Whats your Shot Rotation?!
|
Post your WoW 2.2 Interface
I'd like to see what people are doing differently, (if at all), in 2.1. Patches as you know can mess with people's UI's like nothing else especially if you're not an ACE2 fanatic like myself. Try to post what mods you use if at all possible to avoid tons of people asking.
Yes, I am a Huntard. I know my UI is moot as a DPS class compared to the needs of a healer who should use GRID, (absolutely badass mod btw), and lots of raid frames, (which I'll have up if needed). My Fubar is at the top but fades out, (only appears on mouseover). SWStats appears on my lower left corner just to the right of chat text when in raids and KTM appears on the far right next to combat text so I have as much visible game screen as possible.
Monitor used: Samsung 22" 226BW Widescreen LCD 1680x1050
UI Mem usage: 30 MB
Here are the mods I use:
HowitzerMods.zip - FileFront.com
All you have to do is 1st backup your current Addons folder and WTF folder, then remove them and drop mine in their place, rename the Howitzer folder to your character's name and insert it, replace addons folder with mine and you're done.
Be aware though that the setup is configured for 1680x1050 widescreen. You may have to tweak it a bit. Be sure that if you DO download and install this modpack that you also go to www.wowace.com and installed wowaceupdater.exe as the mods are frequently updated.

I finally got around to completely redoing my UI. I used to stick to very standard blizzard frames, but eventually I succumbed to Pitbull.

I used Perl back in the day until I moved over to AGUF. But, when Pitbull came out I tried it and scrapped that too. AGUF really is a more stable UF mod.

What is the benefit people see to using CT-style buff mods, with a large bar that contains the entire name of the buff for each buff? It seems like it eats up a very large amount of screen real estate.
I'm not trying to be antagonistic, I'm seriously curious what people's reasoning is, who knows, I might learn something that would make me switch.

From a tanking standpoint it is easier for me to see debuff's that are applied to me with a buff/debuff window that is large. With blizzards displays you get a buff/debuff that is just an icon which can be misleading at times and having to drag your mouse up to the buff to read what it is at the same time of tanking a boss and moving him can be rather cumbersome.

I agree about the whole ElkBuffBar thing and having it easier to notice. But at the same time I can't stand seeing those huge bars on my screen especially when you're fully raid buffed. Instead, I have it so that debuffs appear far below my buffs so that its obvious and clearly visible. Using seriousbufftimers mod shows me the exact minutes/seconds in duration of any given buff just like ElkBuff would.

Photek V7 UI mostly. Differences are Quartz casting, SW Stats, EavesDrop (rather then simple combat log), Grid for raid frames, Necrosis, DBM 2.7, andDoTimers / DoCooldowns. All mods updated from AceUpdater or Curse.
In that picture I am missing my potions bar that typically goes down the right side of the window (hence why I have one bag opened)

It looks better, resolves abiguous icons, and with EBB-style bars it makes it easier to tell if de/buffs are about to expire. Also, with EBB it's really not much more screen space than the default buffbars -- being able to identify buffs by the name in addition to the icon means the icon can be smaller, and they don't look stupid with no spacing like the default icons would.
As with most UI customizations, it's mostly just a taste thing, though.

Testing out Mik's Scrolling Battle text mods as a replacement for SCT and SCT-d and liking it so far. But other than that, not much has changed. As far as mods go, this patch was near perfect for integration for me. /cheer

I need to find a new bag mob so I can get rid of my bag/keyring bar. Also find a way to get rid of my char sheet/spellbook/talents ect bar, but be be able to bring it up when needed. Then i could move my map to the bottom and maybe get a buff addon. Also how do some of you get such clear and glossy buttons? The ones I see in some pics look high def compared to mine. I have skinner can I change there look with that?

1) I use Onebag but Baggins is also a solid mod.
2) Bartender lets you do that.
3) Simpleminimap.
4)I use Morganti buffbars but many like ELk's.
5) CyCircled.

I agree, however fully raid buffed I cannot stand the crazy amount of bars that show up. Is there a way with EBB or other mods so that buffs can be shown the standard way, as icons across the top of the screen and debuffs can be shown as full bars?
Bonus points if it is configurable so you can set specific buffs to show up as bars and others to show up as icons.

I've already posted my UI in the other thread, but I'll post it again here and list my addons since I had some inquires. This SS is from 2.0, but it looks the exact same now since all my addons worked fine post-patch. It's ~13mb on load, and 16-17mb in a raiding environment.

You can do that with Morganti BuffBars. It has options to set up the buffs/debuffs/weapon buffs individually as either bars or icons. The only place I've found it is Curse and it hasn't been updated in a little while, but it still works perfectly for me in 2.1.

I should have said this in my first post, but I play completely point and click. I don't have a single thing keybound and I use the arrow keys to move. Thats why I still have my status bar on my screen. I haven't seen anything that would let me just pull it back up when needed with one click. I'm gonna try that bag mod. I really wanna put my mini map down at the bottom right of my screen for more screen area and try these buff mods.

Simple Minimap.
You can scale, alpha and move it. In addition you can make it square or square with a rounded corner if you would prefer that.

This is what I'm using now, very very lightweight. Skipped SW_Stats for now, since it was hogging so much memory. I also skipped KHL Threatmeter, since it's quite useless for me anyway. That ditched a lot of unnecessary memory useage away.
