Reason being, whenever you do any of these things during a fight you are actually out of combat for a split second. I assume this is how hunters drink after coming out of Feign Death but the problem for me is that half of the time I'm just not fast enough mashing my drink/eat buttons the moment I come to life again so I end up in combat.

I think there is a macro command for using Soulstones at least, so you might be able to make a 1-button macro that you would just mash when you're dead and it should bring you back to life and immediately drink and eat. I can't find any way to use Reincarnation in a macro however, so would it be possible to have a addon do this for you if it's not supported via macros?

I'm not a script genius but I do know accept a rez is /script AcceptResurrect()

As I was leveling a warlock alt a few days ago, I noticed that, if I sent my pet into combat (pulsing me into combat as well) while I was eating/drinking, I would no longer benefit from the health/mana regens buffs("Eating", "Drinking", etc). They didn't disappear, but seemed ineffectual.

This lead me to believe that what you're trying to do is impossible.

I suppose it would be just as useful if you could mash your resurrection spell, and get a resurrection cast off before you were pulsed into combat. Does entering combat cancel an out-of-combat-only spell?

Getting into combat will stop the health-gain from eating. Mana from drinking on the other hand is unaffected and works in combat too.

If you get resurrected, target a dead player, accept the res and immediately start casting the spell, it will get interrupted the moment you enter combat again unfortunately.

Mana regen is fine. Also, % heal food should still work. I used them all the time on bossfights, since I knew I wouldn't get heals and it was cheaper than potting and didn't have a horrible cd like bandaging. So save the holiday foods etc. for this.

It should, yeah. Even using jumper cables in combat now is extremely difficult. It usually takes 2-3 FDs on a fast cast to get one off. An addon that could track combat pulses would be incredibly useful for hunters with jumper cables.

It's a side-effect of how the food is implemented - it works by boosting your natural (spirit-based) regen ticks. Since you still get mana regen while in-combat, the drinking works, while eating doesn't as health regen is disabled completely in-combat (which makes me wonder whether trolls can eat at 10% effectiveness in-combat...)
