If you have your hotbars showing it will turn to a question mark until you have 10seconds to reset it. Ofcourse you can change the time to give as much warning as you feel you need.
|
Does that reset if you change targers? For example on Fathomlord or High King?

Has anyone found this addon yet? I have done a healthy search for one and still have been unable to come across one.

Any luck on finding something like this yet? The more I think about how awesome something like this would be, the more I want one!

Hey guys,
I am very pleased to say that I have convinced a guildie of mine to look into this and he has succeeded! (Almost, I'll explain). His mod basically changes the tooltip of hunter's mark to reflect the change in attack power after every shot on the target with a hunter's mark on it. It also has a counter on the default hunter's mark buff icon to reflect the number of charges.
The only drawback at the moment is with the counters - they work fine, but they won't update unless you either a) de-select and re-select the mob or b) apply an ability that forces the ui to recognise buff counts/durations e.g. a sting, conc shot or a wing clip - in other words forcing the aura modules to refresh. I'm trying to give him some motivation to try to fix it, he says he's not sure how to make the aura event fire to tell it to constantly update.
My question is - would there be many people who would be interested in this mod? I tried tempting him with fame amongst the hunter community, but given our rep, I'm not sure what that's worth :P
edit: here's a pic from in game

Ael, many hunters would be glad to test that mod out and I'm sure some would even be willing to give suggestions on how to make the proper fixes.

Just an update, still testing it and working out the kinks. Tested it during our SSC raid last night and with all the debuffs being thrown up on bosses, issues with aura refreshing isn't so much of a problem - also, the mod's creator forgot to specify what type of damage to look out for since melee damage was triggering the buff stacks lol. It's just solo grinding at the moment where it's not quite gelling. Still to test:
- 5 mans
- Getting other hunters in my guild to use it during raids to test how the mod reacts to other people's marks.
It's not my mod to hand out, but I will encourage my guildie to publish it and I will definitely make it and him known when it's ready for general use.

This addon would surely be helpful. As a side note I have two questions on the subject: if I renew my own mark, does it keep it's stacks? And if I renew another hunter's mark?
I'm also looking for a way, or an addon, to prioritize a pet skill. For instance to be sure that my pet is using Bite as soon as it's up instead of just spamming Claws.

Gief! This specific add-on has been eagerly sought after for a long time now but for some reason the hunter community hasn't been able to come up with it. I'll happily volunteer for beta duty as well.

Hey guys,
Got a link for all of you. Post here if you find any bugs or have any suggestions on how to make it better. I'm guessing with the new combat log changes next patch this will need an overhaul anyways, but here it is for all to enjoy.
Author: Sorata, druid from my guild, Sadistic on Zenedar - many many thanks, and I'm sure he's browsing these forums too, but is too shy to post :P

Thanks for the addon. I found a bug I guess: I tried it out solo on Dr Boom tonight. After applying HM to Boom and started shooting, the tool tip value crept up until I hit 440 AP. When I however reapplied HM with about 30 sec. left of the old one, it reset to 110 AP, and stayed at that value.
I use Pitbull. I'm not sure if that can play a role.

I use pitbull myself. I'll test this out tonite and forward it on to the author. Could it not be that since the mark was self cast that you can over-write your own marks and start out at zero stacks again? Try it without the mod and I'm pretty sure you can renew your own mark once it's started stacking - I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply when trying to cast you own mark on another hunter's mark and you get the whole "A more powerful spell is already active" message.

Hi, i'm the Author.
I beleive this is how it works, when you reapply a buff/debuff the game 1st removes the old one then applies the new one (Get a priest to buff you with Power Word: Fortitude, heal you to full health and then rebuff you, it will show the old buff being removed and the new buff being applied in your combat log as well as the fact that you loose health).
P.S. I have made a new version to work with 2.4 and it should be 100% accurate and be able to tell mobs of the same name appart. Unfortunatly I am unable to test it properly because the EU character copy is still saying "Full" and has been for the last 3 days.

Leveled a Hunter to 6 on the PTR so I could properly test and debug the new version and after abit of work, I got it working. I was able to simplify the mod and remove all but 1 of the librarys without increasing the size of the actual code as well as removing most of the need for localisation (which means it should work with all clients now). It is also as accurate as it can be and as long as your combat log sees it and is able to tell the difference between mobs with the same name.
I do, however, have 2 problems at the moment. - I'm not sure how I should go about updating the buff count
- Currently the mod checks for the event "RANGE_DAMAGE" to increase the counter, but Arcane Shot fires the "SPELL_DAMAGE" event, do other shots (like Steady Shot) fire the "SPELL_DAMAGE" event, and if not, would Arcane Shot count as "Ranged Damage"?
Here is the link if you want to try it out.

I worked out a way to fake a blizzard event and it should work with any addon that registers the "UNIT_AURA" event.
I do how ever still have a problem. What abilities should increase the RAP of Hunter's Mark? Arcane Shot, Multi-Shot, Steady Shot, Silencing Shot and Aimed Shot should but should Hunter Stings, Concussive Shot, Distracting Shot etc increase it as well?

PTR version seemed to be working great last night on the PTR, used it on trash and bosses. Worked with my mark, as well as other hunters marks.

This sounds like an awesome add-on, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible w/ XPerl Unitframes yet.

I've got a new version that should be abit faster and has completely removed the need for localisation and removed all librarys as well as removing a few possible bugs. Just need to test it.

Finished testing and I would consider it finished and bug free! Just need to wait for 2.4 to come out.

This is not true, for Hunter's Mark at least. Refreshing Hunter's Mark will keep the stacks. This is easily proven with a Fine Light Crossbow on Dr. Boom, building some HM stacks, then refreshing HM. Your damage will not go down after refreshing it.

Well in 2.4 the mod isn't resetting the stacks if you refresh the buff because the event for the remove/add buff isn't sent when refreshing it
