That one, special mod 2.0
A thread that needs to be back. "Post your UI" is okay, but I want a place to look for discussion of interesting things that I should download. Maybe avoid the totally obvious staple mods (ItemRack, SCT, ECB, KTM, etc).
I'll start with Debuff Filter:
http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downl...debuff-filter/
I've been using this for a long time, and recently seen it talked about a bit more here. Give it to your raiders (especially DPS classes) to make it easy for them to know when any important debuff goes down.

Hmm, I don't think it's right if I use your suggestion without giving one of my own, so here goes.
Passing through the Post your UI 2.0 thread, I see countless people with simpleCombatLog, which, as awesome as it is, is still to text-related for me. During the heat of combat, I will say that I rarely take my eyes of the countless things I need to be monitoring as an Assist. However, that doesn't mean I don't want a Combat Log. Therefore, I use Eavesdrop, a more picture-oriented Combat Log (hotness for DoTs, by the way, since I hate spam). It's simple, easy to understand, and works right out of the box, so there is (in my case) nothing to dislike.

I can't live without a slice and dice timer. It bugged one gruul fight and I was completely worthless. If thats too staple (I don't know a rogue without one) then Sanity inventory yet. I love being able to search through my inventory with ease.

Dynrepbar - ace2 mod.
Unfortunately I discovered this mod about 2 weeks too late as I've been exalted with pretty much everyone for a month or so now, but it's amazing for when you've just hit 70 and decide you want to get rep with factions. It automatically sets your rep tracking bar to the faction you last gained rep with. Works with both FuXPFu (which is what I use it with) and the blizzard thing - probably anything that uses the blizzard default tracker will work.

I have used Reputation Monitor forever. For me it has always been the best rep tracking mod. Even after it wasn't updated for months i kept updating the toc file. Sadly it died when 2.0 came out, but fortunately someone has taken it over and updated it here.

Geist.
Bind one button to it (in my case Y). When you press and hold that button a block of 25 buttons appears under your mouse. When you release your bind button it disappears.
Its amazing for removing those not-so-often used abilities/consumables from your main display like food/water, summoning pets/healthstones, creating mana gems etc that you really don't need displayed all the time.

I've recently taken a liking to UnitActionBars myself, while the designer seems to have intended it as an alternative to click-casting, I've changed it so that it's perfect for doing 5 minute blessings.
It's very nice to have when you have to individually overwrite some buffs on the varying hybrid classes from time to time. I just right-click them, select the proper buff in the little menu that pops up, and voila.

Agreed, Geist is a very useful mod. I still think Sprocket (which it replaced for me) was a better implementation of the appear-at-mouse-location-buttons concept, but Geist is somewhat more flexible. Oh, and that it still works is good too. :-D
The one special mod that I'll never be able to play the game without though, will probably always be Bagnon. It's the best all-in-one bag mod I've used, and after about 2 years with using such a mod, I can't really imagine going back to default bags.

Honestly I've always thought all in one bag mods to be a mess. They just seem like the equivalent of cleaning your room by shoving everything in the closet.
I'm looking for an evangelist to convert me though. Give it your best shot!

Mr. Plow will organize your one in all bag for you. It makes things even better, i suggest that hand in hand with one bag.

I don't have a picture handy, but the main draw for me is how much more efficient a all-in-one bag mod is in terms of screen space than seperate bags. And while you can organize things pretty well with the default 5 seperate bags, there are times when you don't have enough slots in one bag for one category of items, or too many. With an all-in-one mod, you can group them however you want. On my characters, gear/mounts/class reagents are at the bottom, then above them are the consumables, then above that are the quest items, and the rest of the junk that I have no real need to keep are at the top. With it set up like that, I can always find what I'm looking for easily.
Oh, and Bagnon/Banknon's ability to let you see the contents of your other characters' bags/bank is very useful as well.

That takes up at the very least 30% more space on the screen than if I used Bagnon. Yes, it's more obviously clear on which categories are which, but that's not strictly necessary for me.

