Finding which addon is causing lag issues

I am having a hard time finding out which addon is slowing me down during raids. I have a decent computer. AMD 3500+, 2GB RAM, 10k Raptor HD, EVGA 8800 GTS. In town i can see frame rates as high as 70. While farming im usually around the same as well. In 5 mans it can drop to 50 or so but it never gets laggy at all. When in a raid for some reason, i can see fps as low as 5. I understand some fights like Kazzak and TW are probably going to lag a little regardless due to the nature of the fights but i dont think 5fps is acceptable even for fights like these. Last night i raided without SW Stats and still had the same problem so i can rule that out. Here are a list of the other addons that might be affecting it.

ORA2 - Heard that this is much on resources than CTRA etc. so it most likely isnt it.
KTM - Probably uses the most resources out of any addon but i can see this lowering my fps by that much
AG_UF - Much lower on resources than xperl so this most likely not it.
Grid - As a warlock i am not using any of the cool functions of Grid so i cant see this slowing me down either
MikBattleText - I have tried disabling this and didnt see much of a difference.
Simple Combat Log - ?? could this be causing any issues?

I havent cleaned out my saved variables in a long time but again i cant see that making much of a difference. I defrag once a week usually and never have Spyware etc. All other games can see 300 fps regularly. I will try deleting all saved variables not in use tonight and see if that helps out. Can anyone offer some insight into what might be my problem?

I've had bizarre mod problems that came down to ancient saved variables that had been around through many iterations of mod upgrades and game upgrades. If you're working through all the possibilities don't leave that out, there may be something odd in there that is causing the issues. If nothing else back up the SVs and give it a shot.

Also, 2.1 added some performance measurements to the Lua scripting system, take a look at addons like PerformanceFu or Protractor and see if you can use those to track down the offender.

i dont use Fubar so ill check out Protractor. I assume that it is a standalone addon. I am hoping it is the SV as that would mean a quick fix. I am sure i have many useless files in there. I don't think i have cleared it out in 2 years.....

Autobar (if you use it) seems to use a stupidly large amount of resources, atleast 2/3 times the amount of any other addons I run.

Other than that, I'd suggest using the addons mutagen referenced with CPU profiling enabled.

It hasn't been updated in a long time... problem in that is that it does some things that are blocked by the blizzard ui. Like when I hit any hotkeys on my bongo bars it fires a blocked method.

i dont use autobar. Is CPU profiling a setting in Protractor or somewhere else?

protractor is showing that pcall is #1 by far on function cpu usage. it is using 6x the next highest.
bongos is using the most cpu but its right above ace. what is pcall and why is it using so many resources?

Haha I wouldn't look at the CPU function stuff thats meant more for developers.

pcall is something you have to call for secure elements to ensure the function doesn't taint you and the way debugging works pcall gets the time used instead of the function called.

I need to do something useless.

well thats good to hear. Last night i deleted my wtf and interface folders. I basically started from scratch. I switched to almost all addons from wowace. Let me just say bartender3>bongos FuBar>Titan. I also am using RDX now which seems to help. I will most likely go with Pitbull for UF and i am and will probably always use Grid for raid frames. I have all video settings turned down and vsync on with triple buffering. I see 60 fps all the time now. It drops a little when running around and in combat but it is still smooth. There are no skips at random times like there was before. I still am using default UF and dont have KTM installed yet. All i can hope for is that this trend continues when in SSC.

I was right after 2.1 @ 10FPS on raids (back to 35fps stable)!!

Some things i did:

- Loaded the game without any addons
- Activated the addons again

And the most important feature i suggest everyone todo and got introduced with 2.1 is:

Video Options -> Character Shadow (hope at least thats how its called) - turn this off, which boosted for alot of ppl the FPS up again several frames.

I'd suggest having a look at BigWigs, i am not really fancying the idea of paying for a raid-addon. Using Pitbull and Grid myself, very nice stuff.

ive used bigwigs dbm etc. RDX is much better than both IMO. Also last night during our Leo kill i was running at a steady 25-30 fps which is a huge improvment over 4-5. I dont have unit frames right now because i didnt have time to configure them but i dont see them dropping me too much.
