I am looking to host the webstats on my guilds webpage, but I think the HTML reports that are generated by the client are lame compaired to the WWS site. Is there anything out there that gives the details that WWS gives and can be hosted up on a site. The performance of WWS is horrid and I would also like to keep more then a couple weeks worth of data without paying for a WWS account when I already pay my hosting company for our site. Thanks for your help!

I'm sorry if this has allready been covered, but is PoM tracking in WWS an issue that can be dealt with? My guild isn't quite convinced with the reports I've been doing so far, so I'll try to get some more people to help me log in the future.

I compared todays raid (yes, 4 hours wiping on Azgalor, don't ask) with recount, and I saw all the priests moving from the top of the healing meter (recount) to spread around the first 8 places (wws). This seems to be due to PoM tracking as our tanks are pretty high on the healing meter. I guess you can still see how many times the different healers applied PoM, wich is an important piece of information still.

Hi.

First post here on the EJ forums even though I frequent these forums every day.

I just set up WWS for my guild so we can start tracking our dps/healing while we prepare for sunwell. I have a healer/ranged dps/melee dps/tank(myself) tracking logs of our raids.

I input our first raid last night but when I went to look at our info, it seemed that we had members missing from the raids. I was out for the first part of Hyjal but went in at Archimonde so my log was tracking from there on.

Link to last nights raid WWS:

Wow Web Stats

While the overall data shows 28 people in the raid, every boss fight shows at least 2 people missing from the fights.

I have my logs set up to track at 200 yds, as do the other members of the raid.

My questions are mainly about merging the logs they send me and the actors panel.

1) When merging, what settings should I have selected in both my configuration panel and logs panel?

2) When should I do an auto - update for actors? should I clear the list for every parse? Or can I simply leave it up after the initial log?

3)Do I have to delete my combatlogs after every raid?

Im still rather noob to this client but most of it seems straight forward. I have my members set up sending me their logs through the client through the Mail SMTP.

I appreciate all help in the matter. I will be taking another log tonight so hopefully my graphs will look a bit better this time round.

It looks like some of your raid members are getting listed as mobs. For example: Phuc showed up as a mob (Phuc - WWS). Make sure that everyone has the correct association when you do your actors. There are a lot to do the first time through (especially with all the Hyjal NPCs), but once you do it you don't have to re-do it each time you upload a log. The WWS client will automatically archive all your combat logs after you upload them, so you don't have to manually clear them out each time.

I usually roll my logs to a guildie who does the actual merging, so I don't have much first hand experience with managing the merges. I hope this helps though.

One question that I have not been able to find the answer to is how to get the group compositions to display below the main charts. I have seen it on Abananax's WWS reports (e.g., Abananax's quite speedy Terron Gorefiend kill ) and I assume it is some manual addition the person posting the logs makes, but I can't find the answer anywhere. If this has been asked earlier in this thread, I apologize, but I have not seen it.

That report was made with the v2 beta client. See: Wow Web Stats • View topic - WWS Client v2 beta test, starting now

I was trying to do some WWS on a Kara run, but in the course of the run I switched to an alt for a bit. When I try to do the WWS client with two files for the two different characters it says it can't merge the two because no common events found between logs.

Any way to get around this if I was the only one doing a combat log that Kara? Or do I need to do 2 different WWS reports for the run?

Yah you can't merge those logs, that's not what a merge does. Merging lets you fill in the gaps in data by taking two "views" of one fight and combining the data. You'll need to submit them as 2 separate logs, just label them as KZ 1st Half, 2nd Half or something like that.

That's what I was afraid of. Though it would be like Kara parts 1 and 3, and then Kara part 2. Ah well.

Is there any way to merge multiple reports together after they have been uploaded to WWS? What I am trying to do is have multiple people be able to upload WWS reports for the same fights and then merge them together without having to have people send me their log files to do this. We are all using Client v2.0 beta2c and I know there is an option to include other reports when you are uploading yours but I'd rather not have to get everyones reports emailed to me prior to having to upload them all.

No, but this is a feature everyone wants and the developer of WWS has been talking about. it's low on his priority right now, the biggest thing he's working on is getting WWS working for when 2.4 is released with the new combat formating/system. Right now the only way to merge reports is in the client as you generate them for upload, eventually I assume it will be possible to upload a report and have another guildy merge to that report online, this is months away though.