Hopefully Gello will add back in the vBagnon categories feature; other than that, Bagnon has had my onebag dollar for a long time. I just organize the bag by "areas" - the bottom half of the bag is gear, left edge gets consumables, right edge holds reagents, and the area in the center of the U gets everything temporary.
Debuff Filter is also a great mod that's only going to be getting better.
Since I've been leveling lately, LightHeaded has been quite useful (WowHead comments in your questlog are nice, much less alt-tabbing).
Eavesdrop is great, PitBull is coming along *very* nicely, but the three mods I find it hardest to play without?
Bongos for actionbars.
IceHUD for HUD/player/target frames.
NECB for timerbars/castbars. This one will, incidentally, probably be falling by the wayside with 2.1's "show only own debuffs, and time remaining" feature.

Melador> Incidentally, these last few pages are why people hate lawyers.
Viator> I really don't want to go all Kalman here.
Bury> Just imagine what the world would be like if you used your powers for good.
Clearly law school has done wonders for me.

Exactly the same here. I just reinstalled NECB for the first time in many months, solely for Imp. Scorch and Polymorph. Will probably be just fine with the new 2.1 UI (or more likely, with some addon based on the new API).

Everyone mentioned almost all of my favorites already (debuff filter, geist standing out in the crowd. for bag mods also check out baggins which I've liked.)
Sanity Inventory has been great for tracking inventory across my mules (it's not a bag/bank mod, it's just a marvelously searchable list of what you have where.)
Pawn has caught my fancy lately, because it saves tedious calculations for dps-gains from various gear pieces. It's not earthshaking since technically you can do the analysis ahead of time, but I never remember.
That and Sorren's Timers, which shows me a bar for the global cooldown (I don't use it for anything else), since I don't have many spell buttons actually visible on my screen, and as a lock I run afoul of the global cooldown a lot.

One of the oldest mods I've used, I think there are better and newer ones out there but I've grown so used to it over the years, also very small, can't remember what I did to make it work in current day WoW, may have been a simple ## Interface: 20000 edit
AGGRO - http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1519
Not really a great mod but still special

I can't believe this thread has gone on for so long without anyone mentioning ItemRack. Unfortunately the version I was using stopped working about a week ago when I updated a bunch of ACE mods, but if I disable everything else it works fine (so for now I'm blaming myself for the errors).
This has been a staple mod of mine since the MC days. I've always had various resist sets macroed, as well as sets for soloing, pvp, and stuff. Its the kind of mod that anyone who switches entire sets of gear on a somewhat consistant basis can really get a lot of use out of, and I know it was on the first "special mod" thread.
And what do you know... looking for a link it seems there a new beta version to try out!

I think the OP said mods that were special "gems". Itemrack is a given, according to the OP. I still use the now defunct Outfitter.
My list of mods:
EavesDrop - simple, easy to read combat log parser like simplecombatlog with MUCH less text to sift through
RatingBuster - converts those spell crit ratings to percentages that us humans can understand =)
MainAssist - better than the ctra assist windows. Rivals the oRA2 windows but the main difference is this can show you how many people are assisting the MA as well as making NPCs a main assist (the general rajaxx event NPCs in AQ20 for example)
Informant - packaged with Auctioneer (or downloadable separately), it shows you vendor prices for items as well as how high items stack
That's about all the non-mainstream mods I use (besides the class specific ones).

Pitbull was mentioned before, I love all the new features that cknight keeps adding to it and allows me to remove other addons (like a cast bar add-on and mobhealth).
The mod I will list is Aloft, it modifies the nameplates over baddies and shows the spell being casted rather than just the fact a spell is being cast (helps to remind me to cast Curse of Tongues on them).

I've been liking Baggins as a bag mod. It's not super-efficient on screen space, but it auto-organizes your stuff into sections - quest items, potions, gear, vendor trash, etc. I would go nuts with the all in one bag addons without something to direct me to where to start looking for something.
Afraid I don't have much to add to this thread - most of what I use is pretty standard. Clique and BanzaiAlert are probably the ones that have the most impact on my actual playing; the rest are just ways of saving screen space or making things more aesthetically pleasing.
I just checked out Geist and I love it, so thanks to whoever mentioned it
