiftmend them.
I realise that this is a very late reply, but I hope I won't get an infraction for this.
What you blame Pitbull for may not be Pitbull's fault at all. Once I found myself unable to modify sizes of unit frames. I could do everything else, but that. I disabled all other addons. Boom, I can resize again! After the strenuous job of enabling one mod at a time I found out that it was Prat that conflicted with Pitbull somehow. Now I use Chatter and Pitbull listens to me.
Is there a frequented thread or repository anywhere of interesting PitBull layouts anymore? I did some googling and searching without much luck, but am interested in cleaning up my PitBull and seeing how folks are doing some basic things (like putting a border around a unit frame that is colored by class, as opposed to coloring the background of the health bar by class, and more).
I've been having this bug for a while with Pitbull and was wondering if anyone knew of any solutions to it. What happens is sometimes when I deselect a target, the textures from the power/health bars stays on the location where the target frame was, only very faded. If I select someone else I still have the previous, faded bars on top, making it harder to see text and changes to health and power. Found that reloading the UI solves it, but as it seems to happen just about anywhere reloading is not always an option.
Any help with this?

I just had my UI crash on itself and went back to re-config pitbull. I managed to get it back to basically what I had it at before but then I went to a raid and noticed that no matter what raid sorting I selected, I could not get Death Knights to show up in the raid frames (everyone else showed like normal but DKs did not). The second problem was that before the pull when I selected another raid member their buffs showed up like normal but after we finished the fight I selected several raid members and their temp buffs (blessings, fort etc) would not show up with their aura buffs (TSA, aspects, LotP).
Is there a way to modify the DK runes at all in pitbull yet? I'd love to be able to make them larger at least, if not move them around, but I couldn't find anything in the pitbull config menus that was for the DK runes. I haven't had a chance to dig thru the lua yet to see if there are values in there that can be hacked, but I was hoping for a way to do it thru the GUI really. If there's not a way to do this now, is this something that might get added in later as an extra module/bar/etc?
Has anyone found a solution to this yet? My guild has 2 druid healers, and I find myself refreshing HoT's that don't belong to me, constantly wasting mana.
Well the current caretaker of pitbull has stated that this feature will be in the next iteration of pitbull for about a month now, so I've pretty much given up hope for the time being. I basically just make do with HoT timers now, filtered to only show Regrowth and Rejuv, as I can see lifebloom with the lifebloom bar module. I really wish Shefki would put this feature in soon though.

Make sure you have fully updated your Pitbull. TBH, I don't recall which version I'm using (from Curse or Wowace, I think I'm using the one from curse, but no guarantees), but one of them has this error very frequently. The other still has it happen, but rarely (so it isn't much of a problem).
As to showing Debuffs/Buffs on targets, I found a workaround for my DK (for debuffs, unsure as to how well this will work with buffs) using Quartz and Power Auras. I have a feeling Power Auras would be your best bet for this, but again, no guarantees (you could probably set it up to show an icon for each specific tank [by name], but that might be more work than you had planned. Although, you are given plenty of room for lots of auras, so you can make a bunch and enable/disable quickly based on your raid comp).
The strange fake/incomplete frames that appear in pitbull and stay there, for me, happen when someone joins a party or raid that I'm in, while I'm in combat.
Reloading the UI always fixes it, which I do with "/rl" as thats the shortest way I know.
Its the client, not pitbull. With pitbull not loaded at all, frames still do odd things in a party when combat state and uh user traffic are combined. I finally saw this for myself recently when I was running around with a mostly default UI after switching to my roommates desktop when my laptop fucked itself with a football bat.

An error does pop up whenever that happens. Also, another symptom of the error is sometimes recently added party member frame gets put on top of, or underneath of another frame.
Has anyone every seen Pitbull get stuck in a state where when you bring up the config window the only options that you have are to set one of the configuration modes? I had that happen during an eye of eternity raid last night when I needed to make a small change.
Yes it is a problem when you are A) in a raid, B) in in instance, C) have a lot of specific dogtags. if any or all of these are true you could have issues.

I've seen this too and for me it always happens when i'm playing battlegrounds. Your theory on people joining while i'm in combat makes sense as i'm nearly always in combat in BGs and people AFK out/join late/switch BG etc.
I've had another problem as well with the party frames: Occaisionally they just won't update at all when someone joins the party. For example, someone will invite me so we're the only two people in the party, but then the next three people he invites will never show up in the frames. Last time it happened i tried a /reloadui and the frames came back, but the default bliz party frames also appeared underneath them. It only fixed itself after a relog. It hasn't happened enough for me to pinpoint the cause, but i could well have been in combat when joining the party like the error with the ghost frames.

The two things I have found that delay / bug out party frames are: Being in combat (which was covered) and the Questhelper Mod loading. Often times I will swap characters and get in invite as soon a I log in, see "Questhelper is loading..." and I see no other party memebers or maybe some of them. Once it is done loading, everything refreshes. If you are running Questhelper, you may want to try turning if off and see if the problem goes away.
If this signature offends you please complain to the management.

There are so many issues related to questhelper that I cannot see how these frustrations could possibly culminate in faster leveling times.
Another issue that I found the other day, which is extremely frustrating. Normally I do not run Party Pets or any pets at all except for my pet. When doing Oculus, this does not fly, so I enable it temporarily. Adjusting the size of the party pet frame also affects the size of the party frame, and disabling the Party Pets module removes the Party frame as well. There is a temporary solution: Enable the one you want to modify, disable the other. Make your modifications. Disable the current one. Enable Party. Enable Party Pets. When you disable Party Pets, you have to disable Party and re-enable it again to see pets again.

Well i've never used Questhelper so that rules that one out. Cartographer and mobmap have always served me well for a bit of quest help. The in-combat bugging does make sense though, i'm sure most of the time mine's messed up has been while i'm killing mobs while organising a group through /1 or lfg. I'll just have to try to remember to make groups while in towns or somewhere safe. Good to know what caused it at least.
I am having an issue with mouseover macros, that I am not sure if it is Pitbull or something else.
Here is the issue.
I created a mouseover macro where i can cast a spell normally on a target, but if i press a modifier, it will cast that spell on mouseover. Here is the macro:
This mouseover works perfectly. I can cast it when my mouse is physically over a person, AND most importantly when my mouse is over the raidunit frame. My problem? is that SOME spells don't like the macro.
Will work when the mouse is physically over the person, but will do NOTHING if i use the modifier and the mouse is over the unit frame. What is even odder is that some spells need different modifiers. PWS and Flash Heal work without any problems and doesn't matter what the modifiers are, (ctrl/alt, etc). Greater Heal and Penance need the modifier to be alt, and will not work if it is ctrl. Abolish Disease, and Dispel Magic will only work on mouseovers of actual characters and not raid frames regardless of the modifier.
Is this Pitbull? Or is there something about these spells that i am not getting.

First off, for the love of God, a new line does not have to follow immediately after a period. It sucks to read, looks like shit, and makes no sense whatsoever.
Secondly, no, that does not sound like pitbull. Easy test: Disable all addons. Join group w/ random person. Test macros. If the problems you are describing don't occur, it is an addon. Enable addons one by one until you do find the problematic addon. If the problem still occurs w/ no addons, you dicked up your macros or you keybindings.