Just kick your guildies in the butt and get them to clean their logs and email them to you after each raid... you put forth the effort in the first place so tell them you'll stop uploading reports unless they help make them more accurate.

I recently got a new computer, and unfortunatly it has vista (boo!). Now I'm not sure if it is vista or not, but for some reason WoW won't generate a combat log file anymore.

Not sure why.

Anyone else have this problem, or an idea of what to do?

WoW under Vista puts the combat log in your User folder

C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Logs

Interesting.

My path (Vista Ultimate 64 bit on the home box) is "\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Logs". Perhaps there is a preferences difference of course.

I managed to get it to log to the proper World of Warcraft\Logs directory by creating an empty WoWCombatLog.txt there manually. It's still a pain because you can't just delete the file to start over. I've not seen if running WoW as Administrator makes a difference, but it might do.

It will.

( Initate Technical Stuff)

Non-Administrator Accounts have to meet certain requirements to write to the Program Files directory. If you DON'T meet those requirements, Vista sets up something kind of like a Symbolic Link to the file in Program Files, and stores the file in the C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\<whatever> directory.

This leads to some odd problems with certain programs, as asking for a directory listing of the main \Program Files\<whatever> doesn't list symbolic links, so if a program tries to save their savegames into there, and they get bumped into the VirtualStore, then when it tries to get a list of the games, it gets an empty directory. If it asks for a specfific file name, it gets the right file; this is why the WoW Log works at all.

My guild took a week off from raiding when 2.4 dropped to farm badges and we just started back into The Eye last night. When I went to upload our logs, there were only fields in the new client for WWS username, password and 1 log file. I'm assuming that log merging isn't functional in the current version?

Also, is it still required to set the combat log range to max?

You're right, merging logs isn't implemented in the current wws-client, but it's definitely planned You don't have to set anything for your combatlog, as far as I understand, everything you can see is logged (although I'm not sure in how far setting your max-range in the graphics options has an influence).

(e) Comparing two logs from yesterdays Hyjal-Run, one from me and one from a melee, there's zero difference in the results, and there's quite some space in Hyjal for a mage and a melee to stand apart. Maybe merging logs won't even be neccessary anymore.

One of the primary reason for merging logs was not due to distance differentials (that was identified long ago with easy fixes implemented) but because Blizz sometimes "throttled" your combat log so that it doesn't show everything that has occured within your max range (it would show you but not everyone else). But I'm not sure if the new combatlog has changed that. Because there have been a lot of complaints of lag/FPS issues due to lots of information hitting the combatlog on zoning which makes me think they are no longer "throttling".

I've got a real simple question. I have done several boss fights and attempted to load up my comabatlog.txt file and it tells me the "you can not load over 12 hours" so i say "okay" and go and search out the file to edit it. The problem is, i can browse for the file in the WWSClient but can not locate it on my C: D: E: or F: Hdd's. It's no were to be found.

I have even used addons like Loggerhead and the addon provided by the Admin's on the site and still no results. Anyone else ever experence this?

So, I was about to post this on the WWS forums, but seeing as thay've disabled account registration...

I wanted to check up on healer performance (which I don't usually check out that much, playing a DPS class), and noticed there seems to be a big problem with HoT tracking.

Specifically, most of the ticks are nowhere to be found. The situation is the same both pre-2.4 and post-2.4.

Take a look at this example from an old BT log:

Wow Web Stats

As you see, it shows many, many 1-tick Renews. I suppose other Renews do not show at all. It can't be that heals that are 100% overheal do not show up, or else VE would be a lot less spammy in the logs. Given this bug, how can I evaluate HoT uptime, and especially Tree Druid healing performance? I'm getting absurd things like 65% Lifebloom uptime and 30% Rejuv/Regrowth uptime, which cannot be true unless all tree druids really suck (and I checked on out-of-guild logs too, so it's not just our trees).

Did I miss something ? Does anyone have some workarounds? Was it already a known bug (although I couldn't find anything on the subject in the WWS forums) ?

Well... you can have an addon on every player that tracks all their hots and time they stay up and communicate that to each other so you could track it. But requires an addon on every player who can cast HOTs and no addon currently does this.

I need to do something useless.
